Yea, cats have the advantage of having more than 1 creature at 2 mana on their curve lol.
You probably forgot that if you make the copy with reflection on your opponent's end step, you don't have to sacrifice it and you untap with it. Lost a bunch of letal like that in game 1. It's also an incredible mana sink when you have two reflections in play
He could also have made instant speed chump blockers
I wish Harmless Offering had the same flavor text as Jinxed Idol, where it just says: "Here."
“Harmless Demons” is a sick deck name imo

I want to see a Liliana's Contract deck based on changelings.
I play it in an ally's commander deck with maskwood nexus as the maskwood nexus enables an infinite etb loop for me.
@@christianbarrett3040 changing creature types always leads to crazy interactions, my favorite is the card conspiracy. Its an older card that works similarly to Maskwood nexus, but you choose a creature type, and it makes all your creatures that type. The thing is, it's NOT in addition to their other types, so if you name...scarecrow, and then cast Restoration angel while you control reaper king, resto can now blink itself (because it's no longer an angel) and you get to blow up ALL THE THINGS

Fable is an absurd card, but I'm OK with that because it's fundamentally an enabler. Sure, it gets jammed into every deck that can play it, but it usually helps your jank do crazy stuff instead of just winning by itself. Compare that to Urza's Saga, where yeah, sure, it can tutor up one of your sweet combo pieces... but you're probably just going to end up making two Constructs and beating down in 90% of the games where you draw it.

I think my version of this deck would play more Demonic Pacts and cut the Liliana's Contract and the janky demons. Getting to play 6-8 copies of offering-able cards feels like a major upgrade and they work great in multiples since you only need to be able to donate the first one
I swear that Seth and I must be on the same wave length...I was play testing around with Gleeful Smash, then the Gleeful Whacking video comes out... LITERALLY YESTERDAY I was building around harmless offering and Archfiend of the Dross and then this!!!
I run this in Standard with Archfiend and Fateful Handoff
Now that has some possession issues! in a manner of any willing force! loved this and the intro was just so cool!
Special win or lose conditions should definitely have a different effect than "opponent's head explodes"
It doesn't need to be too flashy, but it needs to be different.

I agree Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire is so much better than at first glance. Seems hard to get the card search trigger but the OP doesn't want to block and lose their good creature and chumping doesn't stop it. I have it as my Commander for a demon tribal deck and as a 4 of in my Lilliana's contract demon deck and it is sooo good. Especially as a Commander can tutor everything including demonic tutor lol and Runescape Demon
Every time I put it in a deck it overperforms. I guess I need to play it more often :)
I love that the tools for this combo exist in Standard right now.

Crim was real high on Archfiend of the Dross during prerelease. I'm sad he doesn't see more play.
It's because of the fact that fatal push is in older formats and there's too much life gain stalling going around in standard. spending your fourth turn tapping out for a creature that doesn't impact the board immediately is a death sentence in Historic/pioneer usually, and in standard if your opponent can chump it/live through all four attacks, then you're stuck having to kill your own demon, or lose to it.
At least it's like the best rare to pull in draft, so there's that.

i got a good historic/pioneer/modern/legacy vintage 2 card combo: vorinclex, monsterous raider- vraska betrayals sting.
why not run fateful handoff? draw 4 seems better for an extra mana than harmless offering unless im missing something
I don’t have fateful handoff memorized but if I remember correctly handoff doesn’t work with enchantments
@@demiurge2501 Correct. But there is only one Demonic Pact so that isn't as much of a setback.
You want to use the offerings to win the game most of the time, so drawing or not doesn't matter, that makes the harmless offering better as it cost 1 less
@@cris5555 there are cases where you clone the archfiend and then donate it
Handoff works better for donating things that don’t instantly kill your opponent like if you need to wait a few turns those extra cards can help you get there.. but this deck doesn’t really have that issue plus it can’t deal with an opponent’s demon without outright killing it so it’s just better to go for the combo

What about the 4 cc black offering that’s in ONE that’s offering 5-8 and I would concentrate more on removal and setup the offering plan with either pact and/ or demon. At least that’s how I have my version setup

I really think this is a try again type of situation because there were a few things that could have been done to mitigate some of those harsh match ups

I tried to play Archfiend fairly in Pioneer a little, and I think the first time I got one down my opponent hit it with Heartless Act!!!

against that aura deck in game two, I think the line w/ fatal on sram should have been to thoughtseize and take all that glitters, then when he tries to load up sram on his turn, fatal push. Could have gotten rid of two auras and the creature that way.

Or, hear me out, you could play Archfiend of the Dross and then enchant metamorphic alteration onto an opponent’s creature to turn it into Archfiend without oil counters.
@@TheWorldsStage metamorphic alteration is an aura that turns enchanted creature into a copy of another creature. It doesn’t trigger any etb.
