The beauty about the “nail cleaner” is why I love this hobby, small objects of desire. Whatever it is, it’s absolutely beautiful, I’m off to fire the digger up…another great watch, thank you.
would be handy if we all had diggers Ian!!! Less hard on the back too! Hope all well
@@HolzHammerSagas all good here thanks, hope you are too. Fingers crossed last nights rain softens the ground up. I’ve got a brand new, very exciting permission to explore! 🤞🏻
Hi Ally and Tasci ,a good days detecting and Tasci being so good 👍 I think the artefact with the ring on the end is a Roman Bubble Wand 🔍 and you and the excavator have discovered a Roman Bathhouse !!! Haha😂😅😊Stunning gold Coin too!!! xxxShaz
Your find at 22:00 looks like a Roman pull tab!😀
Yes it does rather now you mention it Doug!!!! 😂
Blimey that is a beautiful Tasciovanus - well done. I tried excavating one of my fields - by hand - lots of pottery and cow bones. Thanks for the bird sound track again.
Ha! Not at all Jeremy and hope all well!
Brilliant once again alexanda. And naming your dog tasci also brilliant. Keep up the good work.😊
Thank you John and thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
Brilliant. You've just brightened and lightened my rather dreary weekend Alexander. All the best. Victor.
Ha! Thanks Victor I am very glad of that! Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
I was on a site with one of my former newbies, that had been dug down about a foot to build up a road surface and this was just some random field and we were finding loads of stuff. I bet you could probably do that anywhere and come across better finds. I looked into it and the renting of a digger is about 200 pounds a day or you could get a local farmer to do it for less than that and before someone says you're not allowed to dig below the plough soil you can tell them that the metal detecting code are just guidelines there is nothing set in law.
Fantastic video as always,
Cleggy
Good points Craig... I will be looking into doing a bit more with these guys! Hope all well!

Hi there. Love that the top layer was scraped off - down to business. The finds were in beautiful condition. I'm with you about that FLO, even though I don't live there. Significant finds, yes, off to a museum. But the rest? They'd be seen & enjoyed by more people at home, instead of sitting tucked away in drawers in a museum basement. If they need them for cross reference, they know where to find them. Another fine vid sir. Thanks.
Exactly Francine I hadn't thought about that - they can be logged with the FLO and kept at home - brilliant!!! 👏 Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
Absolutely amazing and brilliant video Alex , can not wait for the next episode 👍👍👍🍺
I have a couple waiting but its not very detecty out there at the minute is it Mark?! Hope all well!
Cracking finds and not a shotty in sight. Keep up the good work looking forward to the next. Well saved.
Indeed but its getting a bit "croppy" out there now David! Hope all well and thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
Some very interesting finds there, and you take it all in your stride no big song and dance about what you find. Looking forward to the next dig.
not what @glenDEUS thinks Pat ... accusing me of "jumping around all over the place" when I find something good!!! Anyway, thanks for watching and hope all well!
Great finds. Love your fox terrier. I now have my 8th called Foxie a crazy 14 week old girlie.
Really? How cool! The guy who bred Tasci has been doing so for 30 years odd - in Fife, Scotland - he calls them medium sized broken coated Jack Russells and I wouldn't argue with him but they obviously have quite a bit of fox" in them...! Great dogs aren't they but bloody strong willed!!! I love 'em - I had a Patterdale before ... Crumpet! Give Foxie a cuddle!

Well they weren't actually that close..! Hope all well - you wouldn't really like the site Cath i promise... its basically only Roman and there really is nothing left on the surface... it only about 3 acres i went over it three times this year before we dug deep and found one tiny sliver of copper and that hammered... in three outings it has been dredged by decades of detecting - its a well known site...

Brilliant. Never seen anything like the feather nail cleaners, they seemed to have no wear on the ring part. I think the most valuable thing you have there is your relationship with your farmer. A great hunt. Thanks for the video.

All the B, Ally
Lovely finds and as always, a well presented and edited video. As you know I'm with you on the FLO situation. Down here in Kent it's an absolute farce - our old FLO left last year, in the Autumn; initially they replaced him with a temporary FLO, she was quite good but she lives in Essex and had an eye on the job there so she applied for it when it came up. Kent County Council stupidly decided not to advertise the position in the hope the temporary FLO wouldn't get the Essex job, but she did; this left them up the you-know-what without a paddle as they hadn't even begun looking for someone to replace Lori. They didn't appoint a new FLO until the beginning of May - she has spent weeks finding her feet and hasn't started having monthly meetings, nor does she respond to emails. When she does start up, the many, many detectorists in our large county are going to provide a huge backlog of finds and I have no idea how she will cope (she will have the part-time help of one experienced finds recorder). I have two treasure items going through (supposedly going through), one of which they've had for two years. Will I ever see it again I wonder? I am at the point where I don't feel like declaring anything because the whole thing is a mess of epic proportions and I no longer trust them with any of my finds. Isn't it ironic that we are told by law, we must declare finds 'within a reasonable short amount of time' - how is that even possible? It definitely isn't here! Rant over!
Rant for as long as you like you have a sympathetic ear here! Hope all well! The whole thing is a complete shambles....
Same in Scotland unfortunately. Still got my declared finds from 5 years past. Just nonsense! Slainte 🍻
@@jimconnell8994 That's ridiculous. I think you need to find out who your FLO's line manager is and make a formal complaint.

This is one of the best videos I have seen for a long time some great finds in very good condition at that depth in wet ground. It made me think that there could be some things in my permissions that I have missed. Thank you a Alex. Len
I am sure - it was o odd that almost every signal at that depth was something.... every signal.... no .22 shells, cartidges, and other usual rubbish - for me it was a fascinating experiment! Hope all well with you Len; thanks for watching!
Amazing finds Alexander. Well done.

What a ripper day out. Mind bogglingly good finds. Congrats on the effort that you put in. As an aside, and talking of your hammered Edward VI (and knowing that other people’s family trees are boring) I just discovered my earest forebear was killed in Ketts Rebellion in 1549, in reign of Edward VI. As you say, not a particularly good reign. My bloke was a reasonably prosperous yeoman farmer. He had 46 acres in one manor, plus land in others, just outside Norwich. It’s been downhill for the family ever since 😢😂
Ha! I'm sure it hasn't Wayne and not boring at all! Norwich is a good area to detect too 😁 Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
Edges of a field are a hot spot here in the states. Farm implements have to turn around, and when they do, relics get deposited there.
Thats good knowledge RJ thanks for that 0 something we can learn from over here too! Hope all well
Awesome finds
Thanks Andrew! And thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
Another enjoyable vid Alex. For what it's worth that [nail cleaner] just doesn't really look like a nail cleaner does it but there is such a clear image of a feather, it surely must be something to do with birds? If it's hawking I still can't see what it's for either!
The tweezers; in the hand you might get the feel of silver otherwise they look copper/bronze to me so. 2 items and absolutely no help with ideas from me but looking forward to your next foray.
Thanks Colin and you could well be right about the feathery thing its a real noodle scratcher! And i think you are right about the tweezers too - phew it means I wont hae to go through that wretched Treasure rubbish! hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
Excellent as always Alexander, loving that bronze artefact and hoping someone gets back to you with an ID. Two Celtic gold coins in the same field......Just wow!!
Please keep up the great work and please don't worry if you forget your speaker, nice of course to hear the different tones but not essential👍
Especially as it is all I have to go on - recently it was referred on youtube as going "blind" 😂 I think the machine is a better one ears only but then I have never really used the remote... I will remember the speaker in future - hope all well bodger!

I bloody love your videos Ali! So sorry for not stopping by for ages - it's been absolutely crazy at home & work, was training like a crazy fool ahead of doing an ultra marathon a couple of weeks ago. Also had a death in the family with the father-in-law passing recently too, so I've just not been on my game. Good to see you & Tasci looking so well, and what a coup to be able to go over the land with the digger - presumably one of your previous videos explain why....which I will catch up on. Amazing finds as ever mate - you must pinch yourself often! Hope you are fully recovered from your escapades my friend!
Well done again mate some lovely conditioned artifacts and coins as with the FLO I agree and I do exactly the same , I handed 20 finds in after 9 months nothing had been recorded , I rang up and asked what was happening and was told " you said there was no rush" I almost replied I said" don't rush and take the piss . Do you find pre Roman coins in Slovenia Jernej? Hope all well - I really enjoyed the fishing this year your country is so beautiful! We were near Tolmin...
@@HolzHammerSagas , I am really happy, because you like my country. You can also find pre Roman coins, but they are rare or hard to find. Celtic rings are more common and also other things like spear heads etc. But I have a friend, who found skeleton of a Celtic warrior and his wife... There were bronze axes, bronze belt, bracelets, battle helmet... These finds are now exhibited in the Celje museum.
