I found out i had cancer Sept. 25 2009. So this song was abundantly playing on the radio and it brought about so many emotions and thoughts. It certainly hit home when i went into remission. Till this day I cry and thank God above for keeping me here ALIVE AND WELL. Its been 10 years. I will be forever grateful for this song. It got me through some tough days and reminds me to be humble. Thanks Kenny and Dave - beautiful work.

Yesterday I got good news that I don't have Leuikemia and I'm alive TODAY and WELL compared to most I'm a hiccup from homelessness but If I keep this positive attitude and realize each day is a GIFT and pray for the WILLINGNESS too not use anything mind or mood altering substances to not feel then I stand a good chance at another day.

It was just 2months ago when I had rope around my neck &just wanted it ALL to end. I met Andrew from Colorado who gave me food when I was hungry and now he has turned me on to this song, yes I have found more than this song to keep me wanting to live, but today I am really alive. This an awesome song to remind me I'm worth the air I breath and ''there is more to come''. God bless people like Andrew who because of his random act of kindness, saved a hopeless homeless individual who had given up!

Maybe look at the positive people and the positive talents that you were given and the material possessions that you own are kinda a bonus. If you have found love, then you're definitely not dead. I recently had open heart surgery. Triple bypass and a valve repair. Listened to this song many times while in the hospital. Tomorrow is 16 weeks after surgery and I am doing great. This song was an encouragement.

Talk about a song that puts things in perspective. The first time I heard it I was pretty down on myself, then I thought about my two sons and my girlfriend, a woman that has without made a tremendous impact in my life. They truly brought out the meaning of this song. I hope others hear this song and realize that there is always something good in your life. You just have to look up long enough and you'll see it

A year ago today I had a rope around my neck with the intention to end my life, yet here I am alive and well. A few months ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancer, yet we’re both still alive and relatively well at the moment.
Life is precious, even if it doesn’t always seem like it is. Life is short, even if it doesn’t always seem like it. Mine or someone else’s life could end at any moment, so we have to cherish what we do have.
Kenny always has hit songs, Dave Mathews doesn't hurt it at all...

@lcroz72 I agree!! In March of 2009 I was in the hospital for 2 months with a double staff infection in my heart, a piece of my heart valve also broke off and went into my lungs causing pnuemonia. I was in ICU for the first month with the a machine breathing for me as well as dialysis! I had to learn to walk, eat, and even BREATHE on my own again......breathing in and out's a blessing can't you see........It is!! More than most of you will ever know!! This song is amazing.
This is my dad's song because in Sept. he had emergency surgery, then things went worse, and had another on November 20th, then things got even worse. He had his recent surgery Jan. 12th, and we did't expect him to survive because it was an extremely risky surgery. But he survived, and he has been in the hospital since his surgery. I miss you daddy, and I love you =D
