    How do you match the solar panel output to the (presumably) 110V pump? On top of the solar controler does it need an inverter and buffer battery?

    What is the general rule for the spacing of diffusers .
    For example 70 ×40 meter dam, average depth 2 meters

    • @aquaticcontrol
      @aquaticcontrol  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you for the question! Diffuser placement is generally based on the overall size and depth of the water body to be aerated and its shape. Once overall size/depth/shape is determined the diffusers are placed evenly throughout the water body while attempting to keep them in the deeper areas of the lake. Generally, (but not always) diffusers end up being 100’-200’ apart with pond depth being the main factor. With 6.5’ or so of average depth (like you have) we would recommend diffusers be placed closer together than if the average water depth was 15’ as an example. Diffuser placement is not easily defined and is typically designed on a per pond basis. Also, we typically don’t recommend diffused aeration for ponds with a depth of 8’ or less. We would recommend surface aerators. If you would like, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-753-5253 and we would be happy to discuss this with you in greater detail.

    What size is this 1/4 hp taking care of. Is it figured by area or column feet of water?

    • @aquaticcontrol
      @aquaticcontrol  Před 2 lety

      Thank you for watching Steve. The size of the unit was recommended by the manufacturer based on the surface area & depth of the waterbody. If you have a question about your pond and what size diffuser you may need, call us at 1-800-753-LAKE. W would be more than happy to get you a custom recommendation.

    How did you decide number of solar panels and capacity of the motor???.

    • @aquaticcontrol
      @aquaticcontrol  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you for watching! The manufacturer recommended the sizing on the compressor motor and system, based on the surface area and depth of the waterbody. The solar panel array size is determined by the manufacturer as well and is based on the size of the compressor in the system. This particular solar panel array is the optimum size to operate the size compressor in this system. If you need any more help with design assistance, please feel free to contact us!

      Thank you for reaching out Jim. Solar-powered aerators with battery back-up are designed to operate 20 hours a day. Solar-powered aerators without battery back-up will only operate during daylight conditions. The unit you see in this video does not have a battery backup.

      These types of systems start out around $4,000 (including delivery and installation) and go up from there depending on the exact requirements for the pond that they are being installed in.
