My brother a CGI artist and often talk us about the type of works he does on various movies. He was quite proud of working on Hail Cesear! He didn't tell any of us he worked on Gods of Egypt even though his name was in the credit
As a fellow actor (though not comparable to him of course), I can say that if you chose acting as a career, you love it and it's not a career, it's a passion.
rockyroo10 I think it will be bewilderingly bad as opposed to outright offensive like Dirty Grandpa - but that could edge it in an "I expected better from you" kind of way.
I wanted to feel like a bigger man, by loving the "best of", in a better way than, the "worst of". But I was rolling in tears with this episode. This is pure comedic gold.
If you attack critics on social media and not through your movies, then you're not a good director. Look at Birdman, a great example of using a movie to have a go at reviewers. I, Robot was good, but that was a fluke for Gods of Egypt director.
Another bad thing about London Has Fallen. Every video of it on youtube has people in the comments section proclaiming; "Dis will actually be London very soon"
I remember when London Has Fallen came out and me and my friends literally said that they will cast one British actor to serve the tea and crumpets while the rest of London strangely is populated by Americans. By the looks of things here our thesis seems to be pretty accurate 😁
Gibboanx 10 10. Fifthy Shades of Black 9. Suicide Squad 8. Independence Day: Resurgence 7. Me Before You 6. The Danish Girl 5. 13 Hours 4. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 3. X-Men: Apocalypse 2. Mr. Right 1. Allegiant
It would be better in London's Fallen if the terrorists chose really daft land marks to attack - Stonehenge, The white cliffs of Dover, Hadrian's Wall, The Angel of the North etc etc.
I cannot believe that the same man who directed something as dark and wonderful as The Crow was responsible for something as monumentally stupid as Gods Of Egypt-that makes me sad.

If you're talking about the newest one, that came out in July and this list only spans Jan-Jun of this year. Also, I don't think he found it too horrible, so it might not even make the list at the end of the year. Especially if we get more Gods of Egypt and London has Fallen types.
Mean Streets, The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, Midnight Run, Goodfellas, Casino, Heat... ...Dirty Grandpa :(
Think we all knew Dirty Grandpa would top the list. Thank you soooo much for including London Has Fallen in the top 3. Hated that film with a passion!!!
I tried watching London Has Fallen. I shut it off after 40 minutes. It reminded me of all those bad mid ter action films from the 1990s you'd see on cable or the video store shelves.
Same. Its depressing how bad the action film Genre has become these days. Or maybe we were just lucky growing up in the 80s with things like Aliens, Predator, Conan, Robocop, Indiana Jones, Big Trouble in Chine etc. I think I snoozed through London has fallen, Gods of Egypt, Seventh son etc. Just overblown CGI these days no characters
Oh I know what will be worse than Dirty Grandpa. There's a film coming out September time called Laid in America. It stars CZcamsrs KSI and Casper Lee. You can already tell its gunna be awful.
I am looking forward to watching the Costner film and London has fallen. Good actors in the first one and I enjoyed the first has fallen movie.. On a side note, I cannot understand why bvs isn't number 1..honestly...
I have to say I enjoyed Gods of Egypt, I wasnt expecting it to be mind blowing. It looks like an old fashioned mythology movie and it was. They cant all be oscar material. I watched a cult classic recently (evil dead) it was soooo bad it was good, lol.
I am ashamed to admit that I did actually watched Dirty G with reluctance because nothing else was available at that time, so I went in and it was shocking bad, fully deserving the 1st spot although I managed to skipp the others apart from Criminal which was again pretty bad and I wanted to like it as I love Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Michael Carmen Pitt.
A worse film than Dirty Grandpa came out in that period. It might be the worst thing ever committed to film. It might be the worst artistic venture ever offered. It might be the worst thing that we - the species who invented genocide and necrophilia - have ever done. It is Sacha Baron Cohen's Grimsby. And it is horrific. How it didn't make Mark's list I will never know.
It might be the most disappointingly terrible film this year but that doesn't make it the worst. 10th place seems fair. Gods of Egypt was even stupider, Zoolander 2 (which somehow missed this list) was even more scrappy and overlong and I haven't seen Bad Grandpa but I'd probably rather make myself watch all of BvS again than sit through even the trailer.
I think for some reason De Niro has become obsessed with adding a comedic layer to his repertoire. He seems to genuinely believe in these horrendous comedy films, and comedy roles he accepts. Sad, as his earlier work is the stuff of genius.
For this movie, I pray to God De Niro wins the Razzie for Worst Actor. Give the movie Razzies for Worst Picture, Director, Screenplay and On-Screen Combo as well.
Comedies can only be properly judged when watched: alone, sober and in a neutral mood. There's not a lot of movies that suddenly aren't that funny then.
Gods of Egypt was horrible, but it was exactly the kind of bonkers mess I was expecting and as a result I kind of enjoyed it. I'm not saying it doesn't deserve a spot on the list, but it's one of my 'so bad it's good' movies. London Has Fallen was just a nasty violent, jingoistic macho crapfest. Definitely worse than GoE.
The pain he show's when talking about Dirty Granpha is heartbreaking, somebody give that man a hug.
I felt the pain in his voice in his original review.
My brother a CGI artist and often talk us about the type of works he does on various movies. He was quite proud of working on Hail Cesear!
He didn't tell any of us he worked on Gods of Egypt even though his name was in the credit
Why don't Robert De Niro just retire? What a way to fall
He keeps this up and his shitty films will out weigh his good films
As a fellow actor (though not comparable to him of course), I can say that if you chose acting as a career, you love it and it's not a career, it's a passion.
He's got a hotel to put money into
Are you insane?! How did you enjoy this?! This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen!!!!
As much as I despised Dirty Grandpa, I'm surprised by the lack of Grimsby. That film practically broke me because of how painful it was.
Prefer the worst ones than the best
😂
Then you are on the wrong CZcams channel.
Anyone taking bets that Nine Lives will be at the top spot in 6 months time?
no chance, 9 Lives might be bad but it won't offend Mark the way Dirty Grandpa did, could be a number 2 contender though
rockyroo10

-...I made "Gods of Egypt". Yikes!
-I won't make that mistake.
Brilliant editing.
"I just smoked Crack" was what the scriptwriter said right before he started to write "Dirty Grandpa".
Dirty Grandpa is funny as heck. In my screening there were hows of laughter throughout.
"More wooden acting than World Police". Haha, you killed me there.
I'm having a De Niro binge this weekend just to remind how amazing his films and characters once were. Dirty Grandpa will not be part of the schedule.
Couldn't disagree with Mark more: Gods of Egypt is the greatest comedy I've ever seen.
And the director gets all pissy defending his precious film.
"Keep the good work Gerard" cue Gods of Egypt clip
That was fantastic xd.
I remember when London Has Fallen came out and me and my friends literally said that they will cast one British actor to serve the tea and crumpets while the rest of London strangely is populated by Americans. By the looks of things here our thesis seems to be pretty accurate 😁
The Waynes Brothers always make awful films.
Name One apart from Scary Movie
Yeah
White Chicks
Watch any of their movies in a neutral mood, sober and alone. That's the one way to make a proper judgement.
'Wayans' - Marlon = 'Requiem for a Dream'
Alex Proyas started out really strong. The Crow and Dark City are two of my favorite films from the 1990's. Somewhere though...ugh.
Interesting backdrop. Was this filmed in 5Live's server room?

Guess Kermode is holding back a film called Ghostbusters for Worst Film of Earth. Mucho respecto.
If you're talking about the newest one, that came out in July and this list only spans Jan-Jun of this year. Also, I don't think he found it too horrible, so it might not even make the list at the end of the year. Especially if we get more Gods of Egypt and London has Fallen types.
Completely forgot Dirty Grandpa got released this year. I really did just want to forget about that atrocity!
As soon as I saw #3 I knew the 'known landmarks' would be top of the list of complaints
I liked God's of Egypt.
+Kevin S Ha you just showed Your the idiot with a comment like that! what are you a two year old? Fool
Capital letter at the start of a sentence and a full stop at the end.
If you like all the films this critic hated, then maybe his reviews are not for you?
Mean Streets, The Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, Midnight Run, Goodfellas, Casino, Heat...
...Dirty Grandpa :(
Wow, Jason Mantzoukas is in Dirty Grandpa? What is it with the guy who makes fun of bad movies constantly starring in them?
Despite everything you said I flat out refuse to believe anything is worse than Gods of Egypt.
Don't be ridiculous, Mark. It doesn't matter what dreck DeNiro does in the twilight of his career, because the first 20 years of it were that good.
Would just like to remind Mr. Kermode that De Niro was in Jack and Jill, which is a far more offensive film than Bad Grandpa
That was Al Pacino! Which is just as depressing :P
Not as embarrassing as starring in the thing, I'm sure! :D
i want to see your review of Nine Lives
I think you should do them in this order: worst-1, best-1, worst-2, best-2. To end on a high note so to speak =)
Anyone else getting irritated by the fact the little panel with a green light behind Mark isn't at perfect 90 degrees?
"Critiques are vultures."
"Well, vultures feed on dead things. And your movie is like roadkill."
:-D
Ok, that one was really funny.
This gives me hope that my film might be made one day if these got the green light!
Think we all knew Dirty Grandpa would top the list. Thank you soooo much for including London Has Fallen in the top 3. Hated that film with a passion!!!
The two films on the list I TRIED to watch were "Rock The Kasbah" and "Gods of Egypt". Lasted about a half-hour, each one. Dreadful.
Fun fact Alex Proyas's last film was Knowing with Nicholas Cage.
Kermode roasting that director was awesome
London has fallen sucked, but was really enjoyable nonetheless (contrary to Suicide Squad)...
been looking forward to this
Thank u for putting Dirty Grandpa at #1
Sounds like he hated Dirty Grandpa even more than Pain and Gain ! I didn't think that was possible.
This video has made me want to watch some of these XD
Does Mark actually think White House Down is better than Olympus Has Fallen? WHAT THE HELL?!!

We still get the odd gem like Fury Road or Dredd.
As if Gods or Egypt cost $140,000,000. Made $31,000,000 at the box office. Is that the biggest loss since Ishtar?
Before looking I hope Dirty Grandpa is number 1
This leads to an interesting question...
Dirty Grandpa or Bride Wars?
Oh I know what will be worse than Dirty Grandpa. There's a film coming out September time called Laid in America. It stars CZcamsrs KSI and Casper Lee. You can already tell its gunna be awful.
Still baffled that God's not Dead 2 didn't make the cut.
See, I just thought Dirty Grandpa was a generically bad bro comedy. There wasn't much worse in that film than there was in, for example, Hangover 2.
Theres a populer story simulation online game about this exact consept minus the Efron
I love your snarky attitude, Mark. Keep being funny.
XD
I know we are over half way through, but you should do a "worst films of the decade", out of all your "worst films of the year" lists
Goodness me!!! The last time i came this early....She left me. ;))
Your mother? Aww.
isthatcalico Na..It was your mother...Your Dad was Soooo much better than her.
Just wait until Nine Lives.
Mmmm, I'm off to see Gods of Egypt and Dirty Granpa!
I am looking forward to watching the Costner film and London has fallen. Good actors in the first one and I enjoyed the first has fallen movie.. On a side note, I cannot understand why bvs isn't number 1..honestly...
when mark gets out the clorox you know it must be bad
Can anyone remember anything that Kevin Costner has done that raises above the mediocre?
Before I watch this my predictions for the top three are London has fallen, gods of Egypt and dirty grandpa- hope I'm right
Okay I genuinely did not look before I just knew how much mark hated those top 2
Gods of Egypt was not quite bad enough to be good and was far too bad to be good but it sure was entertaining. I would watch it again
Wooden acting line got me
I expected to see Hateful Eight in the top (bottom?) ten, though perhaps not in the top five.
I'm genuinely shocked that Grimsby isn't on this list.
Nine Lives can happen between now and December.
What's he done to his arm?
If you thought Dirty Grandpa was dirty... watch Brothers Grimsby.
Dirty Grandpa is my #1. The Brothers Grimsby is my #2.
I can't agree with the Green Inferno, there were at least 91 worst movies in 2016 than The Green Inferno.
'I felt like I needed to bathe in Clorox'
You are SO wrong about Dirty Grandpa.
It's at least 5 billion times worse than that.
Is 'brainsplant' a word? I mean, I'm sure it is as the good doctor used it.. just saying I didn't know.
have been WAITING for this ...... Mark.
So you've yet to see Sucker Punch, I mean Suicide Squad then?
seriously BvS at number 10?? :O
I know right??? Should have been number 1
+The DC Collector As the worst? Maybe.
Mark, we need to talk. The "Bathing in Clorox" thing has gone too far!
Ghostbusters not in Top 10?
You can always bet there will be a Gerard Butler film in the top ten but he has excelled himself this year with two entries.
I sorta got the feeling that you may not have enjoyed Dirty Grandpa..?
What no God's Not Dead 2?
Gods of egypt was plain dumb fun. Will watch it again
Alex Proyas ain't gonna like this, awaiting an angry social media post.
Wheres The Brothers Gimsby?
5:11 Speak for yourself, Kermode!
Why, Robert De Niro?
....Why?
$$$
No, I'm pretty sure he's still being offered good roles. I think he actually consciously makes these choices.
I think for some reason De Niro has become obsessed with adding a comedic layer to his repertoire. He seems to genuinely believe in these horrendous comedy films, and comedy roles he accepts. Sad, as his earlier work is the stuff of genius.
So that he can continue to fund the Tribeca film festival and other projects, that's why.
For this movie, I pray to God De Niro wins the Razzie for Worst Actor. Give the movie Razzies for Worst Picture, Director, Screenplay and On-Screen Combo as well.
What do you think of Suicide Squad? I laughed through the whole thing for all the wrong reasons
Well, this had me laughing throughout.
- Just thought I'd share that... ...What?
Mark being shady at #2
Poor Gerard Butler, 2 & 3. Mark do you like any of his films?
Where is this man speaking from? HAL's brain?
Comedies can only be properly judged when watched: alone, sober and in a neutral mood. There's not a lot of movies that suddenly aren't that funny then.
Gods of Egypt was horrible, but it was exactly the kind of bonkers mess I was expecting and as a result I kind of enjoyed it.
