Surely I can’t be first? 😂 Concerning the antagonists re PEV’s - t’s just shoddy, lazy non-journalism, coupled with lack of understanding of the bigger picture, as when all things are considered it would be the proponents of cars and SUV’s who take all the space, pollute the city and suburban air quality and environment, and create the noise which so detracts from pleasant city life. A brave mayor would encourage alternative days for PEVs and cars, and it would very quickly transpire which group are the ones which should be encouraged and the others eh should’ve dissuaded. Onward, great leader!
The first and perhaps the wisest too! I think we should start to petition for such a brave mayor to do exactly as you suggest!

Potholes and uneven road surfaces are the main causes of road accidents here in Ireland. Which irritates me.
I rode the length of Ireland on an EUC a few years back. Loved it.
@@wheellifejon Glad you love your trip here in Ireland. There are quite a few areas that you can drive an EUC away from the road, unfortunately these roads are not somewhat maintained properly nowadays and I see large cracks making roads uneven, sometimes roots from trees push up from the tarmac, etc. I just hope if the gov't here are really serious on pushing going green, they'll fix the bike paths or pedestrian roads so it won't be dangerous for us EUC riders competing with cars and trucks on roads.

Rental eScooters - are a problem. Not that there is anything wrong with an eScooter per sey, but like with ourselves, these things have riding characteristics and things you have to know and have practiced to ride them properly. Unlike ourselves it is possible just to hire one and go, not going to end well with the more reckless types. Rental, hardly shouts out the need for commitment , training and due care and attention. Not only that but they are appearing in large numbers. Cycles are getting a similar reputation in the cities especially, but they have been around too long to be banned, it's just the minority are spoiling it for the considerate and sensible majority. As to the question of bans generally - that's not going to happen, you cannot turn back the tide, no more than when the motor car first presented a threat to the horse and carriage.
I"m really enjoying the EUC show and your other videos have been great also. I See that you don't use power pads on your V12. Do you get the full potential from your wheel? I have a V12 and my distributor told me that I won't get the best out of the wheel without them. Thanks.
Thanks for the feed back. I have never tended to ride with powerpads. I love the v12 and maybe I should give it a go with pads on to see how different it is.

I do think they should shift rental scooters to a more dock based regime, but the hatred people have for them is very weird. I live on the border of a University campus and people do leave them annoying places, potentially on purpose (the pedestrian access ramp at intersections, for example), but I’d focus on that problem rather than that 5 people might have slipped and skinned their knees or ridden one drunk. In general, letting people skip driving for short trips is a very positive thing.
Wise words. I am baffled by the way people do just abandon scooters... like disgarded litter. PEVs are a perfect solution for mobility in over populated and highly polluted urban areas... we are just in the teething phase of a new technology revolution!
That AVS fall is a result of a man pushing a wheel beyond its limits. Which caused unknown monetary damages and a crash of another rider. It seems a bit selfish to me. And the rider will not admit its time to get a new wheel. Because a part failed. Not because you're pushing that wheel to its absolute limits which caused the part to fail.. Crazy. If you want to do 50mph+ and dont have a wheel capable of doing 60mph under load, then expect to cutout. Thats not being an extreme rider, its being an ignorant rider. Just my hot take. I can get in a car and push it to redline and blow it. Does that make me an extreme driver? Can I call nascar now and sign my contract?
A lot of the point of racing is that crashes might happen. In the case of EUC races, it’s still much safer than motorcycle or car racing. EUC racers are going to get cutouts, they are trying to go as fast as possible.
I think there will always be risks if people can just turn up on any wheel and race... asking for crashes. Putting unevenly matched wheels against each other will result in overpowering wheels and crashes as people try to push their wheels beyond the power capacities. Having wheel catagory races would help solve that... same as having specs for Formula 1, 2 and 3 for example. We are pioneers of a whole new form of sports! There will be lots of learning curves along the way I guess.
