I can't live without this chick playing that box-thing in her trio.
The cigar box and kerosene can guitars are without a doubt highlights of her shows. Says a lot, considering all other aspects of said performances are a million miles from b.s.
The opening number peeled paint off my wall. I have never heard a cigar box guitar sound that raw and loud and good! Her voice is as good as her guitar playing. What a combo.....this girl has it going on. Original tunes and putting her own spin on the blues. Keep up the good work and God bless Samantha and band! Thanks for posting this!
I know I just left a comment that said if you handed that thing to Steve vai or Eric Clapton and said follow her they wouldn't be able to unless they. Spent a week with it she's crazy incredible her tone is most perfect tone ever
recently saw an interview with her, and she said she "has to" play the cigar box guitar at every show as everybody is always calling for it. It really is just one of the best mean raw guitar sounds out there and she's picked songs that really work with it. She picked it up at a blues festival from a guy that just had them sitting on a table for sale. I dunno how she keeps that little wood box playing with all the use it gets.
The young lady has soul. Love her voice & style. Tight band too. Keep the blues and R&B alive Samantha. Ive been playing blues on the harp for over 35 yrs and the blues never get old.

Saw in St Louis last week, The Atomic Cowboy. You have to see this act live..incredible. She has added keyboards, brass and it is a very tight group. She is a headliner....catch her in the 2019 festival season. J
Ms. Fish just radiates emotion, has a mighty voice, and plays better than most leads. She serves up red meat all evening. I love it to no end. Might not be kosher though..

Excellent audio on the vocals. datflys did a great job on this. Ms. Fish is already known as a fine guitar player, but she's also a great songwriter and captivating singer. Most of her videos are underbalanced on the vocals.
So, as I sit here in Ohio in January this reminds me that there will be warm days again. Will be seeing her band twice in two days next week. I can appreciate the John Hiatt influence but I hope she is over most of the chills and fever and back to some of her old school self for these upcoming shows. We'll see. Just cracked my third double ipa of the evening and can't help but laugh at the beer sponsor for this fest.
