Liberia: President questions gov’t bank balance record of Weah administration

  • President Joseph Boakai who was sworn in on January 22nd said on Monday (Jan. 29) that the balance recorded was US$20.5 million, not US$40 million, as former President George Weah had claimed. Liberian media reported Wednesday that the Senate ordered the Central Bank to clarify the contradictions.

    And it was clarified by the Central bank governor that President Weah did leave a little more than the 40 million he reported. Joe Boakai was mislead and must mustard the courage to come back to the Liberian people and apologize for misleading information. The Librarian people deserve better.
