Fun fact: Barbershop quartets originated because barbershop used to do way more than just cut hair - they'd pull teeth, perform surgeries, bloodlet, etc. So the managers would hire singers to mask the screaming from the customers, which is why I found it so funny that the barbershop quartet were in an operating room.
Fascinating. Follow up question, why did they do surgeries and tooth pulling in addition to haircuts?

edit: barbershops used an array of sharp metal tools, and going there was cheaper than the local physician, so i suppose the barbershops advertised themselves as a more cost-effective alternative to the actual doctor. sounds dangerous, but to be fair, the doctor probably wouldn't do a much better job anyway, since anaesthesia wasn't a thing at that time.

TheRock Kha it was when women were using the hashtag metoo, in response to being sexually assaulted. It has good intentions but some women abused this and it made men start to worry about girls making shit up

The only 2 upsides, and one is arguable at best, it got hollywoods terrible nature exposed to open air and burned a large part of the so called "pussy pass", the ability for someone to be believed unconditionally and treated better for the sole reason of possessing a vagina.
