Keitt Mangos - When are they ripe? - And When to Pick?

In this video, I go into detail about when to harvest and ripen Keitt mangos. They have a unique appearance when ripe, that can sometimes confuse new gardeners. But they are one of my favorite varieties, as they has low fiber, and complex flavor.

Thank you for the information. I am trying to identify the characteristics of each mango. There are so many but I can't tell the name of each. Now that you mentioned Keith, I know when to go looking for it (late season). I truly enjoy eating it. I like all ripe mangoes that is not fibrous.

Will this grow in zone 7

Unfortunately no. Most Mango varieties are only hardy from zones 9a (Along the coast) through 12b. Being almost entirely tropical. I'm in Zone 10a, and even I have had my trees freeze all the way down to a stump a few times.

I'm completely addicted to mangos but i live in georgia so it gets too cold to grow them i can grow them inside until they need to be planted so im just gonna sell them🤷‍♂

I'm completely addicted to Chinese jujube but live in totally tropical climate where its not doing good 😢

Where I live everything grow well lol
We don't have too much rain but our weather is unique I tried everything and it seems anything can be a success ​@@realvipul

Why ripen OUTside? Why not on the counter INside? 🤔

I find that the warmth and humidity plays a big part in proper ripening. it's too dry and cool indoors which causes wrinkling.

I believe it! Keitt is by far my favorite of all the mangos I've tried. Amazing flavor.

I bought a tree today it's grafted in 5 gallons plastic bag with flowers lol three pockets of flowers so I'm. Gonna try it and tell. People it's good
I think people buy unripe ones from. Stores and by the way most fruits in stores especially supermarkets are bad
Our nation. Is the nation's of figs for info and I've seen that in USA and Europe figs sold. In supermarket are trash
But if you try one we grow you will. Change your mind. It's just like you are eating a honey fruit like it's honey lol
