I got a PowerPint a couple days ago, and I love it!!! I'm not an electrician or construction worker, so I don't need a multitool with every tool known to man. I just need something to grip with, open bottles and cans, and turn screws. It's about the same size as a 3-layer swiss army knife, so it is totally fine in the front pocket of shorts or pants. I'm glad to see it will hold up to prolonged use. 👍
I carry a full size multi tool the Leatherman rebar. And I carry the SOG PowerPoint for pocket carry for the smaller jobs.
I found some tiny magnets on Amazon and glued them to the insides of the handles to keep them closed small enough that they do not affect the grip you’ll have on bits you place into the top
same solution, tiny magnet on the other side👌
good tip, otherwise I would get a little belt sheath for it.
Do you mind sharing what kind of magnet did you put in? 5x2? Or thicker
Do you have a links to the magnets 🧲
Great video. Thanks.
awesome review, I also like to use Altoids tins for driver bit, screws, bolts, nuts or any number of small things.
Good! Very Good!
Great video, buddy. I hope you have an awesome weekend!
You too David!
Thanks Johnny, I was looking for a decent pocket knife with pliers and scissor that is small enough to use as EDC. Looks like this is going to be perfect fit. Ordered my one. Thanks a million for great review
My most used MT.
Any thoughts on it?
Good informative video bro. I love my powerpint after about 18 minths, its good as new and fun as you described, does the trick on the go.
I also have a beautiful Surge, which is the biggest baddest MT basically. I love them both equally, both serve me well small or medium task but i can never decide which guy to be, the smart fast effiecient one, or the big beast. Hahaha.
Women often tell me they want the beast
It's hard to adjust the tightness of the opening, using two T-8s or whatever they are, such that you get a nice stiffness to prevent accidental opening YET you still have easy flip open action (or I think you called it "fidget factor"). Maybe you'll have better luck than me. Thanks for uploading.
Oh, also, one guy placed a thin button shaped neodymium magnet down by the lanyard end to keep the handles together (also handy for bit driving action so you can let go and rotate your hand) and reported good closure, but I haven't tried that myself because I avoid strong magnets on my pocket use tools because they can zap magnetic strips on nearby credit cards.
So nice to hear from you. I will look into the magnet mod for sure. Thanks!
@@JohnnyJukeHey, did you maybe mod it with magnet? I have Daicamping DL30 the clone of surge and I think I got sick for multitools and I am already thinking about getting something smaller that I can keep on my pocket or jacket and was thinking about getting this SOG PowerPoint did you maybe tried also other SOG from those mini tools and could say which one you think is the most universal? I will be ordering from AliExpress. Thank you love the channel you got new subscriber 😅
I have the SOG Flash MT and althugh i'm perpetually biased to Victorinox, i like what SOG offers. PowerPint is probably next. Glad to know that the screws are T8.
A few thoughts/questions:
1) Has anyone used the protractor on the pliers? How practical and accurate is it?
2) In my humble opinion "first impression" videos are little more than ad hoc commercials. Reviews after the tool has been used for a while like this one have so much more credibility.
3) I don't own any SOG products, and based on what I've heard the PowerPint, while not perfect, is the shining exception to its bigger brothers. Why? Where's the disconnect?
No.3 is what Im seeing too in reviews. Waiting for any reply
Because the leverage gear system works well on a small tool, but on a full size the handles spread out alot.
Does anybody here know where I can get replacement torx screws from? I got no reply from sog
How where to obtain the "mod" flat head?
just got mine and love it but it's really tough I can't swing open does it loosen over time? I used my friends and it was like butter one handed swing opens
Loosens up
Ok i know I'm sixteen but i had to laugh when you said nut driver
Hello,i have a question if you can respond..can i attach a 1/4 driver to a sog powerpint?
Yes
Where did you get that beautiful satin blade Recon 1? who has them and how do I contact them? Been wishing for a non DLC Recon for a long time.
These were exclusives from a few years ago. Unlikely you will find new ones, but anything is possible.
Great video but I don't see the amazon link, did I miss something?
Sorry, but The Amazon thing is done.
link not working
Sorry about the silly question
It's about that problem you said you have that it opens easily in your front pocket
Have you tried using a micro magnet?
Maybe that helps?
I tightened the pivot screws and all is well.
@@JohnnyJukeafter tightening it are you still able to open the tool 1h or now need to use 2hands?
Where did you get the fuller sized flathead?
Made it
AT last everyone else is coming round!
I can’t make my mind up between the black one or the silver one any suggestions?
You won't be disappointed with either one.
@@JohnnyJuke does the black one look like crap after if it starts having the black coating come off is what I meant to ask?
Get both is usually the correct answer.
Did you have to break it in to open it like that mine is super tight
The bolts loosened. I have since tightened them.
cool!
What is the model of that buck knife?
Buck 112 Pro Elite
I have a leatherman wave plus and I’m not using it for tough jobs and I’m also not a heavy user of it. Is it better to have a sog powerpint instead? Or should I keep both of them?😂
I carry a Wave plus daily. Having said that, the PP lives on my work bench. The PP gets the most use. I own both because I have a collection, but if I could only have one (between these two) it would be the Wave.
@@JohnnyJuke thank you for the fast response and I’ll just keep both of them 😆
By the way, have you experienced any rust problems in your sog?
None
@@JohnnyJuke Thank you for replying! Mine is having rust spots way to often, perhaps I got unlucky.
“..why the lock is so crappy and the company won’t reply to your emails” (stares at camera out of view {while holding a benchmade, no their service is perfect. If you send a knife that scrapes the handle closing they send it back the same for sentimental reasons}) 🤨
What’s that small silver knive on your table? Is it a buck?
Maximilian😅
Buck 112
where is you influencer page
Deleted it.
Buck :/ I've been having some real shit luck with that company in the past years....... 🙄. Used em my whole life then, I bought the new premium moose skinner blade snapped because you could clearly see it was bad heat treat... Sent it in they said srry can't replace it, that was almost a year ago and they still haven't shipped my crap back 😡. Their grinds are really off in the past cpl of years... Kinda sucks imo
I really was disappointed with the 112/110 Sport. First Bucks I ever sent back.
@@JohnnyJuke damn eh :/ they completely stopped shipping their folders to Canada to wich blows.. I picked uo the sprint ops buck of the month, that wasn't bad I like it aside from when you flio it and close it it litteraly sounds like everything is loose on it but it's tight lmao 🤦🤷 I did wanna check out the 110 auto and the newer ones but we'll see I guess lol
I have known some women who need to be cleaned, maintained, and lubed.
lol!
Is this made in China?
Just came from their site. Couldn't find where they are made.
@@JohnnyJuke from China, saw this info fr Amazon!
The pliers break and they don't have replacement
benchmade sucks! still love my 940 #sad
So sad, but true. I had to upgrade my 940 with aftermarket. Love it now
I have carved far worse animals tbh
How did you modify your bottle opener to a flat head
Belt sander 😀
