Джин был очень классный рокнролльщик! Заводной - и работал с полной отдачей, как все настоящие звёзды.

Unflinchingly tells the other side of rock and roll music business. Vincent, once great seminal rocker, shown a dozen years down the line, an overweight and chain-smoking 34 year old, rehearsing a mediocre band, playing his first hit song for a number of television programs with hired in dancers and business people roaming around, waiting in cheap hotel rooms, and completely knackered barely able to finish a full set of music in a small venue at the end. He would die a few years later of a heart attack, having worked his tail off touring for 16 years under harsh conditions. This is the reality of the working class musician once commercially relevant now on the skids. Excellent graphic observational cinema.

En effet il est mort d'un ulcère stomacale ! Il était génial ! Magnifique, un timbre de voix incomparable ! Pas de condescendance, il a eu la vie qu'il a eu.... Respect Mister Gene Vincent ! I love you 💞❤️

In his younger days Russell Crowe could have played Gene in a bio pic.

I'm wondering if anybody has the exact date this was first broadcast? Chances are it was around the time I was born. If it was the same day, now that would be freakish lol. The BBC Genome site only lists a 1993 repeat, as far as I can find...

@@thevhsabyss thank you again, yes! :) In addition I found, regarding this broadcast of BBC 2's Late Night Line Up "...celebrates its 2,000th edition tonight, 6 May 1970 with something different..." Although it doesn't say what the show is about, I have also seen online that it was indeed shown for the 2,000th edition. Which I think is nice to know.
