@suchomimus9921 If you compare the trees, bushes, road, electricity poles and the vehicle from 4:02 and the next two clips is the same but attacked from different directions. Also the first telegraph pole looks the same as the last jammer clip, so maybe the jammer made it veer into the pole.

In the extra footage we see a couple of those drones look like they're extremely heavy judging by how slow they're going and how unmanoeuvrable they are. This makes me think that they maybe have 'special' payloads. Particularly the one that gets caught on the cage, it looks like it's struggling to fly so perhaps it's packing something that's beefy enough to damage the vehicle despite the cage, it would be interesting to know

It sort of depends on the warhead on how well the cage works as a standoff armour. If its frag then it'll probably be slightly better than riding on top of a BMP but some of the charges they're using in that variety can be quite dangerous to anyone not behind actual armour. High explosive is going to get it holed pretty well but not exactly a guarantee that it'll be all good under the hood especially if its a tandem warhead with two charges. What it doesn't so is stop explosively formed penetrators like you see in some drones and top attack anti-tank missiles. They are sailing through the stand off, the armour, anyone inside and right out the other side.
    So how useful?
Depends exactly what is getting sent their way and the mild steel on the 'Garden Shed' tanks isn't really an armour as such compared to the RHA of fighting vehicles which is a much harder, robust alloy. Even a heavy MG like a 50cal will go right through half an inch of mild steel and pop anyone behind it like a dropped melon

You can tell Putin is the mastermind that decided a fresh Kharkiv offensive would be a great idea. Because he won't let go of such a destructive (to Muscovite forces and interests) idea. And keeps doubling down. I wonder if this is one reason he dumped Shoygu, inept and corrupt as he was? Wouldn't agree to absurd self destructive plans? Nah, probably not.
Reminds me of the German leader in WW II, who decided he was a military genius. Odd how Putin's actions and words are starting to map to Adolph's. Except for the massive corruption part, that's a special Muscovite feature, since what's the point of powerr without it making you rich?

I think those drone videos at the end are attacking the same vehicle in the same location. There are several spotting features that match up. I think the first clip (where the drone runs into a utility pole) is one vehicle, then the next three are all attacking the a different vehicle, but the same vehicle in all three clips. They're hitting it from different angles, but the road, utility poles, and terrain are the same in all three clips. Then the last clip is the same vehicle as the first clip - it may be the reason the drone in the first clip veered to the side was the jammer mentioned in the last video.

That last drone, the battery was exhausted as you can see it was at 3.25 volts, and as soon asit hits 3.2volts, the battery charge protection circuit,, built into most 18650 batteries would have shut down the power- causing the drone to literally drop out of the sky.. Ukraine should really remove this circuit as these are a one way trip vehicle, and the circuit is no longer needed- however it does tell the operator how much flying time they have left by the voltage reading.

One cheap method suggested was to home on magnetic or IF signals, as opposed to using the more complicated visual recognition software. That might explain why drones veered into the power pole and landed atop the cope cages. If there was a transformer on the pole it might be a stronger signal for this sort of guidance.

Rewatch your video Suchomimus, the last clip shows a drone attacking the same BMP from the earlier clip where there were fires on the ground in front of it... I estimate that this drone caused the fire seen in the previous video...

The last few clips all seem to be from the same stretch of road. Especially the clip with the drone getting caught atop the cope cage and the clip after that one seem to show the same target vehicle

Imagine volunteering in this conflict asuming you are either dying as a hero of the motherland like your grandfather or continue living as a legend but then you’re not even reaching the frontlines before getting blown into pieces and dying as a nobody in a foreign land with your relatives never seeing you again.

Thanks for showing both wins and failures. Pilots naturally want to show effective footage of their drones, but this can cause people to misinterpret the effectiveness of novel tactics for the war as a whole. Would welcome the same openness about other systems

They all looked to be happening in the same place. And they all look to be low value targets.
So, maybe they the AFU drone corp was just using it as an opportunity to train their newbies.

You should read up on radio frequencies and Line-of-sight propagation. Most of these cut in videos feeds and lost of control are due to Lost Line of sight from the receiver and transmitters used in the equipment. It is true that radio waves can go though walls and trees but with more stuff in the LOS it will start blocking the singles. As the drones get farther away from the operator and lower to the ground it is harder to keep the TX and RX connected.

The clips in the end seams to be 2 different vehicles. The first where the drone drift to the side is 1. The rest is a other one. But the last one is also from the first clip. Maybe there was some jamming stuff on that truck?

Bicycles very effective for resupply in Vietnam in jungle. Less expensive than a helicopter, used very effectively but under cover and darkness and need ca lot of commited supply troops to wheel the bikes!

  • @nickholden3976
    @nickholden3976 Před měsícem

Not sure it's jamming at the end, more likely loss of signal due to the trees and low level flight - and the drones are set to continue their flight if they lose controller signal - so straight into the ground.

Looks like the first fpv going in the wires and last going in the ground were on the same vehicle.
Also between these two attacks were some muktipke attacks on a single vehicle.
I was thinking that experienced drone operators may have stopped those vehicles and "students" got the task to finish them off to optain operational experience. 🤔

I wonder if these Brucey Bonus videos are showing drone operator training. All the vehicles are already abandoned. They look like they’ve been hit a few times. The flying is a bit leisurely and tentative. New drone pilots have to train somewhere; why not out in the field against real enemy vehicles?
