When I started to listen to this song I was beginning the worst, and today I'm listening to it and ending the cycle. It's not about yesterday, not about tomorrow, it's NOW ! I like how Kendrick addresses alcoholism and peer pressure on this song , he is not only a great musician but also a role model to look up to.
I first saw this video in 2012 (BET, 106 & Park) and loved it immediately: I'm now 7 months sober (I became an alcoholic years after this song came out) and more captivated by the song than ever. It's an amazing song in every way, including the one you mentioned.
Except that people don't give a fuck and listen to this while getting wasted as fuck (like me).
Missing alcohol right now. The song's grown much more meaningful to be over time.
