Collection of ambulances responding prio 1 (''code 3'') with siren and lights in different regions and cities around Sweden. Filmed by me between 2021 and 2023. In the video you can see ambulance units based on for example Volvo XC90, VW Transporter, Renault Master, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Vito , VW Amarok and some other models.

It's really interesting that brand new Chevrolet Silverado ambulance still has rotators! They got very rare in past years, even old firetrucks still in service variously over Europe got them replaced with LED lightbars, I can see that also in my country (CZ). Nice compilation, Renault Master was my fav. Only few countries use them as ambulances, mainly Romania and France, and in much less numbers also Poland and Sweden, anywhere else are rare or none, although they are said to be very reliable and good equipped.

What an amazing compilation. I was surprised to see Chevs being used in Sweden, especially with diesel prices being 7.30 SEK/litre more than here. We had them and Ford F-250/F-350 ambulances here in Australia for many years, but now Mercedes Sprinter 316 models are the backbone of Australian ambulance fleets. Are Swedish ambulances privately owned? There were many different company/region names on them. I doubt I'd like to work out of the Volvos-look too small and cramped. The Akutläkare Volvo had me checking on Google translate. Having emergency physicians attending cases in the community is rare in Australia. You might see a doctor on an ambulance helicopter accompanying a paramedic or in a large city depending on which state you're in, but mostly specialist paramedics are trained to perform most procedures a doctor would, like field amputations, blood infusions and administering of specialist drugs. I'd love to find out what drugs and procedures Swedish paramedics are trained in. Cheers from an Australian paramedic.

Thank you. There is a long tradition of American ambulances and even fire engines in Sweden. Even the police have used many American models over the years. Some healthcare regions have used Chevrolet ambulances for nearly 50 years now. Each healthcare region (21 in total, one for each county) decides for itself how their ambulance healthcare is to be carried out. Some run it with own staff and vehicles, some others use private contractors as for example Falck. Akutläkare is a special unit staffed with a anesthesiologist and a experienced nurse (paramedic is not a term used in Sweden, it is different levels of nurses in the ambulances). There are only a handful of this type of unit in the whole country so it's not common. Many different ambulances used in Sweden: utryckningsfordon.se/ambulanser/

@@EmergencyScandinavia Many thanks for a detailed response. Just like in Sweden our ambulance services vary, but from state to state. Each state is responsible for providing such a service. Most have state government owned and run services, except Western Australia and the Northern Territory-They allocate that to St. John Ambulance. Interesting to read about the crew mix on Swedish ambulances. Our paramedics are trained to a level higher than a registered nurse, and after 4 years of training can work autonomously.

Är mycket svårt att fånga den på utryckning då den går som transportambulans och kör primärt endast prio 3 uppdrag (planerade tansporter/överflyttningar).

Finns ingen sådan knapp som kan styra alla rödljus. Räddningstjänst och ambulans brukar däremot kunna styra enstaka rödljus nära stationerna. Polisen kan oftast inte styra något alls.
