There was probably just a helicopter landing area in San Thong since it was so close to Long Tieng and was probably located about 1000' directly north of that karst in the wide flat area with a few buildings .... @6:48 where your location dot is near that 90 degree turn you had to make before going up into the mountains.
A lil thing I missed in the other vids at Long Tieng, while on the strip and looking at the karsts,on top of the mountain to the right (in the area of the Mouak Mt. marker on google maps, about 1500' west) there was another helicopter landing area and you can still see the outlines of earthworks there.
Once I get the chance to move there I think I'll just travel, get a 4x4 pack-mule something like a van or pickup with a bed cap or a vehicle like the one @11:47 would be fine...lol.Would love to import my '68 Bronco, there's one in Bangkok, think it's yellow, white, and blue.Pack it up with water, extra fuel, tools, some water, etc. and just travel and live from it (if not against the law...lol).I've lived, played, and worked (logger) in the woods all my life,I'd love to be out there just traveling those mountains. That route 23? you traveled a lil while back, that would be the type of roads I'd like to travel.

I am Hmong and seeing you go visit my people is special. I only remember little about village life. Your past videos about the airport, General Vang Pao, etc...were great too. I grew up in that country with war torn era since birth to 17 yrs of age. Age 15 took up m16, Carbine, M1 rifle with CIA against Vietkong leftist Laos and Hochimin north Vietnam soldiers. Escaped death and destruction from that country 42 yrs ago.

    Thank you for the upload.
I’m a city boy through n through and know nothing about “off road “ ( but I have driven through a muddy car park on occasion haha)
In the parts of the road you call steep , are you in 4wd? On the muddy part where the truck was being pulled ? Did you need 4wd?
Be interesting to know in your vids when you need it :-)

      Hey dude.. muddy carpark 😆👍
When in doubt.. I always use 4x4. It's much better than not and regretting it. Where the truck got stuck, if you kept momentum up 2 wheels may have got us through, but we had no idea how hard that surface was under the mud. Once you're stuck, it makes it a lot harder to get out then. Caution is your friend on quiet roads like these 👌
      Cheers 👍
