T Mac was my favorite player back in the day. Such a unique talent.
I love his poise during the interview.. to think he was only 17/18 at the time
You did it Tmac you made the decision to jump in the NBA draft and got drafted. Started off rocky but become a super star and a hall of Famer in just a few years congratulations Tmac
Penny Hardaway is his fav - then years later he ends up at Orlando wearing #1...nice
T-Mac was so damn good in his prime. During that mini-era that lacked superstars, after Jordan's reign with the Bulls ended and before LeBron started his reign, T-Mac was another superstar that the NBA desperately needed. You had Kobe with the Lakers, Iverson the Sixers, Kidd with the Nets, and then there was T-Mac with the Magic (note: I'm probably missing some stars).
Good point. A few others are vince carter, kg, duncan, steve Francis etc.
@Mike Coxlong B Roy didnt come around until 2006 he's talking 1999-2002 era
You are missing heaps. There was plenty of stars. Duncan, Shaq, Webber, Garnett, Marbury and more.
he was so smart so young, someone must have been in his ear.
LeBron PG
Kobe SG
Dwight Howard C
T-Mac SF
Garnett PF
This “High School To Pro” Squad in their primes could feasibly beat any combination of players in the history of the NBA.
In a video game, yes. In real life, no. The perimeter players all need the ball in their hands all the time to be successful, so there would be little to no chemistry.
@@darkskinglory899 A whole bunch of centers could take Dwight,
MJ could take Kobe,
KD, Bird or Dr. J could take T-Mac offensively and Pippen could contain him defensively. Kawhi would be a tough match up for him on both ends.
Tim Duncan or Karl Malone could take KG
Magic may not be able to guard LeBron 1 on 1, but he would be a better floor general for his team.
The guys he listed would have no chemistry together because LeBron, T-mac and Kobe cannot play off ball. Kobe would likely assert himself as the alpha because he is (was) the most strong-willed of the three, but the team would not be successful against a more carefully built team. Magic, MJ and Pippen would better because Magic would be the playmaker, MJ the scorer and Pippen the lock down defender who does not need the ball in his hands much. There has to be hierarchy for a team to be successful; players need to know and accept their roles.
The feedback he received from GMs is why he made the right decision because he got the right information. That’s not the case for everyone . T-Mac was a beast in his prime. Arguably the best pure scorer ever. Always loved watching him and VC
So many people just assume a college is a guarantee to a good job. I can attest to it not being so with my seemingly worthless computer science degree.
I just want shake his Coach's hands. That brother had more foresight for Tracy than most of those people that were trying to steer him to college.
.........id say that decision turned out well for him
i wish the injuries never happend!
Yeah but players are thinking, "If I stay in college, that's 2 or 3 years of NBA salary that I'm sacrificing." Most don't have the luxury of staying in school and affording a quality campus life, and many times their family at home are struggling.
For the record Garnett found out AFTER he decided to go pro, that he had in fact qualified
Now I see why he had back problems. Look at those "crunches" at 1:26 LOL
@@SFO14 Just admit that you know nothing about working out, and that you were wrong.
@@SFO14 It’s weird that a simple crunch confused you. Strain on his neck and no strain on his back caused you to connect that exercise to his back with no proof. Then tried to argue it. You know what, you might just simply be slow, not weird and egotistical.😳
@@SFO14 hey doc can I get something for my back? I strained my neck! Look on doctor’s face😳
T-Mac Overall Was 99 In Nba 2k3 I Used To Always Put Him On A Team With AI In 24/7 mode
@@nygiantsfan84 he prolly was a 99 after his 2002-2003 where he averaged 32ppg. It makes sense💯
2k ratings in the early 2000’s was something else 😂 Shaq was a 100 in 2k2 😂
Educational and informative! Thanks Tracy. Lopez, Webber- Michigan Fab 5.....
Wow... great upload, dude! Cheers!
charles barkey was 6-4 6-5 and put up 20 points and 20 boards, hes defs on of the greatest
lets be honest now, everyone was playing NBA live at the time, u mean nba live 2001
ppl switched over to 2k later in 2000s
Anyone besides me noticed. How Penny and T Mac were the same player, With the same number and both careers end the same #Scary "Penny Hardaway is my favorite player.."
Well penny was his favorite player cause he lived in central Florida grew up rooting for the magic
Hate to tell you but learn something called Gematria its all scripted every single sports game u watch college and pro every single on is scripted n most world events are scripted its wild
Yeh, it's crazy how T-Mac came up in the image of Penny and his game was penny(+athleticism) and his career followed the same trajectory and from escalation to decline as Penny's and the function of Kobe's career who was made in the image of MJ, paralleled MJ's career. That's sum real incredible matrix, parallel quantum reality, I don't know what to call it it's crazy how that ok played out though.
@@voojoo8539 penny was more touted right out the gate though being what a 3rd pick also penny was nasty right out the gate tmac n kob took couple yrs
@@slickrick2685 yeh, I was talking about skill set at coming in and going out of there peak. To my knowledge there has never been two sets of more similar players in any sport.
incredible upload sir....dame t-mac was a little grimlin looking scary face kid lol
Gotta check out his interview with the Knuckle Heads 💯💯
Basketball was HUUUUGGGE in the late 90s. Right after the Jordan era, EVERYBODY was hooping. That was a long time ago. It's crazy how time just FLEW by.
yeah man, look at his face when he dunks on that guy and gets back on defense. cutthroat mentality, nothing soft about him. he got into a fight with a lot of people in the nba as well...without hesitation. t-mac is the shit
shoutout Durham, NC
Gotta love that confidence
confidence from day one!
Legend
Damn I was laughing HARD at this.
i remember my friends would sit around and argue about whether it was lakers or kings as the best team in the games back then. lol i remember the kings had a rating of 98 or higher i think lol
He was very thoughtful and aware of his situation. Mcgrady is an intelligent guy.
How u guys find this footage
They need to bring back the highschool to NBA draft
Scholastic sports I remember this show showed I remember this episode and theu showed kobe the yr before I caught both of these on off days from school
Who knew T Mac straight out of high-school..... Father Blessed you Bro, keep Shining. Your light is Bright 🌞.........
I liked TMac's game. How about a story on Lloyd "World B. Free?" Or even perhaps Nate Archibald.
Heavy
If tmac went to college for 2 yrs he would’ve came in leading the league in scoring
What did he do to his hair?
Great player-
FLA LEGEND!!! 💪💪
That worked out well
Man tmac was a killer i miss the good days lol
I still pick T-Mac and VC on my created Raptors team on 2K13
96 Overal each ;)
Man that same Knee that went out on him then came back for round 2.
Tmc is the most versatile player behind kobe
im here from CCC420.
Knuckles Heads made me realize he definitely got his teeth done.
I love America God bless America
el mejor un groso
lol, great point.. rings come with TEAM success. Doesn't make a player better than another.
Maturing at a college campus=weed, sex, alcohol, class.
Malone has two MVPs, Barkley has one...
Even if he did fizzle out these last few years. Financially, He made a smart choice lol 2nd favorite player after Michael Jordan. 2. Tracy McGrady. 3. Reggie Miller
Did kg play with magic and jordan??
I predict he will be a Hall of famer!
Me too..
First Time I seen LeBron I thought he'd be mentioned in the Goat debate.
I also called Brady's 7 or 8 rings back when he was playing for Michigan
I said don't draft Oden over K.D
I knew Hillary would lose, and soon as I heard the Joke I yelled for Chris Rock to duck.
But What I Remember most was Telling Malcolm Butler to Jump the route its a pass play.
You was playing 2K back when Live was hot?
How is he NOT an NBA Top 75?
....six years later, he was leading the league in scoring
Great move wished he got a ring other than that a nba all time great
well looking back..maybe, but Kobe, Lebron, KG didnt go to college either..What separates them from Tmac?...the simple variable of injury.
perfectly said
hope he gets to play
Dang, that was real...
Dick Vitale sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger LOL.
When asked Kobe Bryant said Tracy Mcgrady was the hardest player for him to defend offensively and defensively! That’s enough said
T Mac had one of the better, more effective all around games.
"I Love Rodman" aweee letdown
Tmac is on san antonio!
legit question, but i think if you've seen as many Jazz games as I have you'd see that Malone was freakishly skilled for a 6'9" PF.
I mean its not like Pippin gave Jordan more skill than Jordan already had, he made Jordan better by taking the load off. something i expect to see in LA this year
imagine TM @ Kentucky
charles played mostly SF and he was only 6'4
Tmac was a very laid back player. Idk about soft. Just looking at the way he plays he had a "cutthroat mentality". He could score however he wanted, whenever he wanted. I guess with the injuries and no other good players to help him he didnt get to reach his full potential...
Facts bra he was laid back off the court he was your friend on the court he would kill you. And he would dunk on shot blockers by the way remember the game in Chicago when he dunk on him a told him to block this .
Of course they want these young black men going to their universities !! They generate millions of dollars for that school !
Well kids need to be financial stable so that’s why many left early and they were too talented some guys are an exception education and getting a job after is a good alternative plan but doesn’t always work. It’s not just a degree but you need experience and skills. It’s better for guys to play professionally and wait a year
Duncan,Malone,Barkley
you forgot the white mamba..Brian Scalabrine
kevin was in playing nintendo Lool
where is Felipe Lopez now ?
It was Kobe Vs TMac who was better? Shoes and Everything
Recently seeing a pic of McGrady depressed sitting the bench in a pro Chinese league makes me wonder what his lasting legacy should be: remarkable scorer?, wasted talent? questionable work-ethic? Natural born talent wise-- top 5 ever. Period.
Top 5 ever lol u smokin rocks bro Kevin Durant is way better n hes not even top 5
@@slickrick2685 9 years ago bruh? I dont even remember writing that lol, relax
Didnt see this was so old lol even 9ulyrs ago u was on rocks lol doesnt matter all sports are scripted learn GEMATRIA n theres magnets in basketballs
he has every right to be
HALL OF FAMER
how many rings and mvps do Malone and Barkley have??
To me I still think he is G.O.A.T with VC and AI just without rings thats all. But they would be in lower end of the list if they were after MJ, Kobe, Magic and etc. Thats just me thats all.
Most of the NBA players that came out of high school are having long careers anyway
We leave full-time education at 16 in UK,well 15 for me as my birthday's August and in summer holidays. Then it's off to the building sites to earn money for the likes of me. We don't have this 'college' experience like US does.It could be why in 76 years of the nba there's been only SEVEN brits make it.
speech from frank pentangeli
not bad hes tmac now
did he wear bracers???
Made the right decision. Injuries took him out early.
he was all bout money no more passion
I'm a huge Cs fan but all those players are better
Old ass computer!
t-mac was 19
frank pentangelli
These younger kids don't know how dangerous this man was on those old 2K games. From like 2K2 to like 2K9 he was a bucket, a walking 40. He was fast as hell, he could dribble, he could shoot from wherever and he could dunk on everybody. He was like a created player.
And nba live from 02-10 he was definitely a easy 40
he still good on 2k
2k2 he was a cheat code
@@emersontorress1342 I mean they basically brought back old T-Mac from those games but yeah point still stands lol
2006 nba live I used to always use the rockets
