@@tinyt.w.i.m7291 Leo doesn't sandbag. Normally he tries out different characters to see which of them he can use in different matchups that he struggles against. Kazuya is definitely a matchup he struggles with.

It's crazy how many interactions a character like Marth needs to win, compared to Kazuya who wins one interaction to take a stock.

The amount of times Riddles crouch dashed through Leo’s moves was ludicrous. Like seeing him CD through cloud and Marth side B made me so sad.
Yeah, that is honestly the type of cheeze no one likes in this game. People used to complain for pikachu pancake hurtbox shifting and now we have this in game. Insane how far powercreep can go with a game.

Those fucking moves are one of the most irritating to get hit by
its not easy to do requires well timed inputs and crouch dash itself doesnt really give you anything since if you want to act out of it and use any of your good moves you have to make yourself vulnerable for a few frames

Welcome to smash! See, we have things here called invincibility frames! Jeez man, maybe he knew what Leo would do and countered it with a tombstone crusher. That was just a good play in this situation.

W Marth respect. Honestly one of the coolest characters in the game imo, and it takes some skill to really play him well. Marth will always be one of my boys, been playing him since Melee

Auto turn around, rage drive, super armor AND INVINCIBILITY…. Kazuya definitely doesn’t carry.

Love watching Leo's Marth
When Leo switched to Marth I could hear the final boss music that thing is WAY scarier than it feels like it should be (and so is Leo geez)
Leo's Marth is probably his worst character that he's used in tournament. He's the only character Leo hasn't been able to win big sets with.
@@dingo9696 I can agree with this. As much as I love the Leo Marth, he has a lot of things to work on with the character. Even when he had Marth as a main, he had a lot of things to work on (and I'm NOT talking about landing tippers). I already noticed a lot of big situations Leo isn't capitalizing on. He had multiple opportunities to take a stock off stage but he stayed on stage, for example.
@@dingo9696 I'm only talking about his level of optimization, not his tournament results. His neutral, advantage, and disadvantage were all almost terrifyingly clean, despite the fact that he uses this character almost the least out of all of the ones he can play. Also, that depends on what you call a "big set." He's still taken games off of plenty of top players with this character.

Kazuya is so frustrating to watch. He seems so unnaturally strong. I will say he's a weird character in the sense that whenever I try to play him he feels so heavy and slow and so I suck with him but when I fight him I get my ass kicked and when I watch you play him you just destroy people but my mind keeps telling me he shouldn't be a good character.
He's a good character. He's heavy with good recovery and could kill you, or get at least 40% in one interaction. Sure his neutral isn't good, but you can only make so many mistakes against Kazuya.
At least an A tier character, nearly S tier
He’s very good. His reward on hit is disgusting. Opponents usually have to win neutral like 4 or 5 times more than kazuya. And all of his electric moves just straight up beat every other move, so that more than makes up for a ‘lackluster’ neutral in my opinion.
His recovery is very decent, and I think his bad disadvantage is exaggerated… has command grab to get down.
I mean this set pretty much proves it lol. Dismantled best player in world online, definitely won much fewer neutral interactions
@@Corbinwhite12 If I'm being honest... As a "fan" of both players... I watch this and don't at ALL see this as Leo being dismantled. It's not even as simple as "Leo won so much more neutral" or "Kazuya just kisses of death you." Both of which are true. The BS for me is Kazuya LITERALLY, like actually literally just fazes through crap. Tough guy, armor, and SO much invincibility. It's infuriating watching Leo punish Kazuya with his incredible spacing, only for the hit to literally not work. AND the moves that are invincible straight up kill. The heck was Sakurai thinking man

Kazuya basically is scary, in all definition.
Those invincibility frames on Kazuya are really disgusting... He already is a very good character, has electric, a spike, a reflector, can act after up b, a projectile, some "disjointed" attacks, rage drive, command grab, basically 0 to deaths...
Why on Earth does he deserve those I-frames?
I mean most of it is to stay faithful to how Kazuya plays in Tekken, but also since it all flows into his kit. I'm not saying Kazuya is bad, he is a really good character in the right hands. But he does have very glaring weaknesses his laser while annoying, is laggy and easy to dodge and react to in an offline setting. His up b does have priority in some cases against some moves but you can't act out of it, there is a window where you just kinda have to wait for it to end. Likewise the only reason some of his attacks are disjointed is because of the intangibility. Which he does need since he has the worst disadvantage state next to DK and a horrible time getting off of ledge due to a frame 7 squat jump. If he wasn't intangible you'd be trading a lot and it's pretty easy to camp Kazuya as is, so him having intangibility is needed. Electric is a good move and rage drive can be frustrating, but getting rid of the I frames for Kazuya. Is like asking to remove the super armor or belly armor off of K rool or getting rid of DK's grab setups.

Bandai Namco were big benefactors working on the game and apparently they wanted him to play exactly like his counterpart in the Tekken games. And if have ever played a Tekken game you already know how crazy the combos are and the large amount of moves each character has.

Leo was having a bad game and that’s normal from time to time good stuff riddles
Kazuya is the worst character to exist in smash. The strongest reflect in the game? Two jumps AND a king up B? Command grab? A lot of hyper armor? Stuns? No character needs all of that.
I loved the set, however Leo if you're reading this: Crackshoot from ledge like everytime beat out whatever you were trying to do. Either counter or backspace for ftilt (mixing up jab in order to bait out airdodge).

Kazuya is a hard character execute but even at mid level kazuya could just land stray hits and win with his absurd kill power armor and intangible moves. Stop excusing a broken character just because you play him everyone knows he is broken and very much is top 5 in game when you get down the execution which is only hard if you play nothing but smash and suck at command inputs.

@@tile-maker4962 Considering Dabuz was using arguably the best keep away character in the game, it’s no surprise he beat his Kazuya that badly. It’s essentially a hard counter, DLC vs DLC. 2 badly designed characters.
