Wasn't this level previewed in the November 2002 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly?

i can see why it was cut. I hope it is just a very small part of something that would've been awesome. I am the type of person who never leaves an enemy behind. 100% completion.
It was never supposed to be in the final game, it was a test map for testing concepts and the engine as it evolved from CE to Halo 2, Heed is misleading everyone by calling it a campaign mission.

@@rm25088 Honestly I am getting tired of Heed calling them "cut campaign levels" because no, they are not they are levels made to test concepts and ideas as the Blam! Engine evolved from CE to 1.5 to 2. Sure, Bungie may have made loose story for each level just for fun or something but they are in truth nothing more than tech demos and test maps.
@@kabob0077 I've noticed heed has been doing a bit of click baiting lately. It is a shame. His old videos were great. There was one the other day but he apparently deleted it after everyone complained.

This looks better than any new halo game and it’s literally trimmings from an old 2003 game ☠️man I wish halo was still good lol
It's not even trimmings, this level was from the Milestone 1 build of the engine and used to test things, it was never going to be in the final game.
Did they release the E3 demo yet or nah?

99% of the time old backups within the studio; 343 digsite team iirc looks for em. The other 1% is trickled down over the decades from sharing

Because I'm clearly remember differently!
Halo 1 and 3 have alternate legendary endings, but can't remember if Halo 2 does. In Halo 1 its the scene where Johnson and the Elite hug and Johnson says "hold me brotha".
halo ce, 2, 3, 3 ODST, 4, and 5 all have legendary endings

Another clickbait title. This is NOT a cut campaign mission: it was a milestone level used for testing concepts in the Halo 1.5 engine. It was never going to be an actual level in Halo 2.
Heed really needs to stop misleading people with these titles...
@@kabob0077 He even admits in the first few seconds of the video that this level wasn’t cut from H2’s campaign at all.

Also a lot of cut content was not meant to be played. A lot of the cut content didn’t make it to the final product because it just wasn’t a good fit for the game. People seem to think that they wanted to add the cut content but they were unable to when in reality they just didn’t want to, it was a deliberate decision and it should be respected imo.
@@TheRafark Not always the case, especially with Halo 2. Vast majority of H2 cut content was cut because they had no choice, not because they didn’t want it.
