Hi Phil, Sorry, I have a terrible habit of mumbling.... usually at the important bits...
      Feather Emprioum, in the US.
      Cheers for watching.

How do you construct your leader Carl for single dry on small stillwaters please?

      Hi Trevor!
I use fluorocarbon on almost all occasions.
      3ft of 9.5lb, 2ft of 7.5lb, 2ft of 6lb, 3ft of 4.75lb.
This allows me to fish dries down to size 16, and sometimes an 18 if they aren't too picky.
If I have to fish 18 and 20s when they are "fussy" I will fish
      3ft of 7.5lb, 2ft of 6lb, 2ft of 4.75lb, 3ft of 3.5lb
All knots for construction are blood knots. and i will use a Davy Knot for the tiny flies.
I always use a 5wt rod on my dries.
Hope this helps, this is just my way of doing it and isn't the way you must do it.
      All the best,
      Carl

      No worries, Trevor.

@@CarlNixonFlyFishingFlyTying I've been using a tapered leader with a tippet of flourocarbon, I find if I don't grease up most of the leader it starts to sink and when I go to recast the fly travels down before it comes out and ends up waterlogged.

You may find, and I'm assuming here, your butt section of the tapered leader is quite thick? Maybe 0.53 or 0.45?
This will be sinking quite quickly?
9.5lb Riverge is 0.21mm, this allows me some extra "leave time" before the fly start to sink. But is still stiff enough to help energy transfer and fly turnover.
I use Hunts Mud on the last two sections of flouro only. I don't address anything else.
