  • While playing I kept thinking about wolves howling.
I recently received the ROAT and have been really enjoying it. I think it pairs really well with the Lyra and Cosmos. I truly love the binary page navigation.
in this instance I am running the ROAT into the external input of the Lyra and sending the output of the Lyra to the Cosmos.
I am using the Cosmos with one of the more complex granular algorithms and keeping the FB very short.
For the ROAT I am using each voice with an LFO to generate a rhythm. during the video I am mostly adjusting the filter and resonance parameters.
Thanks to Soma and for making such amazing instruments that give me inspiration every day.

Current ROAT owner - future Lyra owner (I think) - this is a really lovely jam. I love how the ROAT is such a noisy little bastard but settles in so nicely in drone and ambient contexts.

I purchased a Cosmos recently and it's honestly the best gear purchase in a long time. So creatively inspiring.

Brilliantly restrained use of drone. I can hear those wolves. Keep up the great work. This has inspired me to fig out my diy 18oscillator box and some dirt/delay pedals. Thank you.

4:39 first impression it sounds like egyptian tubes. I see cats shadows and Pyramids in sandy desert but not wolves in a dark forest. And it confirmed more and more to this timestamp

Hey there I am two thirds of the way to you on this SOMA journey. The Lyra-8 is awesome and the Cosmos is on its way. Not heard of the ROAT before. Really intense and somewhat eerie great soundscape.

Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I truly love your synth design, Kakos Nonos. Great sound, it's portable, and the binary pages system is awesome. I love that I can navigate menus and play it with my eyes closed. 😀 I look forward to your future creations.😊

Soma is a great inspiration for what electronic instruments can be. They are a profoundly important part of my life and I am eternally grateful to what Vlad and the Soma team have made available to the musicians.
When I heard the Lyra for the first time I thought....these are the sounds I hear in my head, haha. 😃

Thanks! Yeah, they're awesome. Certainly some of the most innovative instruments I've used. I also love being able to play with my eyes closed, and Soma stuff is great for that.

That's really cool. I was eyeing up the Lyra 8 the other day... it's like the synth of Satan. Rumble of Ancient Times worth the money? I have just bought a Korg Minilogue XD to learn on but will definitely be investing in more hardware. Great sounds btw!

Not sure where I am from ;) Ehule is a family name....never been able to find an exact meaning but I found a paper once that said it had Yiddish roots and meant "weaver". I feel like I weave sounds so it felt like it fit.
