I am a Bengali girl ...and Durga Puja is our bengalees big festival . Actually Durga puja is celebrated for 5 days{6(shosthi),7(saptami),8(Astami,9(Nabami,10(dashami)} ..we bring the idol in the pandal on the 6th day and 10 th day we sink the idol in the river or lake Maa durga is like our daughter and she visit every year in our house with her sons Ganesh and Karthik and daughters Laxmi and saraswati.so that's why the 10 th day at the bisorjon time some of the elders cry ..bcoz according to them they parting with their daughter for one year for more information just google about it

She is not only a goddess, For Bengali Hindu's She is a daughter who has returned her father's home after a year later, with her all family (with 4 children), except her husband( Lord Shiva). We worship goddess Durga as a Mother, as a daughter & as a power ( Who created the world with lord Bramha, Runs the world with lord Vishnu and at the end she will destroy everything with lord Shiva). We wait a year for her. Our whole family gets together during this festival.

Basically there's two types of Durga Puja Celebration and Idols-
One is Traditional and another is Modern and Theme based. The artistic and aesthetic visuals are from the theme based Durga Puja where modern touches are given in respect to a specific theme which varies every year. On the other hand, the traditional, also known as "Sabeki" idol and Puja, maintain the traditional idol and Puja environment with absolutely no theme implemented and maintains the old legacy. Thanks and Regards! 😊️🙏🇮🇳

3:20 All Bengalis are sad, some teary eyed when we immerse the goddess into the Ganges and let her go home to her husband. Bengalis think of Durga as the daughter of our household that has been married off to Shiva and comes to visit once a year.
As for me, I'm sad even during the festivities because I know that it will end soon. Same as our earthly existence.. 😅

As a bengali, this video gave me such a great sense of pride. Durga puja is the best festival in this entire world and it's not just a religious festival. This festival meshes culture, religion, art, food, the feeling of home and togetherness, all together. The fact that this year might lead us to celebrate Durga puja in the confines of our homes is absolutely terrifying and nightmarish. We bengali literally go through an entire year of work to enjoy those few days to the fullest. This video literally made me cry tears of nostalgia.

This festival is an emotion for all bengalis (a religion of India) we all wait for this festival every moment every day every month every year with great enthusiasts 🥺
We cry when this festival ends 😭
During durga puja each colony and streets of west bengal are lighted up very brightly and stages are made by different groups of people.
Every stage has it's own theme for eg awareness about plastic bags
    Awareness about saving water
    Awareness about child marriage
Awareness about women empowerment etc. The best theme got prizes and trophy for depicting unique ideas perfectly ❤🙏

The 10 Days, day and night are dedicated to our Goddess and Women Empowerment. We laugh and cry. It’s something that connects our heart to heart. So it’s so good to see Durga Pujo being appreciated! You should definitely come to experience it after this pandemic gets over! Thanks for reacting to it!

Because every pandal has it's own theme which depicts and portraits several political, environmental issues, responsibility , daily life issues and struggles of people. Durga puja, it's an Art. Pure Art.
Here in Kolkata, every pandal is an art gallery 😂. Then think how many art galleries we have in the time of Durga puja...more than thousands.

Everybody is talking about how they see the goddess or how Hinduism is but, the main reason of why this is unique from other religious festivals in India is the shear amount of artistic thoughts that go into each of these pujas, it will not be an exaggeration if I dare to say that this festival is also the biggest artist's festival in India. There are lots of free thinking that goes into each of these themes which conveys deeper meaning and/or a message and not just be presented as aesthetically beautiful. In those four day of the festival, Bengal especially Kolkata becomes an art gallery that never sleeps!

2:29 we worship girls (during those 9days) representing goddess Durga.
It's the festival celebrated all over India, each and every state celebrate it in their own manner but the celebration in Bengal is really grand😁.
Simple meaning is woman is powerful, graceful, Merciful and protector as well. She is the source of power. It's called NAVRATRI festival (or Durga Pooja).
Durga is name of goddess and Pooja means prayer. While NAVRATRI is Sanskrit word NAV means 9 and RATRI means night. NAVRATRI POOJA MEANS 9NIGHTS WORSHIP. it's also celebrated in Nepal Bangladesh Thailand and I guess Indonesia as well.
And we do like music of all world but 3:47 the music with creates bond b/w the superior and us I guess no one can replace no matter how much morden we become 😁

  • @priyasmitaray
    @priyasmitaray Před 4 lety +5

You know what's even more surprising? That we make these pieces of art only for 10 days. The beauty of these pandals is in their transience.
The idols are then submerged in the Ganga and the artisans start preparing for the next round of celebrations for the next year with newer and more creative themes than before.
"Ashche bochor aabar hobe" is a popular phrase in Bengali meaning "Next year, again" :)
It's exactly like when the season of your favourite fruit goes away and you become sad all of a sudden but then you console yourself by saying "okay it's not that bad, I enjoyed this year's fruits. Next year, I can have it again" :D
So now you can use this Bengali phrase. It's trendy and it's catchy ;D

Durga Puja actually starts from the 6th day of "Navaratri" which is known as "SHOSHTHI" , 7th day as "SHAPTAMI", 8th day as "ASHTAMI", 9th day as "NABOMI" AND and 10th day or the last day as "DASHAMI".
Durga Puja is the main festival of Bengali people. Bengali community people mainly celebrate Durga Puja. An interesting fact is that bengali people treat Maa Durga as their own daughter and as u can see the happiness on their faces it's because a beautiful story and it says that maa Durga comes to her parents' house from her in-laws' house with her children and stay there for three days. And this every Bengali welcome maa Durga as daughter and her children as grandchildren. And Maa Durga is also known as "UMAA" the daughter of every Bengali family.

I am from East India and Durga puja is mainly celebrated in my city Kolkata if you want to know about it here is a brief description . It is like worship of women power. Before the first day people visit to holy river the ganges and pray for their ancestors it is also like calling the Godess. This idol 10 hands is a kind of symbol it means women are strong enough to do more than one task at once like looking after family and working outside, being kind but stand against the wrong all these. It is actualy celebrated for 4 days but yes according to the hindu calender the date begins like that from the 1st to 10th day but celebration and prayer is done from 6th day.
There are no rules people of every religeon participate in this festival. Its like a vacation for few days. People enjoy mostly by visiting different places with different idols. In the city more than 100 idols are made it's like for every street for every apartment there is an idol. And people even goes out of station, some likes visiting restaurant, night clubs, or watch movies on theatre. There will be a lot of food stalls, various events, concerte, sale in mall, pubs etc. Even there are competitions like who created the best idol , who created the biggest, who has the best theme and for all these they get awards that particular area becomes popular. And about the video there was a child it is a ritual the girl child is worshiped they believe she is blessed by the god . But yeah being a hindu girl i can say it's fine of you dont pray god for one day also a lot of hindu doesn't there are no rules. But i love Durga puja it is not just a religeous festival for us it is very exciting every where something is going on almost the whole city is decorated with lights there are music on loud speaker in every place, people of every age hangout whole night and that is more than half of the city but yes even i love visiting different places and viewing different idols of Godess Durga. It is very creative and artistic really. They even make Jurassic parks, once Harry Porter's Hogwarts was also created, not just that Eiffel tower and a lot more themes were made. It is an emotion for us.
