Change / Restore IMEI MTK6577 China Dual Sim Phone Engineer Mode

Hopefully this video will help you change or restore your IMEI on your MTK mediatek phone or Chinese or phones from China. Please follow instructions carefully. I cannot offer support for this however it should work with most MTK bases phones. Also goes without saying that do this at your own risk.
Also for those who do not know their engineering mode code download an app called "MTK Engineering Mode" I don't have a link so please search google for it.
1. Install "MTK Engineering Mode" then Start App
2. Then go to MTK Settings
3. Go to Connectivity
4. Go to CDS Information
5. Go to Radio Information
6. Select Phone1
7. At the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,7,”IMEI_1″ (Put your first IMEI number, check phone box or case for imei)
8. Hit send command and you will / may get a confirmation that "sent to mSend".
9. Now go back and select “Phone2″ (for the second IMEI number)
10. At the top there is a command line which begins “AT+” just type there “AT +EGMR=1,10,”IMEI_2″ (Put your second IMEI number)
11. Reboot your phone and check you IMEI number (Dial *#06#).

Many thanks for this :-) After factory resetting my Bird V1277 with a MTK6577 chipset I was getting the "invalid imei" message but by using the instructions in this wonderful video I have solved the problem.

You need to put a space after AT+ so it shoould be AT+ EGMR and not AT+EGMR, I hope that makes sense.
MantisTechUK I am having an error saying "AT command is failed to send". Deleting the space and "This command is not allowed in user build". Please help.
Hyun Go Lee if it says "This command is not allowed in user build", you could try the following
You must be a developer in your phone.
How? go to settings> about phone> click your build number 5 times until it says that you;re a developer.
i did, but i have the same error "This command is not allowed in user build", mi phone is a blue studio 5.0 c hd
You have to add Space (AT +EGMR) not like that AT+EGMR.
This command is not allowed in user build....im a developer and it dnt werk..?

Hi MantisTechUK, Could you tell me if this method works with the lenovo A850? That is a dual SIM device, nonetheless, it has only 1 IMEI number! This device worked for only a couple hours, then the touch screen went dead from the middle of the scree toward the bottom, including the capacitive buttons. I sent for a new digitizer from china so that I can try your method (the part of the screen that appear the dialer is unresponding). so I have to wait till the digitizer arrives here. Another question, In spite of having only one IMEI number, is it possible to add another IMEI number from another broken device I have? Congratulation for the tutorial! Keep up the awesome job!

hi, this isnt too old a video so i hope i get an answer back...I have a galaxy note 2 that i bought recently because it was a great deal, however the friend i bought it from had previously flashed it and seems to have made a mistake in the system once i factory restored it.. the system gave it a different IMEI number than the one listed on the sticker behind the battery, if i do your method in this video does that "change" the current IMEI number that is listed below phone 1? i am having trouble finding any specific information that is for my current issue, after hours and hours of videos, not so very light reading and some hair pulling dramatic end of the world sceneraios over the money ive already spent on this phone, I hope that this fixes my network conectivity issue before i have to take it to a licenced retailer and or technicia...Thanks in advanced!

1:34 I tried to follow the instruction and type my phone Imei (after I flashing it the other day) but when I press Send At Command nothing happened, not even notification whether command failed or not, so do you know the solution? My phone is Lenovo A369i dual sim, I flashed it with Row201.

Is there any way to restore the original IMEI without having a backup beforehand? I have a fake lenovo s850c and while flashing the firmware, the IMEI got corrupted. I tried to restore the IMEI found under the battery, but it appears to be fake, as it does not work. Any ideas?

is there a way to change to change the imei without going through radio information... this method wont work on my rooted phone. there was a tutorial on how to do it but I can't find it anywhere anymore. it had to do with changing the values to '6 and '4. I'm so pissed off because I forgot how to do it.

Do you know how to change an invalid IMEI? I bought a new (so not blocked) android china phone but my service provider won't recognize the IMEI but I know others who use this exact phone so seems it is just the IMEI is messed up.

Hi please could you help me , I have tried all sorts of codes to enter the engineering mode on my phone and none have worked. the phone is a GT-19600 android version 4.4.2 the *#06# code works and comes up with invalid / 01. Some of the other codes that i have tried donot allow me to enter the full number . I would be grateful for any help
