Heavy duty Derek, thanks for doing and I look forward to more. I believe I've seen all your vids but do not remember the Heaven interview. Interesting how scarce that is. Will be interesting to see what the next copy turns up will be priced at. Certainly not a $900 record but definitely more than a $35 record. I really dig the cover and the horn rock aspect doesn't scare me off. I'll need to stream the whole thing, certainly never seen it out and about. Can't wait to see more, added to the playlist.
Check out the interview if you're interested! I wish I could find others to do more, but they've either never responded or have passed on. If I have time, I'll shoot another entry this afternoon I got lined up.
Hey man. I figured you'd jump on this thread from Dom, what a great idea. I definitely have to get that book ASAP. If I made videos, I'd be all over it. I remember when you highlighted that band. Great back story on how you obtained the album. Very cool. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊
Whenever I'm in a thrift store, it's not just crate digging for records / CD's. Sometimes I come across fantastic books that are must haves. Interesting story on hospital waiting around time. There are others in the VC that have shared the same experience and found great stuff. It only happened once for me. Thanks for sharing.
Love your precious tattered copy of "Acid Archives" - the other section is in another room! 🤣😂😵💫 That "Heaven" LP sounds great! You find the craziest stuff out there! The craziest LP I found this past year or so here in Pennsylvania is an original press minty copy of Trettioariga Kriget, a fantastic Swedish prog-rock band that released this LP in 1974. I paid next to nothing for it in the wild but seems to go for between $200 - $300 or more on Discogs in near mint condition. It has since been extensively reissued in Sweden and Japan as I found out when researching on discogs. Now, if only I can find that "Heaven" LP - maybe at my local Goodwill store?!
Hey Derek, I have the Second Edition of Patrick's "Acid Archives" - wow, what a great reference book. The thumbnail photos throughout my edition are in color. This edition has 394 pages total. Need to dig back into this... BTW - your video looks better than ever - did you upgrade your camera/recording method? That "Heaven" album is very obscure! I'll try to stream it somewhere - if I can find it. But good for you, Derek. Keep up the great finds! Peace out, from the East Coast.
The Heaven album has a much longer review in the 2nd edition of the book. Lots of albums have more info and it also features a longer list as well as sections dedicated to exotica and new age. Cool story on how you acquired this rarity. I have only recently started to actively seek out records in the book, and have amassed a good amount mainly by just getting lucky digging.
I haven't read Endless Trip, so I can't really say. It appears to be a more thick selection of albums right? Acid Archives seems to branch out into the weird/outsider vein a little more. Whereas Endless is your traditional psychedelic.
That interview video was great. I need to get that Acid Archives book eventually. The drum intro for the sample you played kind of sounds like the intro music for PornHub videos. I can't imagine what someone would pay for an autographed copy of that. It's definitely an in-demand rarity.
😂 I love seeing those videos of drummers at basketball games in the stands covering that groove. Crowd goes nuts. Of course I had to ask for their signatures. It was a memorable day.
Cool idea Derek. I don't have the Acid Archives, but do have Vernon Joynson's "Fuzz, Acid And Flowers" and "Tapestry Of Delights" books. Both first editions from '93 n' '95. Grabbed them when originally released. Never heard of Heaven, plus 🎺rock really ain't my ☕ man! Sorry.
I have the '93 Fuzz Acid too. I'm not exactly a horn rock guy myself, but when it's not as polished as the contemporaries, makes it more enjoyable for me.
@@roygoad2870 I'd rather have that book rather than the one I have. I am more into UK artists. They had a bit more edge and darkness and less flowery than US artists. I just looked on ebay and it seems mine is the more valuable of the two. I'm surprised. But they go for decent money.
Thanks that's a great record I really love it it's super cool for fun check out this band called Hollywood autopsy just type in Hollywood autopsy 1983 it's an album by some friends then two are no longer alive it's Pure Noise trash rock it's pretty rare it's a good record have a great day thanks keeps me inspired I'm just an old guy now and listen to records everyday try to fix all stereo junkI love to find a copy of that even if it's beat up who cares have a great day I'll keep watching your videos keeps me inspired
Great entry , I remember the interview. Elon from Now-again records made available 2 songs of Heaven on Spotify. ✌️
Cool. Yeah I read that there will be a RSD comp featuring the Heaven tune later this year.

This is all new to me. I just got the book but haven't had time yet to check my collection.

Considering how often you post on Instagram, you're able to make some videos man. 😉 You have some amazing titles yourself.

Great stories !Thank you!

Well done follow-up on Seeking a Threads Acid Archives. Need to find something interesting to highlight. Great channel too. Cheers!
Thank you!
Good entry into a thread that most are unable to do.
I think a good portion of folks could join in. Originals encouraged, but reissues are welcome.
@@PsycheDerek. Cool kids thread.
Would love to find that...I remember the interview.
Nice to see you back on here, Nathan.
The band Heaven is also mentioned in the "Fuzz, acid and flowers book.
So many group tjat would like to call themselves Kaleidoscope, must be ten?
Probably countless bands used the name. But during this time period, never thought one emerged so close to me.
I hear Mythos in the background 🙂 Nice feature on a title I've never heard before. Will check it out.
Good ears! All those sounds were featured in my last video mix.

No camera upgrade. Must have been the lighting or the editing involved.

Ahh okay. That sounds about right.
Hey Derek can't remember did you ever find Blackberry Winter on the Lincoln label Chamus? I thought you did a video once on that one.
I never did bother to pick that one up. I've never owned that one.
Which book is best in your opinion: Endless Trip or Acid Archives?
I haven't read Endless Trip, so I can't really say. It appears to be a more thick selection of albums right? Acid Archives seems to branch out into the weird/outsider vein a little more. Whereas Endless is your traditional psychedelic.
That’s a great idea. I’m gonna pull up the book and attempt to talk about one of the albums i have. I love your videos!!! Cool stuff.
Awesome! I'll be on the lookout. 👀

@@PsycheDerek. Hey.... who shouted "Hamilton Streetcar"??
I have Fuzz, Acid and Flowers Second edition. I can't remember where I found it either. I paid almost nothing for it too.
I have that book too he also published Tapestry of Delights on British Psych, by Vernon Joynson, there’s a great interview with Vernon on line too!

Same with mine. I have the third edition.
Hi Derek, did you say you have another channel?
Yes, Cosmic Mynds. I'll occasionally upload some vinyl rips onto there.

Awesome! I just subbed!
