Statistical Methods for Health Equity: Dr Divya Shanmugam (MIT)

The Statistical Methods for Health Equity Series is a monthly online series co-hosted by the Data Science for Health Equity community, the Alan Turing Institute Health Equity Interest Group, and the Department of Statistical Science at University College London.
For this talk, we were delighted to welcome Dr Divya Shanmugam, who recently completed her PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working with Prof. John Guttag on best practices for developing and deploying machine learning models in the presence of unreliable data. Divya shared her fantastic work on how to characterize and mitigate the impact of imperfect data on machine learning models deployed in healthcare.
