I myself always felt that the evolution of Blue's Eevee in Yellow is to determine the difficulty for the player based on his first two battles, but it indeed makes perfect sense that it also fits Blue from character personality and story perspectives. Amazing video once again dude.

In gen 9 you can click the right stick in battle to get the "cinematic" view......... Assuming you aren't on a hill or clipping into a wall etc.
I'm pretty sure the clock reset was a debug tool, hence why it was both hidden _and_ required an obscure password.
Maybe something you had to call Nintendo Support in order to do? Not sure why they’d lock it away like that, but it’s theoretical.
So you're probably familiar with the Mew glitch, right?
The one where you can use Fly and a Youngster's Slowpoke to get Mew in Yellow in the wild naturally?
Well, you can do it way earlier - if you use Abra's Teleport instead; use Teleport, while in the line of sight of the Camper in the grass next to Nugget Bridge, to start, then fight the Slowpoke Youngster (making sure he walks to you), Teleport back to Cerulean, then walk back to Nugget Bridge and initiate the final part of it.
Done this countless times!
And do it again and fight the swimmer in Misty's gym the second time and walk back up to the bridge to get your second mew before your second badge

I knew about being able to hit digging and flying foes but I had no idea about hitting diving foes!
I think the reason behind Kadabra evolving even when traded with an everstone is because of the massive information that Kadabra gets from the internet.
I assumed that Blue evolves his Eevee into Jolteon so it could tank your electric type hits rather than trying to mimic you. I mean, his team is all about power and balance. It makes sense if he wanted a way to counter your partner Pokémon.
The clock thing was probably just something that they added for debugging and didn't bother to take out.
I knew I think half of those but was amazed to learn the ones I didn't!
I thought you were going to talk about the weird circumstance that you can get a gift tentacool but only if you strand yourself on Cyanwood city by releasing all of your pokemon that can learn surf and you don't have the fishing rod. So very few people would have seen that. It's there for a failsafe so tentacool can surf you back to Olivine.

11:00 i just going to mention that both stored power and power trip have a potential base power of 860 because every stat boost the user gets = a +20 base power to the move
I didnt play gen 9, but wasn’t there a move in either there or gen 8 that could reach (i believe) 5,050 BP? I think it was a signature move of an otherwise not too spectacular Pokémon

The move is a base 50 power move that then gain another 50 every time a pokemon in your own team faints
The move then max out at 5050 BP when your pokemon have fainted 100 times in a single battle

I always assumed Kadabra still evolves despite the Everstone is the same reason why there haven't been any Kadabra TCG cards around that time: the Yuri Geller case, in which he was suing Pokemon for having a creature of his likeness and similar name in Japanese.
I've always hated that guy and still to this very day
Good news, he recently had a change of heart and is easing up on it, having seen how wholesome Pokemon is meant to be (even if it still has some dark moments), and admitted that he understands Kadabra wasn't meant to be an attack on him at all.

I remember randomly triggering the Clock Reset in Gold, and my friend was so pissed off because I can manipulate the time of day in evolving or capturing pokemon that are time based. To this date, I still dont know how it happened 😂

It does. I injected my old real save file in order to transfer to bank and home and tried it just for the giggles.
We still had the internet and gamefaqs in the 2000s, Changing the clock wasn't that bad to do. Some of the sites from back then are still up. But for the internet limited people we were, the Library in pokemon stadium 2 was a godsend.

Had no idea about changing the clock in GSC or the double battle toggle in Gen 3! I moved a lot as a kid, so resetting the clock would have been really nice. Also, Deidara the Golem using Explosion made me snort. A normal type that can explode is just an automatic KO

I remember gen 1 swift was a move that could hit fly or dig also. Haven’t seen that move in a long time.
Overworld Ability effects are one of them. I did not know about those until I noticed how the overworld Pokémon appear, despite being a thing since Emerald.
You can actually go back to the teamstar bases and ring the bells by the entrances and you can do the tasks again
The glitch with kadabra holding everstone and still evolves is kinda interesting. I think I know how the glitch works in gen4+:
They programmed a table into the games which controls the evolutions with everstone via trade. Kadabra is the first Pokémon in the list on the Pokédex which makes it number 0 (most tables in programming begin with 0, so 0,1,2,3...).
But in the function itself they begun with the number 1 instead. So Karabra is in the table but will be skipped due to the fact how tables are loaded.
Imo this can be the reason why Kadabra does evolve with an everstone. I also think they knew about the glitch but didn't fix it because they forget about it. It's like: "I have to do this little thing." and you forget it in the next couple of days xD

I'm pretty sure Fissure gets a 100% hit rate when used against a pokemon that used Dig. But that may have just been my luck in the game of the few times I had that occur.
In gen 4, you can hold the stylus on the Pokemon cry screen to slow down the cry

I really like the in-universe reasoning behind what the results of the 1st 2 rival battles will give you in terms of which of the 1st 3 Eeveelutions Blue chooses for future battles afterwards. It's a really nice touch.
Nice video - some of these are super obscure. It always bugged me that GameFreak chose and continues to choose not to make EVs and IVs more explicit in game. They started to get better in Gen 6 with super training, but even then, I don’t think they’ve ever had a dedicated screen or menu for it. I feel like it discourages newcomers from wanting to learn about them, and just annoys the players who want to track the info more easily.
Blue going with a Vaporeon could also, easily, just be that his favorite of the three, at the time, eeveelutions go in order of Vaporeon, Flareon, and then Jolteon and him pushing against his preferences in order to have an advantage rather than lose
You probably know about Steven's Skarmory using Toxic on a pokémon with Guts, but something similar happens in DPPT. If Dawn/Lucas has Chimchar and you send out a pokémon with the flash fire ability in the first battle against Team Galactic, she will use ember on your pokémon to trigger its ability. I don't know for certain if this happens in later battles because I wasn't able to trip it, but I imagine it would happen as well.
Isn't the Whimsicott learning all its moves at lv 1 something that happens with all stone evolutions before gen 9?
Imagine another Pokemon Yellow remake where your first 3 battles impact Blue's Eevee evolution giving all 8 Eeveelutions based on outcomes. Funny enough we would still stay with Vaporeon for 3 loses and Jolteon for 3 wins with the rest in between. I could see Leafon in case of 2 wins and 1 lose since electric is resisted by Grass.

Appearently I discovered another glitch in Pokémon yellow, if you nicknamed the Pokémon you got Via with a glitch and then try to withdraw it from the PC, the game will softlock itself and the reason why this happens is because the game won’t recognize the glitched Pokémon you got so it doesn’t know what to do and it softlocks your game.
you mean a Pokémon obtained via the "mew glitch"? If so...How so? XD
I have only encountered the "hall of fame" glitch the first time I attempted the "escape from trainer" on emulator. I used the glitch on a real cart and nothing of the sort has happened yet.

Blue's eevee absolutely is being adjusted for difficulty. It's never been anything else.
I assume they had the clock reset function in there for testing the game during different times of the day. It was only for use in testing before release, but never planned to be a feature in the final game.

When you enter the Mahagony Town Team Rocket Hideout where you have to battle two pairs of Team Rocket one right after the other per surveillance camera Persian statues. If you were to battle the scientist in the middle of the room and then talk to his computer. You can actually turn off the surveillance cameras and don't have to battle Team Rocket grunts.

Time changing feature in GSC was almost definitely there for the programmers to bug test.
The Gen 2 clock mechanic sounds like a feature the Dev team would have used to test day/night encounter rates more quickly.
Surf hits pokemon using dive... that's the only one I can think of unless you count stomp doing double damage and negating evasion boosts on minimized pokemon.
XY the trees and rocks behind your opponent could be hit with certain moves, mostly aoe moves, and if the battle ended in a win you would get an item from what you destroyed: berry from trees and rocks/crystals from the rocks.

In at least gen 3 two turn moves have a coding error where they'll perform both turns as one but this only works if the target uses protect but they get hit anyway so it's as if protect failed

I think the thing is that it's a frankly ridiculous number. And as the guy above said, there aren't that many two-stage lines that use a stone. (As a fun aside, I believe there's _still_ only one pokémon that can evolve at level one that can evolve again, five generations after the introduction of its evolution. Which gives said evolution a unique trait...)

As for Explosion halving defense, I am a mixed. On one hand, I can see player's cheesing the game with Explosion plus revive. From a competitive perspective, this takes away the reason for it taking up a move slot.
I think fissure not getting double damage on Pokemon who use dig is unnecessary.
Try using Stomp on a pokémon that used Minimize.

pokemon couldn't function with self-destruct because that world cant coexist with Sue's Side like the real world does. Sue's Side is so human, that nothing outside of human can really reconcile it.
