- We performed a battery of tests and evaluations and compare the performance of five (5) contemporary factory-equipped CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System) “ink-tank” AiO printers from Brother, Canon, Epson and HP to that of first-generation factory-equipped CISS AiO printers and add-on kits.
This video shows the unboxing and setup procedures. All of the systems tested utilize bottled ink. We recommend that you pay the most attention to the ink filling procedures.

I used to use an Epson ET-2550 czcams.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.
Just want to say thank you for the video. I just gave myself a g3200 for Christmas and this video made unboxing and setup a breeze.
This video is still useful 4 years later, including with the G2010 which I've just bought. Thanks, Terry!

Not clear: If alarm lite blinks (triangle with lightning bolt - orange lit, below the on/off button) open up the top and go to the color and black print heads. Push the two JOINT BUTTONS 14:34, if you forget, or miss this like I did, the alarm lite will blink and printer will not work. See #7 on start page, or 14:34 on this video. Thanks for video.

I thought refillable ink printers don't have any cartrdiges. What are the cartridges for? And after how much time do we need to change them?
I have the Epson and there was no problem to install ink. actually was more foolproof filling than this one. also you are not supposed to squeeze Epson bottles. they just drip in.
I owned an epsonL210. After 2 years I bought this printer the Canon G2000. I love it ....performs better than Epson.

Shidhin Das when you put it on option on draft.. draft also prints clear by the way, you will have get about B&W 7,000 to 8,000 copies. In colour will be about 7,000. That's a lot of print in draft even. Canon is also actually a photo printer.
Canon is way far better than Epson! Get Canon G2000... I recommend it strongly.

is this more durable than epson l220?
Out-of-box durability should be comparable. However the Canon has sturdier construction and should not require professional servicing for a full waste tank.
There selling now in USA. Any follow up feedback on how it's performing?
We have not heard anything since we tested it, and it performed quite well. The only downsides were slow printing at times accompanied by clunking sounds. We still feel that the HP Deskjet GT 5820 is a better printer.

I am sure that good quality aftermarket inks will work but since the Canon ink is so cheap already, whey take any chances?

These types of printer seems common in the Philippines now.

You will run out of patience and the printer will probably run out of ink first. There is no retail price for the print heads (that are sold as parts not consumable supplies). However, unlike Epson and Brother they are user replaceable and should not be too expensive because they are based on common ink cartridges.

Can it still print in grayscale when colour ink ran out?
Stefan, the unit holds a lot of cheap color ink so it would be hard to run it out any time soon. However, grayscale printing uses minutes amounts of color ink so you will only be able to use the "black only" print setting.

Only the black OEM ink is pigment. I cannot vouch for the performance of CYM third-party pigment inks.

We only keep them for a few weeks so I cannot tell you. Canon makes good stuff though and it had comparatively good build quality, so I would predict minimal long-term problems with this unit.

It depends on what you are printing. For comparison purposes, published ink yields are based on 5% area coverage per color.
can it support 8.5x13 paper?
Yes but you have to go into both your printer (control panel or Remote UI) and software application settings (MS Office, etc.) and designate it as a custom paper size.
