      @@marcus_motors_ All done. Clip ofcourse came off (I caught it)..and was slightly bent on one of its mounting prongs..I found if I removed the top rubber cap on the light housing I could actually see through to where it fits in place and the whole clip action made more sense in my head. I re bent the clip to its original position and managed to blindly get it back in position with my now mutilated forearm. All working, just in time for inspection tomorrow. Thanks again mate. If you do get all the servo etc. errors by disconnecting the battery, you can usually reset it by:
    1: Turn on car.
    2: Turn steering wheel all the way right and hold for a few seconds.
    3: Then turn steering wheel all the way left and hold for a few seconds.
    4: Then turn steering wheel to middle position.
    5: Wait a few seconds and turn of the car.
    6: Then wait a few seconds and turn the car back on again.
    Errors should be gone now :)

    Thankyou so much. Your video is the best i have seen on youtube. It gave me motivation to do it myself and I was able to do it!! The passenger side one was tricky to get the housing clip off but perseverance paid off!! One tip for rookies like me, dont pull the bulb out with connector cable as in my case the housing clip also came out completely on the driver side (luckily it was the driver side which has more access) I was able to stick the housing clip back after couple tries... Overall simple process but tricky access on passenger side. Thank you again.

Glad you got it sorted, but yeah, the bulb doesn't fit through the clip so you have to disconnect it before taking it out or it will end up like you said, pulling the clip off the housing. Very useful video which helped me upgrade the bulbs. Unfortunately, I had trouble with the passenger side - there isn't much room. Removing the washer bottle filler tube, as suggested in another video, gives a little extra room. I also tried moving the battery, which caused lots of warning lights when I eventually finished.
    The biggest problem was the clip holding the bulb in place came off in my hand when I was putting in the new bulb. Refitting is a nightmare, and it fell away and disappeared, eventually, I found it in the headlight itself (phew) and managed to get it in place and finished the job.
    It probably took 10 minutes for the driver side but with the clip dropping of the passenger side took well over 90 minutes, mostly hunting for the clip and refitting it, but still better than taking the bumper of

    Nice one. Was having trouble figuring out how to budge that clip holding the bulb in place. You just solved that problem. Didn't realise I had to push it out and then (the important part) move the clip anti clockwise a little bit. Hey presto! Easy as you like.
    Thanks a million

    • @marcus_motors_
      @marcus_motors_  Před 2 lety

      The clip is the only difficult part imo. Plug just pulls off and the bulb basically falls out. But the clip has to be pushed like you say and can fall into the engine bay if you're not careful haha
      But as soon as you do it that first time, no going back to taking off the bumper haha

    • @anythingpeteives
      @anythingpeteives Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately the first time was just a test to see if I could do it. Finally got the replacement bulb. Luckily I bought 2 because second time was a nightmare. It took me an hour and a half.
      To begin with that same clip that I could release and put back in place the first time I tried, just wouldn't budge. 15 minutes of struggling and having to stop because the pain in my finger or thumb was getting too much and then finally it released.
      But that wasn't the end of it. Of course it wouldn't clip back in place and with all the effort and attempts both the bulb and the clip ended up falling into the light cluster.
      The bulb is still in there. I can just about see it but just can't reach it. As for the clip. After 2 or 3 attempts of hooking it back in place only to have it come unclipped again, I eventually was able to hook it in place and clip it firmly over my 2nd purchased bulb.
      I have no idea why it was so difficult this second time and as for the bulb that's still in there. I'm too stressed to try and retrieve it for now.

    • @marcus_motors_
      @marcus_motors_  Před 2 lety

      Well thaty might be a headlight unit out job! That's isn't too bad, just peel back the arch liner after taking the bottom 3 screws screws out if I remember correctly, just enough to get your forearm in. Then undo the bolt on the bottom from the inside, bolt from on top, the big screws along the top of the bumper and just pull and gently work the headlight unit out.
      Shouldn't really have to push hard with the clip or anything, usually once it's in the correct spot, round the hooked part, thus just sit easy. If I was close enough mate I'd offer you a hand, but it can become a pain when you're struggling for a while, especially in this heat!

I was away to start pulling the bumper but stuck at the phillips screws for the arch liner - they were well stuck so I thought ok let me see if I can't find the bulb and wriggle the clip back in place. @@marcus_motors_ I know there is one video where someone dismantles the headlight, I know this video. Where are the contacts, do I need to take the headlight out for that? I know the thread from the link but I dont get smart from it xD.
      Congratulations to your 3 month old man!

    Hello, my right blinker, running daylights and parking lights warning is on. My right blinker blinks fast and does not come on at all. Headlight on right side at the top is out. Which bulb will need to be replaced and do you have part# and were to order it from? 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia

      Hi Kelly, I'm not familiar with the giulias at all. Could be worth replacing your right blinker and the other bulb you said is out first, then see what happens. I assume you're not in UK as you called it a blinker? If so, I wouldn't know where to recommend you buy one from. I imagine any automotive store.
      Sorry I couldn't be more help

    You're a bit too late for me with this vid 😁 I did mine 4 months ago.
    That was a bloody (literally!) worst 2 hours of my car work, and it was only passenger one. I hope driver's side bulb never dies...
    Though it is a bit different in petrol Giulietta, there's no fuel filter, but the cooling part is just a tad more closer to the space where your arm should be while changing bulb. Anyway, great vid, it would be very helpful if your bulb died before mine did haha

      Well now you've got to keep your G just long enough until it goes now haha

      Unhook it like anticlockwise once you've pushed it down. Feels like it is hinged on the other end mate

      Good man! So much easier once you've done it once so you can get a proper feel for the little hooks, then the movement makes sense

      Retrofitted led headlight aren't legal in the UK. But not being able to see the bulb with type of lense, you'd probably be safe to change them
