- While traveling abord private rail car Lambert's Point on Amtrak's Southwest Chief, I catch an incredibly lucky shot of a BNSF Freight train as we pass through Cameron, Illinois.
At Cameron, Amtrak's Southwest Chief leaves the old route of the Santa Fe, and joins the former Chicago Burlington and Quincy for the remainder of the journey into Chicago Illinois. Today, both main lines are owned and operated by The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF).
