    Did you rinse your leca first?

      Yes I did. It removes the Leca dust. Usually rinse them till the water runs clear.

    what's the purpose of the white rock layer? is that necessary?

      Hello there 🌿. Adding a layer of pebble “Top dressing” can serve some purposes but in this case it is being used in a decorative way. I have seen shes some people add a small layer of rocks on top of their potted house plants to prevent and minimize certain pests such as fungus gnats.
