Let’s be honest… YEARS later… janette and Brandon were the best couple ever.. with salsa, jazz, hip hop… when you have a good duo.. they’re solid through and through
Especially since Jeanine stopped dancing after she won, and continued with her acting career instead, whilst Brandon is still being an All Star on the show.
I’m still angry with voters for placing Jeanine in the final 4 over Janette, who besides Brandon, was more consistently great throughout the entire season!
@@bestgirl726 Jeanine deserved her win though. She had such good solos and she was versatile even if some partners couldn’t keep up with her and she had personality & originality too. Janette eliminated at the top 8 was a shocker elimination though
Mia tried to save face. But to those who remember her diatribe against Brandon, it was not a critique from a teacher. It was not professional. She did not give him constructive criticism that he could use to improve, but tried to get him kicked out of the show and destroy his professional career. She kept on criticizing his arrogance with no proof based on his actions. She abused her power position as a judge. I'm glad she did not dig a deeper hole for herself, but his performance prevented that as the whole world by that point in the show knew she was wrong and that Brandon was one of the more likable competitors. So she tried to couch her past criticism as that of a teacher. I call it B.S.
at least she admitted she was wrong but I agree that was not even constructive criticism let alone a professional critique from a dance teacher. She definitely did not think he was one of the best at the time so to go back and act like she did does not make her look good. Like i said before though at least she admitted she was in the wrong and he is amazing
It isnt the first time she did that either. She also did that with Kherrington in a previous season. She said she smiled too much. I dont even know how to take that. She seemed to just not like certain people.
@@jazzyjen5083 She did not admit to being wrong. As was said she tried to say it was coming from a place of seeing potential in him and wanting him to be better, when on video she said she doesnt see potential in him. Complete bullshit. He was amazing during Vegas and was amazing all through the show.
Mia is a great choreographer but beyond that, she needs a muzzle. The moment she opens her mouth, my eyes roll at the garbage she’s spewing. Mia is one of those choreographers that need to remain silent on judging anything. I always loved when she sat without microphone in the audience. Her favored judgment was not appreciated. Mary may have been loud and obnoxious at times but at least she didn’t openly tear down dancers. Her judging was constructive.
Don Vu What in the world did Mary Murphy say about first class tickets to somewhere???? I swear I couldn't hear it because she started screaming GOD awful loud right after, and the audience muffled the rest. Can someone tell me what she said?
OMG I really miss these years of the show. The true talent they use to pick and now-well ugh. Brandon one of my all-time favorites and Janet wasn't on long enough but it does speak to the caliber of dancing on the show. And Mia Mia Mia mannnn I miss her. BUT I remember just how tough she was on him and when she critiqued this I think we all were crying. I've stopped watching and will not be watching any further cause for me its disappointing on a grand scale, but at least I have these to look at and love all over again Thanks so much for posting this!
I can't believe what I just saw. This was so amazing it is beyond belief! One of the best ballroom routines on SYTYCD along with the Kayla and Max samba, and Pasha and Iveta's number!
And yes women make it look pretty but Brandon stood his own ground… anyone else notice the “wink” when he dipper Janette? They both were amazing dancers who just so happened to be an amazing dancing couple
I gotta admit... I enjoyed Mary screeching in Mia's face after putting them on the hot tamale train. What Mia said to Brandon during the audition phase was awful and so out of nowhere. I remember when they were picking their top 20 and Mary was just not having Mia's BS about Brandon's "arrogance".
I really don't like Mia! She showed her true colors at the end of the audition phase, when she tried to get Brandon kicked out of the show, as well as when she refused to admit she was wrong when she said Kherington smiled too much in the uplifting routine for Jean-Marc's daughter. Mia doesn't give constructive criticism, she attacks the dancers personality based on her own feelings for them! That's a bad and dishonest teacher!
Janette has been part of Strictly Come Dancing (dancing with the stars) for the last 6 years in the UK and married to Ballroom dancer champion from Slovenia, they have their own dance show where they tour the entire UK every year. she's had a very successful dancing career.
I don't know much about this show, but there is no way that Brandon was not an experienced ballroom dancer before entering this episode's season. There is jut no way a person (even a highly gifted one) can learn the hip action, the foot placement, the body balance and poise, and all at that speed, in just a matter of weeks. Even Janette, who appears to be slightly less trained than Brandon, is trained far more than this show is making it appear. I think people are being fooled into believing this confection. Anyone who has studied ballroom dance (and specifically cha cha) knows how hard it is to gain those skills mentioned.
The thing is that you could say that with every single style he did: Foxtrot, Tango, Paso Doble, Hip Hop, Disco!! The guy appeared to be a pro in everything he did.
Actually, the real funny thing about dance in general is that sometimes it almost doesn't matter how long you've been doing it. Some are naturally gifted for the art and, with the right focus, can pick up new techniques and skills pretty quickly. There are some people who've been dancing for a decade, but get outperformed by someone who's only been dancing for two years. Not incredibly common, but not exactly rare either. Art has a weird way of doing that.

They were my favourite couple & I continue to marvel at their exceptional talent. They made everything just look so effortless.
It was bloody fantastic! Brandon and Janette were 2 of the best dancers in the history of this show!
Brandon had the best Argentine Tango and disco also. He should have won the whole thing.
Especially since Jeanine stopped dancing after she won, and continued with her acting career instead, whilst Brandon is still being an All Star on the show.

Brandon and Janette slayed season 5!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I know Mary annoys the heck of some people. But give her credit people! She fought for Brandon big time when Mia pulled her bitch routine on him!
The best cha cha ever on the show period

+D Lovely lol she said they have two first class tickets to the hot tamale train lol

Best damn ChaCha i've ever seen
Love this so much. I miss the old SYTYCD

amazing fun to watch every single step and movement was perfect Brandon really killed it congrats
Can there be an all star season of SYTYCD with al the alums competing again. Because I love Jeanine and all....but Brandon should have won S5...
Paul Wallace I think he should have too...or Janette, but I didn't see Jeanine as the winner...
Absolutely, Brandon should have won. He was head and shoulders better than all the others.
It's about ten years now and I still don't like Jeanine as winner haha
I feel like this was the perfect couple to do this “perfect routine” even years later… perfect couple perfect routine ❤️❤️👸
ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO BE SO GOOD.......BUT IT HAPPENED.
I totally agree that this is the best cha-cha routine that was ever choreographed on this show!!!
Just watching Brandon get emotional about Mia’s comments shows how much her negative comments affected him
season 5 was one of the best after season 4
season 3 and 2 come close
All this time and this still this gets me 😍 esp when I feel shyte
my favorite dance!

Both should've been in the final 4
Brandon was brilliant and should have won. Jeanine must have had a bank of fans voting over and over. It’s a darn shame.
❤❤❤
This dance would've been better if they ended it with Janette's iconic lift
Nice try Mia. But your shallow attempt at saving face was SSSSOOOOOOOOOO lame, smh.......
Brilliant ! What are you two guys doing now a days I wonder?
Brandon which is my cousin was with Britney spears in a show but now he is on tour
Janette has been part of Strictly Come Dancing (dancing with the stars) for the last 6 years in the UK and married to Ballroom dancer champion from Slovenia, they have their own dance show where they tour the entire UK every year. she's had a very successful dancing career.
it is not available on my country
I hated it when Janette didn’t make at least the finals.
Mia was borderline or obviously racist toward Brandon

He had been studying dance since he was a child, so he may have had some ballroom, but he is a contemporary dancer. He is also 19 in this episode.
The thing is that you could say that with every single style he did: Foxtrot, Tango, Paso Doble, Hip Hop, Disco!! The guy appeared to be a pro in everything he did.
He studied jazz, contemporary, and ballet. He didnt do ballroom.

Jason G is just jealous. Every dance has their nuances. He was great at everything. Training doesn't matter.
