If you’re going to talk about community and keeping it healthy, get in touch with whoever is dealing with matchmaking and start dealing with smurfs. Your game is infested with them, and they destroy the experience for new and returning players.

I agree smurfing is damaging the game, but I don't think they can stop it, unless you make the level to join comp really high, which can deter people from the game at a faster rate
It is an issue but they address it by trying to get them to a higher rank as fast as possible. They’re returning players trying to enjoy the game so last thing riot wants is to lose a chunk of player base by banning them. Just like how roblox allows “e-dating” 18 and older since it’s such a big portion of their player base. Every fakes their age on there it’s not hard, they’ve just encouraged e-dating and pedo’s as well on there. Last thing both games want is to lose players..
@@def_zay Yep. Precisely why I don’t play Comp any more. I’ve been warning them since beta - any game like this will need some way to deal with smurfs. League puts them in smurf queue and you’re basically stuck there, but I don’t know how well that would work in Val.
The easiest solution to smurfing is required 2FA for competitive play. Just make it harder for people to make fake accounts. It won’t solve the problem entirely, but will drastically raise the LOE to create a successful smurf account.

I think a function like muting where you stop that team member from spectating you can work wonders.
He can spec everyone else - just the camera rotation skips you.
Although I am not sure how to tackle if you're the last alive and thus the only one in the rotation. (Maybe he sees only his dead body and area near it - like what you see when you are dead and spike is still waiting to be defused.)

is it possible to add another option of reporting just for smurfs? like you can just increase a person's mmr if they are reported as smurfs, apart from increasing their mmr based on the performance.
reporting smurf is a tough topic to discuss because there are games that someone is just underperforming and sometimes maybe the player is just having a good game. a person can go 32/10 in one game and drop a 5/18 on the next one, even i have days like that too. and as a teammate, you cant just imply that someone is smurfing with 32/10 or maybe report him as boosted because of that one time you played with him on his 5/18 game. big RP losses and big LP gains already are combatting the smurfs and boosted accounts.
For whatever reason, Valorant is actually ok with people smurfing (likely because inflates new player numbers and is a hard/expensive thing to police)

I've reported 12 people both enemies and allies in a different matches with disrespectful and threatening behaviors such as telling me to "KYS" and many more. The good news was that whenever I logged in to val a prompt message always pops up saying that "Reported account have been penalized." with a thank you. I can say that Riot did a W for this system.

You want to make the community less toxic, add phone number registration for ranked. Someone gets banned they just hop on another account for a week or two and do the same thing on that account. Would also diminish the amount of smurfs in the game, who are usually toxic to lower rated players. You could also add a stricter party queue system so there are at least 3 people on a team that are solo'd so they out number the group. Trios should only be able to be matched with duos.
and keep the 5 stacks away from random queues lol

Obviously, you want people to feel safe and enjoy the game but honestly smurfing is a much bigger issue than toxicity is in Valorant right now. Anybody can completely stop/avoid toxicity with the simple press of a button. There is absolutely no way for players to avoid smurfs and the havoc they wreak on the Elo system until Riot finally steps up to the plate and addresses the smurf issue they've let fester for FAR too long. Smurfing/boosting directly leads to worse match-ups and makes the game less rewarding and fun for everyone involved (especially in the mid-high ranks where the bulk of the player base is and every new player starts).
If Riot finally starts addressing the rampant smurfing/boosting it will also drastically reduce the total amount of toxicity in the game. The vast majority of toxicity stems from frustration created by uneven match-ups (which smurf/boosting significantly affects in a negative way). The team starts blaming each other because the smurf's team is stomping them so badly. Or the smurfs start getting mad at their Gold teammates because they aren't playing at the Ascendant lvl they are used to. Cracking down on smurfing/boosting will drastically reduce toxicity while making for much more exciting and fun games.

Can you guy's put this much effort in solving the smurfing problem? There are creators playing on their smurf accounts with ZERO consequence. But when a boosted player plays in higher ranks they complain and get them banned by calling devs. They have that power but we don't.

Smurfs plague this game, throw the next game or so, and cause chaos . 60 percent of this game is ruined by Smurfs. It feels , truly, that Riot doesn’t care bout Smurfs, but telling them to F off gets you a ban. Sad to say my internet going out will get me a faster ban than the reported Smurf. Bring a player judgement boost( like overwatch) where we can give players with good comms or positivity a “player encounter” rank. Give throwers a harsher ban, and allow those who “underperform” to request an unban appeal. Riot is so fast to ban, but unwilling to unban. They want to promote postive players and community , but ignore the causes to the toxicity in game.
If you are getting rid of toxic players then get rid of e-daters as well, as imo they are worse than toxic players. It's amazing how much this team works around something that is solved under the same company in a different region. In Taiwan for upcoming pro players they have servers that require all players to register their accounts to their ID, you can have as many accounts as you like under your ID but any form of toxic behavior will be strikes on your ID. This system is in play for some countries and it's normal players both in Valorant and League of Legends.

Hate speech: abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice on the basis of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or similar grounds. Banter and arguing in video games is fine and nobody is complaining about that, but when me or my teammates get called slurs, or some degenerate hears a female voice in comms and she immediately gets people telling her to go back to the kitchen or is straight up sexually harassed it becomes an issue. We are either left with the option of dealing with it or muting and playing without comms which screws over the whole team. Nobody should have to make that decision in the first place.

Its a combat game players against players, give them a choice to mute others, but sensitive people should not be playing an action packed combat game, because they will spoil the game for others... Just because a minority gets bum hurt, that'st not a reason to kill the game. Yes there are limits and toxic behaviours should be dealt with. But by doing severe stronger penalties, innocent people are going to be mistakenly affected. No system is perfect. Its a tough place for a company to be in. But maybe giving offenders the penalty of being muted for weeks, might be better than banning an already reducing player base...

Game mode for SOLO PLAYERS. Lots of people play solo and it is rough when solos match up against a team of 5 friends
Please make sure that game crashes caused by factors outside of the client system aren't rolled into increased penalties. Ryzen first Gen users have been through enough over the past few updates. (it isn't an ez update drivers to fix, it's a chipset error on the game side targeting the CPU harder than it can handle, randomly between agent select and entering the server)

i went afk for like 2/3 rounds due to some internet issues and now my game is freezed in the main home screen of the game i tried re starting my pc, re installing the game also changed accounts but iam still stuck on the main home screen did i got hardware ban or is it just a bugg. And also valorant can you like shorten the ban period just a little to peoples with bad internet and bad electricity it would be great !
I think some of the problem especially in competitive, is that someone on the team does doesnt want to play as a team or wants to play differently get mad at nice people who are js trying to win and not be toxic are also being reported bc that player cant keep their cool

Being paired with premade groups of three or fours as you are singled out and blamed for each round lost because you don't have a mic is a normal occurrence. What about the consequences of those people; How do we speak out against THEM, because reporting an entire premade team of which we will have no indication of whom are the participants are without third party trackers, isn't realistic. The math isn't mathing you can never fix this without allowed premade toggles.
it can be like if 4 players are needed to kick a player, in return they get more money and extra ult point; that's in case there's only one problem creator. in case of a duo or trio throwing games, if reported their rr is deducted on win and added deduction on loss; while the victims lose no rr and get bonus rr if abuse or intentional throw is detected(has to be done manually or every game solos will report duos to gain rr) .
They have to balance it, you know
adding kicking to this game will make it go down like csgo where you get 1v5 ranked games

This is why me and my boys don't play anymore. With the smallest perceived inconsistency of how others think any of us "SHOULD" play vs a teammates own "perfect" strategy, it regularly opens a barrage of venomus hate that is unquenched and toxic, and we're not bad players. My older son gets as many as 40-50 kills on a regular day. We just look for an enjoyable game that we can all play. This game has good bones, but I believe the preloaded character "Banter" and other in-game inlays are next to toxic so when things and emotions in a game escalate, players have no other direction to go (to express frustrations) other than aggressive attacks that just leave everyone victims. While the game figuratively enacts competitive fighting, I believe it it does little to nothing to build team camaraderie, strategy, and a sense of accomplishment. The void of those things creates hostility. Imagine your favorite sports team casting hate and aggression on their own players, breaking down with toxicity. How long would they last? How successful would they be? How fun would playing the sports game be? So many games end this way. It's no different here. Fix the game.
