So nice to see autumn!! Here in Argentina we´ve been in lockdown since march so most of us just didn´t notice autumn and winter pass by and just skipped from summer to spring. Hey Matti, I'd love to see a demo of how you color graded the orange leaf footage. It almost looks black and white + orange, so I'm guessing it's more involved than just a preset. Also, I'm sure there are like a dozen different ways to go about this, but curious what your method is. Thanks for another great video!

Camera companies have nothing to worry about. Only thing that’s dropped out is the entry level point and shoot market. My friends 11 year old 12Mp 5D2 still shoots cleaner than this with deep fusion.

Hi Matti, Amazing video! I have a quick request, could you find out what the actual focal lengths are for the ultra-wide, wide, and tele lenses? Since lightroom records the focal length based on the real number and not the equivalent it should be as simple as checking the metadata on lightroom. For those of us trying to understand the real depth of field we will be getting, knowing the crop factor of these lenses goes into my buying decision between the pro and pro max.

This was more of directional skill test then iphone test. With any phone in hand at this beautiful location & skills, results can be achieved . Give him any phone he will make a Good video with this energy. Also stabilization test is great.
Exactly. That's what I was thinking when I watched this video. They should really have done it with a Galaxy S20 or a Pixel 5 and shown us the difference. With this location and their filming skills, probably even a Pixel 4a, which costs only $349, could make it work.

Its HDR, you hav not convert it into SDR otherwise if you just play HDR video on a non HDR, it looks like absolute crap!

Sick B roll you have such an eye Matti! The orange colours with the blacks and white sky 😍. The shot created with your tree hugging also incredible - never fail to be amazed when I shoot how the most stupid and simplist moves can translate to epic drama in camera!
I did think in the comparisons, on occasion the 12 had the edge which I wasn’t expecting. 12 appears sharp in slow mo but the 12 pro was a little soft?

Hey Wesley, I'm a 37 year old filmmaker hobbyist from FL, with a 12 year old daughter who also likes filmmaking! My advice is to dig deep into each aspect of filmmaking from industry professionals, not just CZcamsr influencer personalities. While the vlogs are entertaining, there is also a wealth of knowledge on here from pros too (grips, DPs, etc). But just remember, you don't always have to let your hobbies/passion turn into a career. Filmmaking is a tough gig, influencers make it look easy -- my advice is to reach out to actual people in the industry for guidance. When it comes to vloggers, perhaps think of them as the lucky ones, like the 0.0001% of video gamers that made a living by streaming on Twitch. It's more of a personality thing versus hands-on experience that propelled them into success. I would be shocked to learn if Peter or Matti had ever been on a real set before CZcams. :)

When I got my iPhone 6 (my first iPhone), I said to myself that I would only upgrade when the first 5G iPhone was released, but I couldn’t help myself and ended up getting a 7, 7+ and currently XS Max, it is too addicting 😩

If you know cameras you know phones are very average but very good and handy for when you need to take a snapshot.

From 5:28 the video comparison between 12 and 12pro is correctly captioned? I know the dolby vision interferes to 12pro with 60fps but not on 12. In your video 12 video has way better HDR.

I agree. The 12 Pro seemed over exposed or something. The 12 looked much better. Kind of concerning for those interested in the Pro. I hope the footage was labelled wrong like the previous comment mentioned.
They both record HDR video; however, HDR output (through dolby vision) is available only at 30fps on the 12 while it is possible up to 60 fps on the 12 Pro. This means that the 60fps HDR output on the 12 Pro had to be converted to SDR for this video, but on the normal iPhone 12 no conversion was necessary since 60fps is only output in SDR. Because HDR has a wider range of luminance (& color) and is generally brighter than SDR, the HDR-to-SDR conversion can cause tone-mapping issues that wouldn't be apparent if viewed in the video's original space. It is likely that if both were viewed on the phone they were taken on, which can view Dolby Vision and didn't require conversion for the purposes of editing an SDR youtube video, that the Pro would look better.

@@aminbajrektarevicab I thought the same so I checked some other videos where they compared Iphone 12 to actual good video cameras and the image quality tanked on the Iphone especially on fast paced scenes, it's the Iphones awful bitrate or compression. Basicially, it's quite meh for video, which I already kinda expected given that the overhyped Iphone 11 was overhyped as well and had some severe compression and flickering issues which apparently reomained in Iphone 12.

I think it’s to do with the iPhone 12 not being able to shoot Dolby vision in 60p whereas the pro can and that may be why 12 pro looks brighter and overexposed

To be honest... The hdr is not working 80% of the time.. Hope apple will fix it with a software update. Stabilisation is good but not the best. Colors are excellent as well as skintones. Lot of flickering going on. Anyway it was a great video. Love the colours in canada 🍁

I think this video is misleading actually. The footage from the 12 Pro looks worse, since it has not been treated correct. They say it's cut in Premier, but right now only the iPhone itself or iMovie can edit the footage - not even Final Cut Pro X. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is the case…
