      Yeah it does not feel as good as a mondo/tartan/regupol track, but it works.
      It's a multi-use surface, not exactly sure what it is, but many gym floors in Norway are like this.
      We can't use sharp spikes though, they have to be flat and a bit short, so we don't rip up the track.

      It is called a toe drag block start.
      I don't do it consciously any more, it just happens.

    Mathias first of all i want to say that i watched every video that u have and i really enjoyed that content u are make making but i have one question. Since i started sprinting trainings inspired by you ofc i can say i have decent body i know how to be on diets and mostly im healthy but when i train for example the workout u posted on inst story with the 20x60m sprinting i could do only 10x60 and thats it. I am getting really tired and exhausted from training everyday. How do you keep such high energy how do you keep going? Thanks for the answer i love you

    • @alexanderbijkerk6215
      @alexanderbijkerk6215 Před 4 lety +1

      You cannot expect to train like Matthias when you start. You have to build up your training volume each week or month. This could mean that you do 5x60 to start, and each week or month you add an extra repetition until you reach your maximum recoverable volume (which is the maximum amount you can train and still recover in time for your next session). Everyone has a different maximum recovery volume and you shouldn't expect it to be the same as Matthias (It could potentially be higher but that's unlikely). If you find that you become sore for a long time after a session, it's because you went over your maximum recovery volume and you need to have a deload week where you train very easy followed by a new training cycle that had less volume. I hope this helps.

    • @alexanderbijkerk6215
      @alexanderbijkerk6215 Před 4 lety

      If you are tired you should consider increasing your caloric intake throughout the day. It is likely that you are burning through calories during the session and are in a deficit afterwards. Eating more will help you recover and will allow you to train harder. Just make sure thstyou you don't train within 2 hours of eating a meal.

    • @mightyninja7915

      @@hovejoha I am a little bit elitist i guess when it comes to squat. But as far as i know half or quarter squats are at the best equal with atg squats in some aspects and worse in other aspects. So by adding unnecessary weight you just increase your chances of injury and gain nothing really. At the end of the day muscles dont feel how much weight you used but they feel how you use those weights. Atg squats are very good for this reason. Maximum result with minimum weights + natural so minimum risk of injury especially for knees. One of my sprinter friends told me he ruined his knees by half squatting. But hey whatever you feel like doing do it. Im sure you are aware of all of those things.

    • @alexanderbijkerk6215
      @alexanderbijkerk6215 Před 4 lety +1

      Those squats are designed to overload the higher end of muscle strength. What's more important is how he does them explosively. It is an explosive exercise and is not aimed at hypertrophy or strength.
