- These Italian Short Ribs will absolutely melt in your mouth! Brooklyn Brothers show you how to cook short ribs. Very easy to prepare short rib ragu recipe is made with short ribs that are slow cooked and coated in a mouth-watering Pomodoro (Tomato) sauce. This hearty dish is delicious and makes great leftovers, and it freezes well, too.
Short rib ragu is a delicious Italian delight served over pasta, preferably Pappardelle. It is often prepared with braised short ribs that are cooked down in a tomato sauce and then served over Pappardelle.
Our rendition of short rib ragu is made with seared short ribs that are slow cooked in a Dutch oven with other fresh ingredients to create a rich and delicious tomato sauce. It’s definitely the best!

Very delicious recipe for short beef ribs. I cooked in March with white rice instead of pasta, and my family was fascinated . Today, I will make it for the 2nd time with pasta aside. Thank you so much for sharing it 😊
Wonderful! Thanks for letting us know!
Grew up in NYC. As a kid in the 70's my grandma would make this (Calabrese). Also Braciole.
I make this at least once a month. (My family version anyway). Thanks for this!
That’s great! Appreciate you sharing your story!
Good Job Boys!

@@BrooklynBrothersCooking You too !
My mouth is literally watering😂
Love it, absolutely delicious. Sometimes, I shred the meat off the bone and put it in the sauce. That's a real Sunday family sauce!
Sounds great!
Yum
I like that you add bay leaves to your sauce. I also add bay leaves to my marinara because it is hard for me to get Basil most of the time.
Bay leaves are great with red sauces with beef.
Had to have a great deep flavor! Love working with short ribs, maybe today's Sunday supper!

Hi guys , have you ever used the Small baby back ribs in your Dutch oven short rib pasta sauce ? . I know a Italian lady she uses the really small baby back ribs in her rib sauce . So do you cook your sauce first then add to the ribs ? . Before putting in the oven ? . It all looks so yummy 😋 . My Italian god mother would be proud ! . Lucy Vella is her name . She lives in Elizebeth New Jersey . Ty guys , Sharon 👍👌😋😊🙋🏻♀️
Thanks Sharon! The pork ribs are a great idea! We will definitely have to do that. Have a great evening!

Hello Brooklyn Lovers! So HOT!!!
Hi how are you
@@dominicksimonetti6726 Quite well thank G_d!
No celery to complete the holy trinity of sofrito? I like the idea of cutting back on short ribs and adding baby backs ( suggested by another reader) or maybe just pork neck bones to flavor sauce and gnaw on. Love your site. I am a transported Italian from the Bronx who stayed in Omaha after attending medical school in the Bronx. Like Henry Hill I found it tough to find grocery stores and butchers so I could make my Mom and Dad’s recipes when I first came out here forty years ago.
Whoops, I attended medical school in Omaha.
