Thanks so much, that was very helpful Rod. Now I’m looking at your paintings to try and identify those composition techniques and you’ve made me look closer at the photos I’ve taken too.
It would be interesting if after each composition sketch you could show one of your paintings using that style as an example. You could even superimpose the computer sketch overtop of the original photo to demonstrate what you saw when you took the photo, and talk about the adjustments you made to it to make a better composition. The more you share the more I want to know:) Thank you again.

Thanks for this video lesson, Rod. I've often wondered why I've lingered over a painting in a gallery or show while others at the same show barely kept my interest. I can see now that it was the design composition used by the artist. This is another element I'll consciously use when painting.
