  • Starfield is a game that you either hate or love. After nearly a year later I still think that the game has a lot of potential yet is Bethesdas biggest disappointment. In this video I go over why I believe it failed in what it tried to achieve and why I think it's so disappointing.

      I know yes but it was published under Bethesda and developed using the same enegine, I probably should’ve clarified that in the video though

    would of liked 10 planets that are hand crafted then 1000 planets shoved in a automated generation tool.

      Absolutely one of the biggest mistakes they made IMO, bigger isn’t always better

    You are completely wrong about there being nothing to explore. I have come across plenty of quests in the wild, and contracts taken at outposts. Planets vary a lot more than I first thought initially and there are some absolutely beautiful moments in the game. Yes, most of it is not handcrafted (although there are a lot of handcrafted experiences in the galaxy) but what is there is enough to feel like it belongs in the world and it worth pursuing.
    250 hours into my current playthrough and I've completely changed my mind about this game. I think all the negativity upon release clouded my vision (I felt the same way you did when I first finished the game). I think if everyone gave it a second chance and REALLY dove in, they would change their minds

    I could have forgiven so much and really liked this game a lot if not for the loading screens. They completely ruined it for me. I literally spent more time watching fast travel cutscenes and loading screens than playing the game. I turned the game off and never tried it again. What a shame!

    • @M1zzyMaz
      @M1zzyMaz  Před 27 dny

      Biggest turn off for me too along with the lack of exploration that was offered. Not sure how they managed to put a loading screen behind entering buildings and some really simple stuff😅

    I have tried three times now to get into this game. I played five hours and got to New Atlantis. It was so boring I literally couldn't continue. Awful uninspired fetch quests while there are only about five NPCs walking around what is supposed to be a massive hub. Skyrim was fantastic, FO4 was ok, Starfield is a joke

    I loved this game when it came out. I put 300+ hours into it. Then I ran out of content. I decided to do exploration instead of questing. I got bored of the procedurally generated terrain and copy-paste outposts after or four planets. Real letdown.

    • @M1zzyMaz

    They aren't gamers in that studio, they don't play their own products. They just make it good enough to sell millions of copies to people who are used to buying "Bethesda Games" because that's what they grew up with. Based on only merit, Bethesda would stop existing as a developer.

    • @M1zzyMaz
      @M1zzyMaz  Před 29 dny

      I agree starfield launched in a nearly as bad state as cyberpunk did, yet didn’t even get 80% of the backlash because it’s “Bethesda”

    • @skyriminspace
      @skyriminspace Před 28 dny

      @@M1zzyMazcyberpunk's biggest 2 problems at launch were that they made a really next gen game & told people it would work on their ps4.
      Secondly, they talked a big talk about what their game could do, but the game couldn't walk the walk. Missing & incomplete features.
      Bethesda learned from CDPR's mistakes. Did not release on last gen tech, & despite tge incredible production value, actually made the 45 minute "starfield direct" a bit more down to earth.
      Not to mention the 8 or 9 month delayed release date resulting in the most polished Bethesda release by far.

    not making this multiplayer was a crime. I'd be happier with a completely empty universe, just given to the players, imagine getting a group together to go raid a real players base, outpost or something similar. I dont mind paying for mods but they really need to stop getting skimpy and bleeding every one dry on xbox and creations. I just watch the prices of these stupid riduclous mods keep going up and up in price while offering less and less

      Co-op definitely would’ve made this game a lot more interesting with some PvP aspects. Every game is pretty much better with friends😅 sucks for Xbox players but for PC players you’re just better off using Nexus Mods instead

    tbh Starfield was the most "bugfree" and stable experience at launch that Bethesda released. Oblivion, Fallout 3, 4, 76 and Skyrim was really awful and full of gamebreaking bugs and horrible performance. I'm not defending Starfield or Bethesda and Starfield have ALOT of problems.

    • @M1zzyMaz

  • @TheZamaron
    @TheZamaron Před 29 dny

    Yah, I'd agree te gane is decent. SOmetimes people are overly harsh with a product. It doesn't always need to be perfect or amazing. As long as it hits some decent basics it's up to you if you enjoy it or not. Currently playing STarfield modded and man once I've used mods to get past some of the terrible aspects like the challange system for getting perks which forced you to have to focus unorganically on doin those challanges, dealign with the low vendor credit amount, and removed the ship part restrictions, I've actually been enjoying the game, it still has story problems, but it's not a terrible story. THis game is objectively better now that mods are out, as any issues Bethesda doesn't fix we the players can, give it a few years and we'll probably see whole expansion level mods. One idea I hope for is a 2nd Colony War mod, which could ideally work by needing a trigger, but this would lock you out of certain quests such as the one in the Altair System as that has UC and FC working together. THe ideal mod would have certain systems as "core worlds" and a bunch of randomly chosen systems the factions would sieze, from there random battle occur with random fleet numbers and you'd have a limited time to join, factions win or lose battle and lose territory, in time launching a massive space and ground battle for the essential location of each faction, ending finally at their capital.

    People who "hate" Starfield are some of the most selfish, self entitle, spoiled brats I can think of. Starfield may not be a gourmet 5 course, 5 star meal, but at the very least it's a damn good Double Whopper with cheese, and I for one think these buffoons shouldn't complain about their food when their mouth is full. I've been playing Starfield for several hundred hours now, and I'm still having a ball.
