I remember when you used to spell Konpa correctly. Now you spell Konpa like the people that simply don't know how to spell the Haitian Creole. In the Haitian Creole, we don't replace "n" by "m" in front of "b" and "p". Kreyòl se pa Fransè; Kreyòl se Kreyòl. Ex: Konpa, Kanpe, kenbe, konbyen, konplo, anpil, enposib...
The important thing is to be aware of it, in this case you have to fight to make the spelling official worldwide, because for the moment it is not that. Since the konpa has become international, several writings have been created because of the grammar rules of the different languages, Creole: Konpa / French: Compas/ international commercial: kompa

However, since we have both French and Creole in Haiti 🇭🇹, we spell it both ways: Compas and/or Konpa. Any other spelling is confusing and inconsiderate to the Haitian Culture and the Haitian Creole. Just because a bunch of people misspell Konpa in Creole, that doesn't mean I have to misspell it, too. However, I understand you; I simply used to feel proud and happy that you spelled it correctly😃, instead of following the crowd like many others do. Anyway, thanks for sharing the music 🎶 😀.

Let's be honest here, there's no official spelling. Nemours himself spelled it COMPAS DIRECT in all his album. Ex:

Je suis la seule à trouver que la fusion des deux ressemble à la cadence de la Martinique et Guadeloupe dans les années 70/80, genre Perfecta ou les Aiglons.

C'est sur, puisqu'ils étaient eux-mêmes influencés par la musique haïtienne et la musique cubaine.
La cadence (kadense) est un style musical d’ORIGINE haïtienne à la base donc c’est tout à fait normale. Haïti n’est seulement connu pour le kompa 😉
