DashyXD&Dad, for you and all those in your audience that may not know, this performance took place on September 25, 2021, and was the first performance during the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". Diana's cover of the Elvis Presley classic Can't Help Falling In Love, demonstrates Diana Ankudinova has developed into a true contralto voice type. For those that don't know female voice types, a contralto is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto voice type is very, very rare. During the beginning of this first performance you can hear Diana’s low contralto sound, and a common question is asked about Diana's vocal range because the vocal range is one of the primary defining factors used in determining a female singer's voice type. In 2017, at 13, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. Diana has said she is not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and this lack kept her out of the more prestigious music academies. Diana, along with her vocal teacher decided to work extensively on developing her higher vocal range. In September 2021, during this performance, at age 18, (now 19), her vocal range was again measured and the work she and her voice teacher put in is paying off. Her range was again measured during this performance and her functional range now goes from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5, giving Diana almost a 3-octave range. But, it's not simply how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower range. It's in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, and in her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance. Diana's ability to create and use this resonance further defines Diana as a "dramatic contralto" and a dramatic contralto is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto and is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. The question most people have is, how does Diana do it? How is it possible for such a young female singer to achieve such a low, rich, deep, and profound sound? Without the ability to actually scope her vocal tract while she is producing those low notes to see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness is simply attributing Diana's ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning she was just born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than most female singers. Her larynx also appears to be larger and her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than other female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity. When combined, this unique vocal anatomy gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce these low, deep, rich, and full sounds, but without actually scoping Diana's vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure. To really appreciate the vocal progression of Diana's contralto sound, listen to "Rechenka", a Russian folk song she sings in her native Russian for a vocal competition for disadvantaged teens called "You Are Super!" during their 2018 Season when Diana was 14 years old. You can hear the beginning of Diana's deep and rich lower range and a mature sound for her age. Next, listen to her cover of Chris Izaak's, "Wicked Game" the following year in 2019 when she was 15 years old during the 2019 Season of "You Are Super!". Diana Ankudinova a year later is just about at a true contralto vocal range but not quite there yet. Diana Ankudinova won both the 2018 and 2019 seasons of You Are Super. Diana also has mastered a singing technique known as polyphonic singing which is extraordinary for someone so young. A singer that has mastered polyphonic singing can create one, and sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice singing. It is this polyphonic ability that some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of artificial electronic voice manipulation or is using some kind of pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing in the background off stage, or Diana is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. No artificial manipulation of Diana's voice is happening at all, and no one else is singing off stage, nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. The other voices and music you are hearing are all vocal backing tracks used to fill in and round out the performance along with the musical score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing Can't Help Falling In Love. Female singers usually don't reach their full vocal maturity until somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age while some do reach it sooner, and others, later. Diana Ankudinova's vocals have already developed well ahead of schedule in reaching vocal maturity, and some vocal professionals believe she has already reached her vocal maturity, but the jury is still out. Diana Ankudinova during this competition was the first to perform with her cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love" during the "TheShowMaskGoOn!" competition. During Diana's performance, the judge on the top row, the first to stand up is the Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan. He was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this competition. Yusif Eyvazov is married to the world-famous Russian soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana's performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of her competitors is Julia Parshuta who is a well-known contemporary Russian singer and is the blond woman standing in the center row dressed in red. She looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head, and looks totally bewildered and in total disbelief. Julia Parshuta, in addition to the other judges now know, at some point, she and the other contestants will have to compete against Diana Ankudinova, who everyone now recognizes as a generational talent. Finally, Diana won this competition.

The only thing I'd add is that ANYBODY listening to Diana for the first time and being impressed needs to look into the past and her tragic early childhood of abuse, neglect and abandonment, on the street with a broken collarbone at age 2/3 and unable to verbally communicate. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far Eastern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion.

I don’t think anyone here has actually given you her backstory, so here you go: Diana’s biological mother had several pregnancies, of which Diana was the only one who survived. From the moment she was born, that woman hated her. Abused her, tried to drown her, and it reached the point where she abandoned 3-year-old Diana at a bus stop to die in the middle of Russian winter with a broken collarbone. Fortunately the universe had bigger plans for her. She was found and it was agreed that she should not be placed with her biological relatives, so off to the orphanage she went. One of the women who worked there developed a special connection with the girl and ultimately adopted her. Diana has had a loving family ever since. But around age 5, she was still having trouble speaking and was traumatized from her experiences. She was enrolled into singing lessons to help her, where it was discovered that she had perfect pitch and a great ear for music. The rest, as they say, is history Also, i forgot to give some suggestions for more stuff from her. Here are three reasons why Diana doesn't sound human. First, she is a dramatic contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. DashyXD&Dad, for you and all those in your audience that may not know, this performance took place on September 25, 2021, and was the first performance during the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". Diana's cover of the Elvis Presley classic Can't Help Falling In Love, demonstrates Diana Ankudinova has developed into a true contralto voice type. For those that don't know female voice types, a contralto is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto voice type is very, very rare.
During the beginning of this first performance you can hear Diana’s low contralto sound, and a common question is asked about Diana's vocal range because the vocal range is one of the primary defining factors used in determining a female singer's voice type. In 2017, at 13, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. Diana has said she is not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and this lack kept her out of the more prestigious music academies. Diana, along with her vocal teacher decided to work extensively on developing her higher vocal range.
In September 2021, during this performance, at age 18, (now 19), her vocal range was again measured and the work she and her voice teacher put in is paying off. Her range was again measured during this performance and her functional range now goes from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5, giving Diana almost a 3-octave range. But, it's not simply how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower range. It's in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, and in her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance. Diana's ability to create and use this resonance further defines Diana as a "dramatic contralto" and a dramatic contralto is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto and is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types.
The question most people have is, how does Diana do it? How is it possible for such a young female singer to achieve such a low, rich, deep, and profound sound? Without the ability to actually scope her vocal tract while she is producing those low notes to see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness is simply attributing Diana's ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning she was just born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than most female singers. Her larynx also appears to be larger and her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than other female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity. When combined, this unique vocal anatomy gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce these low, deep, rich, and full sounds, but without actually scoping Diana's vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure.
To really appreciate the vocal progression of Diana's contralto sound, listen to "Rechenka", a Russian folk song she sings in her native Russian for a vocal competition for disadvantaged teens called "You Are Super!" during their 2018 Season when Diana was 14 years old. You can hear the beginning of Diana's deep and rich lower range and a mature sound for her age. Next, listen to her cover of Chris Izaak's, "Wicked Game" the following year in 2019 when she was 15 years old during the 2019 Season of "You Are Super!". Diana Ankudinova a year later is just about at a true contralto vocal range but not quite there yet. Diana Ankudinova won both the 2018 and 2019 seasons of You Are Super.
Diana also has mastered a singing technique known as polyphonic singing which is extraordinary for someone so young. A singer that has mastered polyphonic singing can create one, and sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice singing.
It is this polyphonic ability that some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of artificial electronic voice manipulation or is using some kind of pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing in the background off stage, or Diana is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. No artificial manipulation of Diana's voice is happening at all, and no one else is singing off stage, nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. The other voices and music you are hearing are all vocal backing tracks used to fill in and round out the performance along with the musical score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing Can't Help Falling In Love.
Female singers usually don't reach their full vocal maturity until somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age while some do reach it sooner, and others, later. Diana Ankudinova's vocals have already developed well ahead of schedule in reaching vocal maturity, and some vocal professionals believe she has already reached her vocal maturity, but the jury is still out. Diana Ankudinova during this competition was the first to perform with her cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love" during the "TheShowMaskGoOn!" competition. During Diana's performance, the judge on the top row, the first to stand up is the Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan. He was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this competition. Yusif Eyvazov is married to the world-famous Russian soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana's performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of her competitors is Julia Parshuta who is a well-known contemporary Russian singer and is the blond woman standing in the center row dressed in red. She looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head, and looks totally bewildered and in total disbelief. Julia Parshuta, in addition to the other judges now know, at some point, she and the other contestants will have to compete against Diana Ankudinova, who everyone now recognizes as a generational talent. Finally, Diana won this competition.

The only thing I'd add is that ANYBODY listening to Diana for the first time and being impressed needs to look into the past and her tragic early childhood of abuse, neglect and abandonment, on the street with a broken collarbone at age 2/3 and unable to verbally communicate. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far Eastern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. Diana was abused and eventually abandoned by her birth parents. She was found with a broken collarbone and various speech deficits that were likely a result of the abuse. She was placed in an orphanage. One of the staff, at the urging of her own daughter, adopted her.
As part of Diana’s recovery, her therapists suggested singing lessons. Her teachers quickly discovered that she had an extraordinary voice, and she began singing in shows and children’s festivals at every opportunity. Her big coming out took place when she was 14, and performed on Ты супер (“You’re Super”), a Russian show similar to The Voice, but restricted to orphans and children with disabilities. She won the show that year, and then again the following year when they held a series just for previous winners. Those performances have been viewed tens of millions of times, for good reason: She has a powerful, haunting voice, and her stage presence is riveting. When performing, she appears completely fearless.
Great singers usually reach maturity in their late 30’s, so she is just at the beginning. If she is allowed to nurture her gift, I see no limit to her potential.
She is often compared with Dimash Kudaibergen, the reigning king of Olympian vocals, but I see two important differences. The first is technical: Diana’s voice has overtones that make her sound as though she is harmonizing with herself. It is something that can be taught, but she came by it naturally. Second, and more important, is that as great as Dimash is, watching him feels a bit like watching the world’s best stunt-man do amazing tricks. With Diana, there are no tricks-she just reaches into you and takes your soul.
There are three kinds of covers: 1) the artist tries to sound like the original; 2) the artist stays faithful to the original but tries to make it their own; 3) the artist takes the original idea and does something completely new with it. Diana never does the first two.

Diana, also called goosebumps queen, sang the cover of the cover of the song by Elvis Presley in the first episode of the competition 'Шоумаскгоон' (ShowMaskGoOn). This was Diana's first adult competition in November 2021. She was the youngest competitor (aged 18) and wowed contestants and spectators with her first song.
Rules: 9 winners of the previous shows 'The Mask', 'Superstar' and 'You are Super' took part in this new format and had to sing in 9 categories: folk hit, song at the end of the 20th century, Soviet song, pop hit, song your choice, new music, song from cartoon or film, rock hit, Grammy
The man who jumps up is the world famous opera singer Yusif Eyvazov. He is also the husband of the world famous opera singer Anna Netrebko. He is the guest of honor and awards 9 points. Each episode has a new guest of honor.
The competitors have to assess each other and have praised Diana to the skies. They said of their performance: 'Diana has no competition on the show - she amazes with her talent - it's impossible to tear yourself away from her - you want to listen endlessly, they're in tears and they're even afraid to blink' .
8 participants (Diana cannot score herself) gave Diana the highest score (9). She won the first episode... and later won the contest.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion.

I don’t think anyone here has actually given you her backstory, so here you go: Diana’s biological mother had several pregnancies, of which Diana was the only one who survived. From the moment she was born, that woman hated her. Abused her, tried to drown her, and it reached the point where she abandoned 3-year-old Diana at a bus stop to die in the middle of Russian winter with a broken collarbone. Fortunately the universe had bigger plans for her. She was found and it was agreed that she should not be placed with her biological relatives, so off to the orphanage she went. One of the women who worked there developed a special connection with the girl and ultimately adopted her. Diana has had a loving family ever since. But around age 5, she was still having trouble speaking and was traumatized from her experiences. She was enrolled into singing lessons to help her, where it was discovered that she had perfect pitch and a great ear for music. The rest, as they say, is history
Also, i forgot to give some suggestions for more stuff from her. In no particular order:
- Derniere Danse (French) - there are several versions of this song but i personally suggest the one from 2020 on her official channel, when she was 17. She also sang it for the contest “You are super!” at 14 years old
- Wicked Game (English) - check out this cover that she sang for the same contest at 15. You can hear a strong presence of her many voices
- Personal Jesus (English) - the last song she sang for the same contest as “Can’t Help Falling in Love” (ShowMaskGoOn). She was 18, the youngest participant in this contest, which she ultimately won. If you ask me, this song is a great way to go out with a bang
