Starting your own business is one of the most rewarding things you can do, and this video is here to help you get some inspiration! I sold handmade jewelry and this adjustable bracelet was one of the bestsellers. These go really well at craft fairs since you can sell them fairly cheaply ($10 - $14) and people love buying small items. If you don't actually want to sell the products, then many of these DIYs also make good Xmas gift ideas.
ADJUSTABLE KNOT BRACELET TIPS:
1) Knot keeps falling apart
Your starting threads were not in the right order. The "yellow" thread should be underneath the red one, and needs to wrap around the other threads. Try pausing the video to check that your threads look the same as shown.
2) Run out of cord when trying to tie knot
Start again giving yourself more thread to work with. It's generally easier to work with a longer cord so you can cut more from the beginning. Though as you get more experienced, you can try reducing the length to save material costs.
3) Knot doesn't slide along the cord / Knot looks messy
This means the loops got tangled with each other when you were pulling them tight. Try to do this part very slowly and use your fingertips to keep the loops separate from each other.
4) Bracelet ends up too small or too big
Practise overlapping the cords at different lengths so you get a feel for how big the final bracelet will be.

Would you be able to make a video on packaging diy’s to sell that’s the one thing I’ve had the most trouble with since I’m starting my own business soon 😊
I know I'm not Maqaroon but maybe I can offer advice? I've had a small online shop for two years.
When packaging to ship, your priorities will be, in order, 1-the safety of the item in shipping, 2-professional packaging, and 3-cost.
Your number one goal is to make sure your items arrive to your customers intact. If that means you need to invest in bubble wrap and boxes, so be it. If those cute mailing envelopes won't provide enough protection, you'll have to go another route. Depending on how fragile your merchandise is, consider checking in with your first few customers to make sure everything was okay.
Your second goal is to make sure your shipping looks like it's coming from a real business. You should double check that your shipping labels are printed and cut cleanly, but you can also add little touches like internal packaging. I sell jewelery, so I invested in backing cards/tags, and organza (later velvet) bags that I put the items in. Presentation can be the difference between a 3 star shop and a 5 star shop, not to mention drives up perceived value of your merchandise. Very important.
Now finally, cost. People will pay more for a better product, but you want it to still be affordable for your target audience to maximize sales. All costs you incur will trickle down to your customers, so it's important to be mindful. Shop around to get the best prices for shipping materials. Also, people tend to dislike high shipping costs so if possible, add a bit to the item price to keep perceived shipping cost lower.

That's a great question and Abigail's answer is incredibly good! I agree that the trick is to make your packaging look as professional as possible while keeping the costs low. I would often look for deals on business cards from printing websites, and then design my packaging in that format. It often works out cheaper per piece than if you used a custom sized card. There are also fixed sizes for flyers, postcards etc that you can adapt for jewellery packaging. Another method is to print lots of stickers of your logo and use that on generic packaging which is usually much cheaper to find. Aliexpress and Etsy are good places to look for packaging supplies...though definitely do a lot of comparisons because the prices can differ a lot!

Aww thank you so much! I actually discovered the bracelet when I was in Paris 6-7 years ago...I went into a shop where they sold gold charms and the shop owner/designer made me a bracelet just like this one when I bought some of her charms. I thought it looked amazing and decided to learn it myself 😂

I made keyboard piece bracelets using Joanna's knit bracelet for a school "Livelihood Fair" (basically, we make or propose our own products and once they're approved, we can sell them at the fair, like a simulation of product pitching; also it had to be computer-themed for us so keyboard piece it was).
Btw, I looked at the description and it said her bracelets sold for $10-15 and I'm over here just planning to sell one bracelet for 5-10 pesos (which is equivalent to a few cents in the US) but I guess she would've sold them online so a lot of other stuff stack.
I'm also planning on selling computer mouse necklaces. 🙂

A long time ago, my aunt sent me a kit for making bracelets, and it was really fun to make. When I finished a few, I wore some of it to school, and my classmates were asking where I got it, or if they could buy them. So it turned into a small business. Back then, I thought it wouldn't sell because it was "useless". But, after knowing they'd want to buy it, it gave me a whole new perspective of everything.

I showed my mom some of your videos, and she was convinced to buy some hearty clay for me! Thanks, I quite enjoyed making animals out of kits sold at the dollar store for 1.25$, and I enjoyed them quite a bit. But now, I’m sure I’ll get more fun with more colour options and quantity! I’ll be sure to make some of your crafts after watching your tutorials and give them my mother.

Is it just me or does this video feel strangely forced? Or that she isn't really happy? It's just the weird amount of jumpcuts after ever line she says, her facial expression that is clearly a very forced smile and right before the first ad around 0:55 you can see where she doesn't cut away fast enough and you can see her smile drop. Most of her other videos aren't like this and maybe she just had a bad day or something but I just noticed that it feels different, it may just be me though 😂😂
