I lost my 29 year old daughter on July 8, 2020 and then my mother on May 20, 2021. I listened to this several times a day for the last 2 years. It was a reminder to keep my eyes on the Lord and He will get me through. Well, I asked my pastor a year ago if he would sing this song one Sunday (he’s a singer). He responded by telling me that I should sing it (I have never sang alone). For a year, I continued to listen to this song and it reminded me daily that I had hope with Him. 2 months ago I was asked to be a part of the worship team and this past Sunday, I sang this (alone). This song is timeless. We buried our 44 year old son on December 13th, 2023. Heard it, had to play it at his funeral with the words for all to read. Our precious son fell into the world of addiction but most importantly he found THE LORD!. Aside from his trials and tribulations, he NEVER gave up on his faith and trust in God. One of his prayers was "thankyou for my pain and suffering because it keeps me humble before You". This song spoke to every one of our family members and I praise God for Mercy Me because I truly believe you compose, sing and share truthfully from the heart. it is helping keep me sane. God Bless!

I lost my eldest daughter over 13 years ago. That was so hard. She had used drugs, but after Chandesi's accident, which after surgery, resulted in her getting a bad staphylococcus infection. But of all the things she could have died from , the cause was Mixed Medicine Toxicity, which was the hospital's fault. I've forgiven them, but I still miss her.
I lost my youngest daughter and last living child by a drug overdose. Shali was in the first bunch dying mainly from Fentanyl almost 31/2 years ago.. It stays hard, not knowing where she is in eternity. The way she lived was some of the things the Bible says a person can't enter into heaven. I feel a numbness and anguish at the same time. She'd also took a lot of meth and crack. But if there was any hope of Salvation for her is in the scripture, " A smoldering wick I will not snuff out and a ( damaged ) reed I will not break."
I am 28 and was recently told that my epilepsy had returned. Which caused me to lose my job I began to stress over how i was going to care for my wife and I. SO I started praying and my brother and I had the same thought go back to school so far God has provided for us. I am a full time student at SDI and things are looking up I have not had a seizure in a while and I praise God himself for that. He has healed this once and I know he can again.

Every time I hear this song, it touches my heart, mind, and soul. It brings a powerful message of hope and encouragement. Today I featured it in an article I wrote on LinkedIn.
I have been told I'm the longest living Survivor of colon cancer. Die twice during the 12 hour operation. I saw my whole life and bright light at the end of the tunnel. God and I watch my whole operation! I had over 300 stitches and the next day told the doctors what happen. They gave me 2 years to live but God had other plans. Last Helloween I turn 70, they gave me 2 years in 1975!

There is a book called "For Women Only" by a lady named Shanti Feldham. We used this book in our women's bible study. It was written by a christian but can help anyone. I was so amazed at what we learned I brought it home and asked my husband to read it. We have always had a good marriage (24 years now) and we were both so supprised at how much we learned through it. It can help you understand the way each of you view the other, even in ways you has no idea about. Don't lose heart, just humble yourself before the Lord and pray and listen and he will work in your situation.

Through the good times and bad because I know He is sovereign. Sometimes I need a reminder of that, and this song makes me rearrange my thoughts to put Him first.

This song has special meaning. My friend couldnt bear to let go of her baby boy who stopped breathing in his sleep. The doctors couldnt save him because he was without oxygen too long . But she couldnt let go and dedicated her life to him taking care of him despite the doctors advising her to pull the plug. The next three years she struggled doing everything she could for him . On May 13 she made the decision to let go and give him to Jesus. Raziel Sebastian Anthony Palmer is now living a new life in Heaven. I have been suffering from clinical depression over and over and over, Year after Year after Year so much so that when it the depression hits I no longer fight it. I just lie in the bed on my back week after week after week.

The positives are:
1. I know eventually the depression will lift because God has brought me out of clinical depression before.
2. I know, like my wise mom has told me about other situations "This too shall pass".
3. My wise mom also said, "It came to pass". In other words the situation came just so it can pass.
4. I know enough not to throw a wrench in my spokes (bicycle spokes) or adding a snare to my life by speaking death to my life so for years during clinical depression I chose not to say anything at all.
...Now, I will ask God, "God when you choose to leave things unmovable, give me the strength to sing it: "Is Well with My soul"... or ask what have I done wrong? or ask God for the courage to correct what I already know the error is.

Religion is the belief in what man says and God says to have faith in him through the teachings you learn from reading his word and putting it into practice. I was facing anxiety, depression, and overall feeling of emptyness, I felt unloved, unwanted and alone, when I heard this song it brought me to tears, reading the comments here helped me realize that I wasn't alone, they helped me see that alot of people are still fighting the good fight and still holding on to God, I felt God's presence in my situation and I was reminded of his love, am greatful for the testimonies shared here,I pray God strengthens you , I pray that hope is made alive in you.

Mine is as well…other than my son’s suicide, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. Even though I don’t know you, I’m going to add a reminder to my calendar to pray for you every day.
Our 14 year old son passed away last July. It has been blinding, soul crushing, murky dark. He had a lot of medical problems but still nothing prepares you for the loss. I was with him until his final heartbeat. I know with everything in me that God's mighty hand could have saved him, made him whole, but God said no. It's a hard no to understand. My son was the sweetest, most loving child I have ever seen. He smiled from the time he woke up until he fell asleep at night. But Even if, Even though, He didn't answer my prayer the way I wanted, my hope is in him alone. This song has put into words what I could not.

Lost my father in law February 7th 2023 to cancer, a day before my 27th birthday. Lost my dad March 8th 2024, from cancer. It hurts so bad, but praise God, I will follow him, I will choose Jesus. Even in my brokenness my God is a good God, and my dads are believers, so I know they are with the lord. thank you Jesus 💔🙏

when I heard this song it just hit everything I've been going through so much pain suffering asking God take my mountain but He doesn't but keeps telling me to trust Him.and when I was playing this song over and over again the Lord reminded me about the three Hebrew boys who no matter what there hope was in God no matter if God saved them or not they would be faithful to God and Him alone no matter the cost!

Three years ago my husband, the love of my life, was diagnosed with a terminal illness and told he had 6 months to live. As I was struggling to come to terms with this news, he found this song and told me to listen to it.. It brought me so much comfort. Our 6 months actually ended up being 2 years, but of course it would never have been enough. Thankfully, despite being lost without him this song helped me to place my faith in God. I truly believed that God would heal him, but now I realize God DID heal him and took away all his pain, just not the way I was hoping. I have to trust in his greater plan. Thank you so much for this song it has helped me to heal through the painful journey of deep loss.

Four years ago today my husband died after a battle with ALS/MND. Right at the start of his diagnosis we heard God speak to us through this passage from the Bible. We were worship leaders and made our decision that come what may, He was worthy to receive our full hearts. We knew He could change the situation in a heartbeat, but that whether He did or He didn't we would worship Him with everything we had. Right up until his voice box went days before he died, even through slurring speech, I have a video of Mark talking about true worship, in Spirit and in truth. This song is like our testimony. Thank you for putting our hearts into song.
Olivia Militello Hi Olivia. I'm so sorry to hear of your struggle. ALS is such an awful disease and causes so much distress both to the person suffering and those caring for them. I am sure that you will find the strength along with your family to care for your aunt in the best possible way. I certainly don't have all the answers. This week my heart is breaking for a friend who has just lost her husband to a brain tumour less than a week after his diagnosis, leaving behind his two young children, much like when my hubby died. The world is full of so many people hurting about things outside of their control and it seems cruel. I guess I just came to the understanding that this world is broken and that in its brokenness, things don't happen the way they should. The only sure thing I had to hold onto was that God is faithful and that He doesn't change just because life gets hard. And even better that because of his love He is preparing a place for us where there is no more pain, no more crying, no more hunger and thirst. In Matt Redman's song Endless Hallelujah it says "forgotten is the minor key" ALS is a minor key but waiting for us is the promise that it will be forgotten and all restored. I hope you can come to a place of peace in your situation xx

I wish I could tell you how hugely important this song has been to me. Both my parents died and my husband left me all in a time period of 6 months. I was battling crippling anxiety and fighting it and fighting God. Finally, I just told him, Lord if you want me to have anxiety, I'll have it. Just don't leave me. I felt his peace, and my life began to turn around.

I’m sorry to hear the heavy burden that life thrust on you all at once, but your Heavenly Father knew what you’d have to endure long before it happened. When you decided to come to Him and basically said Daddy not my will but your will be done in my life…That’s what He was waiting on, for you to surrender ALL to Him. He says be anxious for nothing, and also, cast your cares on Him because He cares for you.
This where I am right now. Lost mom and dad. My brother betrayed the rest of us during this time and I was bullied at work for 5 yrs and now I have to go back to the same work and have no one on my side to walk with me. I just have the Lord to trust.

Hi Joe I understand what you're going through, I had 9 chemos and surgery, for stage 4 ovarian cancer and thought I had it whipped. But now after loosing my husband in March, God said okay you're time is done down here. I am on hospice, I am at peace, I don't have to beg Him anymore for healing, or wonder am I going to live or die, I am in His hands and like the song, he's been faithful all my life, and He will take my hand and lead me home. There is no fear, I don't like leaving your loved ones but His ways are higher then mine. He knows best and I trust in that. God Bless you on your journey.

Try "The Truth about Cancer" on youtube or their website as it's a wealth of research and knowledge from hundreds of scientists, doctors, and practitioners. When the temptation comes give it to the Lord and make the choice to listen worship and read his word instead. You do have a choice no matter what that deceptive voice whispers to you. I too struggled for a long time with a certain sin as well, but once I kept giving it to Him and actively chose to press into him when I was tempted the temptation itself became less and less. I still struggle in my head but the Lord is faithful

Man, I used to not be able to resist urges of a specific sin I was indulging in. I realized why I was indulging in this sin: I was bored. So, I began serving more often and praying for myself and others to keep me busy. It worked. Like the Word says, do not get drunk, but be filled with the Holy Spirit. Conquer evil with good. But of course, u gotta be willing to surrender to the Spirit and take the way out. I struggled with getting myself to be willing to be patient in temptation, and so I failed a lot of times, which led me to a season where I cried every night for freedom from sin and I was always ashamed which led me to become bitter, anxious and I doubted my salvation and identity in Christ. And I couldn't even enjoy my graduation cuz of this. But one night at an event for the youth, I went to the altar to bring Him this sin and bowed down, and I began praying, and a leader came and asked me what I needed prayer for and I told him I wanted freedom and he told me you already are free and that it is written in Romans 6. Pfft but even after I kept sinning for awhile until God's discipline humbled me and I began praying to replace this sinful habit. And I started praying more often cuz I realized something very important: sin is not freedom even as good as it feels, but Christ alone is. The sorrow and shame I felt in that season I was in will someday be wut I feel for an eternity if I dont stop. Yes, God will never leave me but sinning is leaving Him. I am not afraid of sin because of punishment from God, but because sin is naturally the absence of God. I don't ever wanna feel that. I wanna feel God and I will by remaining in His love by obeying His commandments. So I ask others what they want me to pray for them weekly that I may have a long list of prayers to keep me busy. And so I pray with God over these people. I humble myself and tell Him I cant pray alone cuz I get distracted and I need Him. And u know praying alone aint fun but with God, it's great. I pray you are freed from this sin. That every lie would be revealed in Jesus' name. You are free, and when you begin believing is when you are free. Believe to receive. U believe by living like u are free. When I began serving and praying more and doing things that honor God more, things of Spirit rather than flesh more, I was living like I am free, and I feel free now. Don't live like u are a prisoner, cuz ur not. After Jesus healed the unfortunate, He told them to stop sinning or something worse might happen because He wants them to live free. Dont chain yourself with lies. Trade ur lies with truth. Remember, as Revelations says: we defeat the enemy by the blood of Christ and our testimony, our faith. God bless u brother. Don't be afraid, just believe.

My son Christopher and only child is in Heaven with Abba God and our Lord Jesus. I used to be all about the sex, drugs, and rock n roll. It led me to unemployment, homelessness, and on the edge of suicide. God saved me! Introduced me to the woman who became my wife and gave me children. She gave me the choice. Partying all the time, or her. I've been close to 25 years clean, and now I seek only to glorify Him through my music! He's given me the gift of music, He's given me this testimony, He's given me life where there should be a grave! Thank You, Jesus!

God where do I begin...August 3 2016 was the day I gave my heart and soul to God or you could say he stole my heart and soul. I had always believed in God but did I ever follow him, ever talk to him, ever thank him for blessing me? No, No I didnt and up to that point the past 3 years of my life to me was great but the best part about it was I got married to my soul mate and best friend, and God had blessed us with a beautiful little boy. But up until last year my life had changed I lost my job, my marriage felt like it was crumbling beneath me and after those things and more stuff I never tried to talk to god, I never asked for his help. Me not having a job never scared me I have a mother and father who would help me with anything as long as they had it they would help me and my family. The one thing I was so terrified and scared of the most was watching my marriage fail, losing my wife and son. I would have done anything to keep my family together, I have always loved my wife and been so madly in love with her but I became selfish with myself with my wants and needs and not being there for her like I should have been and working in my anger like I should have. I had tried and tried to fix things on my own and it just seemed like things wasn't working no matter what I was doing. So one night laying in bed beside her I rented the movie Fireproof while she slept beside me, I had heard great things about the movie but I was like "this movie is probably just about God and not fixing a broken marriage". But I gave it a chance and as I started watching the movie I had notice the main character Caleb was just like me with my anger, myself, my marriage, and with God. From the start of that movie it grabbed me and it started pulling on me I felt so much hurt, so much pain, so broken, and so lost. At the end of that movie I was crying out to God to please help me, to please save my marriage lord, and to please make me the man that you want me to be lord, I held my wife has she slept holding her tight, kissing her head while my tears just rolled down my face and just saying to her as she slept that "I will never give up on you, I will always fight for our marriage, and I will always love you unconditionally". While I'm crying out to God to help me I felt something enter my heart, something touch my soul and at that moment I knew it was God and all I could feel coming from him was just love, forgiveness, joy, and a new life and he let me know that I was saved by grace. I had never felt so much love and it's that unconditional love that we all want to know that no matter what God will always love us. I waited the next day to to tell my wife after we took our boy out for ice cream and to my mother's house I first told her about the movie, I talked about it a little and it wasn't until we was on our way to my mom's that I had told her about God saving me last night and that how awful of a husband I had been to her for not being there for her when she needed me and that I as long as I live she will never be alone again, that she is will always be loved unconditionally and that God had given me a love that I had never had before. Ever since I have given my life to god he has worked for me in so many ways that I couldn't have done it without him.
That's a very great testimony. Sometimes in life God puts us in situation we're we have to really thirst and hunger for Him because if we don't feel like we need Him we will never know what great power He has, like for example when you said that kissing your job was not a big idea but God opened your spiritual eyes and showed you in a way what if you lose your marriage then after that you turned to Him coz there was no one else who could help you. But I thank God that all is well

If we could talk. But it seems like that time is passed now. I keep crying out to God to change me, make Me right. Asking what I could do. What I am comming to understand is that my husband is done. The signs of an affair are very strong. All God does is reasure me that he knows my pain and frustration. My husband may have well hardened his heart for what ever his reasons are... I prolly won't ever know. But they are his reasons. My story isn't yours obviously. But I pray all the time our marriage, we, still mattered enough for my husband to surrender to God and be couragous as you were to ask God and Trust God for the answers. To humble ourselves before a Mighty God that we can be reconciled in Truth. May you and your wife spend the rest of your lives together with all Joy and Love.

Just heard it today and also I am one of those crying over and over everytime I listen to it.
He probably is (or was, by the time a song is written and published it takes time) going through a difficult time. Many of his songs are personal. But as he said in the song - he knows who to trust. The only One who can comfort and bring him out of this bad situation.
Jesus never said that we would be without problems. But He did say that He would be with us always. And that, if you ask me, is the point of this song. Amen!

This song hits so hard for me. I was paralyzed from the neck down when I was 18. Against all odds God healed me. Even when every doctor told my parents I would never walk again.... He healed me.
I have chronic pain now, most days are not bad but there are days I can barely stand it. My husband and I have been praying for healing from my pain but we know that it can and has been used to bring glory to God. I have cared for people who had my disorder and with chronic pain as a nurse. But times I wish that i did not have this struggle. This song helps so much.

@TrickShot_KateBishop thank you for your prayers. The concert was amazing and I was able to stand for most of it without pain! Since then I have had very little pain. I have been able to sleep through the night without waking from pain. These last 2 weeks have been the best I've had in a long time. My husband and I continue to praise God for his healing because we know that it has to be Him. I'm taking one day at a time and even if I have the pain tomorrow I will be greatful for the time that I have had without it. Thank you for your prayers as well, and God bless you!
I also deal w/Chronic Pain from my neck to my toes. I must be doing something wrong bcuz I pray so hard but I’m just getting worse. I’ve spent the last few years in bed, asI can’t even walk thru a grocery store w/out being in agony. Genetic early onset Degenerative Disc Disease & severe Osteoarthritis, along w/a Panic
/Anxiety Disorder. 2 failed spine surgeries that left me w/nerve damage that causes severe RLS-type pain in my legs, along w/low back & knee pain. Then I suffered a fall in late November of 2022. Now my C6-C7 discs are indenting my spinal cord, my T7-T9 are herniated & bulging towards my spinal cord, my L4 is badly eroded & super compressed, along w/being riddled w/arthritis (my L5/S1 are already fused). My spine is crooked bcuz my right leg is almost an inch longer than the left. When I fell, I landed hard on my already bad knees, especially the left, & saw an Orthopedic surgeon last Wednesday. Said I’m too weak for a knee replacement bcuz of my spine issues, that they have to be addressed first. All his poking & prodding left my knee in even more pain, & I woke up on Saturday unable to put any weight on it. It feels like a socket wrench ratcheting when I try to sit or get up. My whole life has been nothing but mental & physical pain as my father was a raging alcoholic & abusive in every way. When my parents finally divorced when I was 16, I went wild w/my new-found freedom, but bcuz I had ZERO social skills, I let myself be used & abused up until my mid-20’s, & made some horrible mistakes. Thought my life was finally on track when I had my son & got married at age 27, but my husband was an alcoholic. Thankfully not a mean drink, but it was VERY hard for years. Then, miraculously he just quit drinking 3 years ago! Our marriage (now 29 years) was finally good! But then the hammer dropped. He was diagnosed w/stage 3 colon cancer in 7/2022. He’s been taking care of me, & I need to be able to take care of him now, but I can’t most days. His treatment is going well, praise Jesus, but mine is at a dead end. I have been thru years of PT, countless steroid epidural injections, 3 major surgeries within 13 months (had a 3.5 centimeter kidney stone shaped like a deer antler cut out of me in between my 2 spine surgeries. 🤦🏼♀️), & I have to go thru more PT to hold off at least 3 more spine surgeries & a knee surgery that I’ll have to go thru in the next year or 2. I feel like I’m being punished for my awful past, but I know that our Lord & Savior is not that way, but the shame & guilt is soul-crushing…& this pain is all-consuming. I can only count on 1 hand the times in my life that I felt truly happy, & those moments are fleeting. But my biggest fear of all is ending up in hell. I’ve been reading the Bible again, & watching the Victory Channel, or my tv is on the Contemporary Christian channel, that’s how I found this song. It’s become my anthem. I don’t know what God’s purpose is for me, but I pray every day for Him to tell me everything is going to be ok, whether I’m physically healed or not. I don’t feel the Holy Spirit, & that scares me. I don’t want to be left behind! 😭😭😭

I was sent this song after I lost my son to suicide. I was so broken and hurt I was mad at God. I didn’t understand how this song pertained to me. NOW I do, and I find comfort when listening to it. It would have been easy to give up on God but I know God didn’t take my son. Depression & anxiety took my son, God welcomed him Home!

As i sit here, a humbled sinner, a 8yr Vet of the USMC, broken, beaten down destroyed until one evening i was brought to tears listening to Gods message, i prayed, i cried hard, and even died that night...but then just as quickly the holy spirit filled me and took away my pains and worries. As difficult as it is to get past the amazing arrangement and beautiful blend of instruments playing, once you truly connect with the lyric and message of this song it hits you in the perfect way to rejuvenate your faith in Jesus. It's been 7 years that I lost my dad. This song right here kept me focused on how big and mighty my God is. Although He got me ready when He took my dad. I love this song because it's real. Like the psalmist, there is no pretending that things are okay. Instead, there is a pouring out of the anguish and questions that are never answered. Instead of pretending that everything will be all right, that somehow we'll elevate above our problems, there is an intentional declaration that God is who He says He is and that this fact is good enough even if nothing changes. Mature Christianity is not confidence in personal perfection. It's honesty in brokenness and recognition that the One we serve is the hero of the story and that His grace is sufficient.

I really needed to see this today. Yesterday our dog died and I feel so broken and it hurts, my family is hurt and broken as well. But I know where my true help comes from. I'm not going to pretend I'm alright but I know GOD hears our brokenness and hurt. It's alright to not be alright. I see how it pushes me into the arms of CHRIST.
I suffer from chronic pain and it has been its worst here lately. I have suffered for over a decade and this song means so much to me. Even if you don't, my hope is you alone.
Be strong and courageous. Chronic pain is one of the worst. Sometimes takes your joy and happiness and leaves you feeling angry and hopeless. I live with my husband who has also suffered from chronic pain. At times it's been horrific. I trust God is able when he is ready.
