Demonia Boot Review - Demonia Goth platform boots are some of the craziest looking boots you can buy but are demonia boots good? I cut one in half to see what's inside and if demonia boots are worth it and if they are the best goth boots. People also use these platform boots as rave boots and punk boots so it matters if they are just going to fall apart.

Honestly on behalf of the entire goth community, we thank you for this video because we've been complaining for years about the terrible quality of Demonias and how much they overcharge for a subpar product. We're going to keep buying them though because we like the aesthetic more than we hate ourselves.
Do you have any suggestions for actual GOOD quality tall boots? Don’t mind if they’re leather

New Rock has been the only brand to me that sold proven high quality knee high platform boots. My pair from them is still going strong even after 10 years. Yes they cost hundreds of dollars but so much more worth it compared to Demonia's shoddy quality.

New Rocks are definitely the best in terms of quality. What they lack is variety which is what has kept me from buying them. I'm just not into the industrial style they all have. I wish they would come out with some sleeker and more elegant styles, I feel like the brand would get even more love if they did

Those ridiculous Prada boots are just for the name and the look. They are obviously 100% cemented boots. They are more for photoshoots and parties that the Demonia boots you dissed.
i honestly felt horrible for buying knock offs online. the quality was awful and i convinced myself i shouldve bought the real ones. this video is such a relief to be honest haha.
Yeah as I get older I realize generally the brands aren’t any better than the knock offs so it’s better to just look for an alternative

It's sad seeing this. A couple of my friends and I own older pairs have wooden heels that have nails or stitching. I have a pair when they were transitioning to all foam and while the heal is wood it is glued. They did not cost $125, they cost like $90 or less.

Are nails in the heel of the platform wood base dangerous?
@@C_U_R_I_E_L No, cobblers traditionally used nails. There are various methods for tapping them into place and often times a layer of fabric is over them or they are placed in a way that you would never notice.

Using glue is the norm for mass produced shoes because its cheap and people generally don't wear shoes for more than a couple years nowadays. Sad really. Look up a video of a cobbler resoling a shoe sometime its actually great asmr haha

Nice leather (though grain corrected and coated). 20 eyelets, 2 straps and a knife sheath (according to him, he kept an old swiss bayonet in it lol), Goodyear welt with screwed and glued rubber lugged soles. Also made in England. It's a real shame they dry rotted cause I'd honestly wear those things even though they're two sizes big lmao.

Considering the insanity happening at demonia and them charging you £40 for return shipping if you got wrong size boots or there is a factory defect on your boots and need to send them back their whole company deserved to be ripped in half like the boot.

There are actually good paying companies in China that pay their workers well. It's not always slave work or sweat shop pay.

I also have Demonia Boots and love them, but these Boots are really only suitable for parties or photo shoots. I would be really interested in how a Prada Monolith performs in your test.
What are better alternatives? I just got a pair(not for everyday but I wanted to find some)
@@tylerespinoza6624 I made some unboxing videos about Demonia, Killstar and New Rock Boots on my channel. I think Killstar boots are a little better made than Demonia and cost about the same. In terms of quality, New Rocks are the best but cost twice as much as Demonia.
@@tylerespinoza6624 I'm also a platform/boots fiend 😈 and I think if you really want an edge look but for everyday, Koi Footwear and Lamoda have great affordable options, that are lightweight and won't dread your all-day wear. They're super comfortable too 👍

I have been trying to explain to people how badly made Demonias are for a while. There are actually knock-offs for way cheaper that are pretty much the same quality.

Idk though, ive been very happy with most of my YRUs and a pair of Demonias. Granted I -did- learn to stay away from the all-over holographic stuff, the plastics just dOnt last & deteriorate from wear really quickly. But anything made of like "typical" shoe material ive had no problems with, and with the YRU's, they've been the most comfortable shoes I have. 🤷🏻♀️ (idk if being flat-footed has anything to do with that)
Otherwise, yeah its really unfair how expensive they are given the kinds of materials going into them. It just sucks because I havent really seen another distributor doing the kinds of styles they do that's more-or-less "reliable". Clearly they get away with their prices (and i keep going back 😬) for the designs, limited or flagship 🤷🏻♀️

I love these boots, they really are comfortable for everyday use and the foam takes a long time to wear down and cushions a lot of impact. Definitely hate the weak "leather" and would love a similar style in better materials, but I've worn mine weekly for years and they're still going- so calling them costume-only is a bit less than they deserve.

I’ve worn my cheap Amazon knock-offs almost daily for a year straight, and they’re still holding up really well. They were only $45!

A new video idea - talking about work socks in my opinion one of the most overlooked bits of kit everyone cares about the boots on their feets but not the socks on their feets so it would be cool to see what you recon the best kind are
I’ve been wearing costco kirkland thick socks for 3 years and love them .... used to wear dickies thick socks and they weren’t as comfy and didn’t stay soft after a few wears

you should try 'toe socks', the once that have a pocket for each toe. They are the most comfortable socks ever, at least to me.
socks are a totally different skillset related to like fiber stuff but imo a wool nylon blend is probably a good option for durability and comfort!

2 things. Firstly, not only did the look suit you but this video had me roaring from the start! Secondly, what is really disappointing about these boots is my wife use to have a similar pair done by the same brand but they were about 12 years older than these ones. Full leather through and through and they were £200ish. These were built like paper! My wife's were solid!

This is the best "Halloween Video" of the year on CZcams. It's impossible to top this, 10/10! I was watching this while silently sipping a coffee at Dunkin Donuts; the place was silent you could hear a pin drop, but when he said "It even has armor plating to kick the patriarchy in the groin.." I exploded laughing and had coffee all over myself. I quickly learned to time my sips of coffee going forward. After wiping up my mess, I looked up and everyone was staring at me. OMG. This video had the best "one liners".

Obviously I loved the commitment to the skit, and the writing was properly cheeky. I wouldn't say that I was surprised that the quality was so lacklustre, it seems like a lot of the "goth"/"emo" stuff simply is low quality stuff clad in black and parading as edgy. At least that hasn't changed since I was part of the Goth scene 20+ years ago...

I feel like this goes for all of goth clothes. The punk/goth stores in Stockholm are all filled with clothes that will rip in a week... I cared about the quality of my clothes as a teen and had huge problems trying to find cool clothes that didn't feel like they were made out of paper... Good quality goth clothes just doesn't seem to exist
I agree, clothes specifically manufactured for goth attire, tend to have an almost costume quality to them.
The flip side of that being, average daily wear found at a thrift store, can be modded to possibly look better and even be more cost efficient.
I personally find those stores are really only good for accessories and not for clothing. Most Goths of the 80s and early 90s didn't even buy their attire in those shops, since they didn't exist. Buying "alternative" clothes off the rack is kinda ironic anyway. As the user before me said, the best way to get a nice gothy wardrobe is to thrift and DIY. In most cases you will have achieved a much better and more unique look than the ready-made outfits can offer, since the latter are usually too edgy and tacky as hell with the 100 buckles, belts and whatnot.
I used to get 2 winters out of Demonia boots back in the 90's/00's. Definitely have to say all that foam made them comfortable for standing at shows for 5hrs and walking around NYC.

i got lucky with my demonias! lasted me almost 3 years with every day use! they're the valor 210, and they're still holding up apart from the tread worn all the way down. i recently got dr marten jadon xl (the ones with the o rings) and i love them. i watched the vid on the jadons and ive found these are a great replacement for my demonias! definitely wont be purchasing demonias again cause i prefer boots that last long, but they do have some awesome styles

I used to watch a co worker slip around the smoothie bar of a vegetarian restaurant in a pair of these. She was short, so they helped, but she busted her ankles a couple of times and started wearing sensible shoes.
