I'm a retired NY Subway train operator. On a Manhattan-bound D train at Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, a male rider suddenly ran off right before the doors closed. In doing so, his attaché case fell back under the seat. My conductor told me this at the next stop, Dekalb Ave. We were told to take the train out of service, proceed over the Manhattan Bridge to meet the police at W 4th St. With only a portion of the first car at the platform, I met the bomb squad. (Those two guys were the BEST-DRESSED cops I ever saw!) They put their outfits on and went back to the car in the middle of the train, still in the tunnel. Turned out it just had buttons, clothing ssmples, etc. The guy later showed up at the Coney Island terminal asking if anyone turned it in.

We need to step it up, be harmonious and strive for advancement in gene modification, intergalactic exploration and whatever comes next.
