I was looking up sweep picking lessons or something and it was this guy teaching. I know nothing of him besides that one video. But I was like how can he play anything so damn clean effortlessly. Makes sense now a killer player for decades.

I was at the gig in Newcastle (not sure the year, sorry, over 30 years ago), it was at The Mayfair (no longer exists)
First a support band, then some McLaughlin, then Ozzy. Ozzy's band at the time was Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, Randy Costello, and ofc Ozzy.
After the gig, me and 2 friends waited around the back of the hall for Ozzy to get autographs (and share a joint with Ozzy) with a bunch of others.
I remember my friend waiting for Bill Ward (who he idolized) and waving the guy out in his car not realising it was him. We all laughed at that.
Somebody asked "that kid Mclaughlin is cool", or words to that effect, to which Ozzy said "he's a spoiled little shit".
Mind you, when we asked about Sabbath or Dio or Toni Iommi, Ozzy wasnt nice about them either. Maybe he was just tired and having a bad day.
Gig itself was good though, and Mclaughlin was damn skilled for a kid.
He seems like a chill guy. Great playing!

Thomas is a monster. I remember seeing him all the way back in the day when the "Nineteen" video came out. He was rockin' as a kid, and Danny from Salute Your Shorts (and Dirt bike Kid) was singing. It was a fun video.

My dad saw Thomas on tv on the morning of monsters of rock 88, he thought he was gonna play on stage, we were all a little disappointed we didn’t see him. ‘88 was the last of the good monsters events.

Remember the first time I saw this kid playing guitar was in an Arena documentary on metal on UK TV back in the '80's. Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Napa Death, Sabbath etc. we're featured and then some kid shredding on a Jem in a pub. At the time, and as a 12 year old wannabe shredder myself, I was convinced he was faking it and that no way could a kid younger than me shred like that! I may have been wrong about that...

If you think he a prodigy you need to check out Taj Farrant. He's from Australia about 11 or 12 and unbelievable. Can write his own music. This guy you had on was a good copy player. Then he grew into do his own music. Taj is already doing his own music.
You are joking right? Do u know what? Vai made a band called Bad4Good n Thomas play as main guitarist. He is really young when the band formed. Maybe 13 or 14yo. Vai is his mentor n friend. Please dont underestimate someone if u really dont know about him
Mcrocklin was in a band called bad4good and they released an album when he was 13 years old!!! He also released a solo album around that time also.

I played drums since 4 and guitar since 8. I was like this kid. Until I was abducted and sold in sex trafficking. But I did escape and now I am trying my best to reach out for president Trump about a song my dad wrote for America. The whole town is talking about that song. Im still being stalked but i am in a protection program for victims like myself. Now I am working on being heard. I am like Randy Rhodes, I love to learn and take lessons from other guitarists who have different views. Just a woman who can rock.
Anyone can be better than you... But what makes you be unique are not your skills but creation.... You sound different, your tone, your tempo etc... that’s why it’s difficult to make comparisons on guitar players basing only in the skill..
