    Dude- that was a cool explanation! I’m new to tea, especially green tea. Looking forward to actually purchasing some equipment. Been a coffee freak for years, but thought I’d change it up a bit. Thanks!

    how do you clean the teapot with a circular filter?
    i want to clean the filter of my teapot
    please respond thank you!

    • @Nioteas
      @Nioteas  Před 11 měsíci +2

      you can descale it with some baking soda but other than that you dont want to "clean" it so much that it impacts the flavor. You can also use a waterpik to clean it out if you have one

      @@Nioteas thank you answering omg is it okay if i ask a follow up question?
      are there some teapots that has a removable circular filter ? coz the teapot i bought was just a hand me down and i think it was stored for too long.
      there were this weird black particles whenever i tried to blush the filter and it never seems to end.

      yes there are but I would recommend the ones with a built in filter. The detachable filter is basically like brewing with a strainer. I recommend this one: nioteas.com/products/red-fukamushi-kyusu

    Cool. I'm looking for Kyusu teapot now. But how do you clean it properly? Do i use dishwashing soap and sponge or do I just soak it with water and soap?

      @dylanbyrne4048 Před rokem

      Don't use any chemicals like dish soap. I just use hot water and I use some salt. I'm no expert but I believe if you wash the leaves out when you are finished brewing it always stays clean and sometimes just fill it with boiling water let it sit for a few minutes and pour it out.

    I Have a Japanese black clay kyusu, but I'm not sure if it's unglazed? It feels like there is a little bit of clay coming off the inside when I rub with my fingers, although there is not any visible clay rubbing off. I want to buy a kyusu with more of a solid material if you know what I mean, so it doesn't feel like there is clay rubbing off from the inside?

    • @Nioteas
      @Nioteas  Před rokem +1

      you can tell by how shiny and or rough the teapot is. The black Kyusu we offer on our website is semi glazed so it has the best of both worlds

      @@Nioteas Okay Thanks. 👍No way, that Black teapot is exactly the same as mine, it has the sho sticker on the lid and an engraved tree on the underneath. I am noticing with mine that there is sometimes little bits of the clay I can see on the inside and when I rub with my fingers it feels like there may be little bits of clay rubbing off🤔 is this normal and is the clay itself harmful if it's leaching into the tea? 🍵👹

      @@Nioteas Your Japanese tea looks very fresh and true quality I will definitely order from your website sometime. I have a local Japanese tea master who sells high quality teas fresh from Japan also, but I would love to try your tea sometime. I have been drinking sencha for a while and I never realised that the Gyokuro was higher caffeine which I love the caffeine.🍵👹👍

    When i clean mine i just rinse it out with hot water and dry it

    • @Nioteas
      @Nioteas  Před 11 měsíci

      yes this is probably the best so you don't impact the natural flavors of the pot

    Tea bags are a non starter for me. I use two Kyusus exclusively for Japanese green teas (depending), one Yixing for black oolong, and one Gaiwan for green oolong. Those are my three basic food groups 😂😂😂. Never shall they meet.

    • @Nioteas
      @Nioteas  Před rokem

      yes this is the way to go! I am trying to get people to switch from teabags to loose leaf but it is an uphill battle
