Stay tuned for my first ride video with it, spoiler alert it has been working really well! I had to bend the clutch arm on mine a little bit for clearance which I missed in this video. I talk about it in the next one. Enjoy the kit!
You don't need electric start on a 250cc 2-stroke. You just need to lower that stupidly tall YZ 2-stroke (I have the 2019), so you can pull out the kick start lever with out falling over. :)
1" off the seat. .75" off the suspension top out. You go take the berm way on the outside there stilts,--I will take the inside off camber now. :)
I used 2 SC1 Batterys for 24v to starter it starts SUPER FAST!

hello my friend how are you.... i am brazilian and a lover of two stroke bikes, i had a yamaha wr 250z 98 and i also adapted the electric starter on the motorcycle, i used it for years and in enduro I see the importance of having an electric start, yamaha is sinning in not inserting the electric starter in the yz 250x and they should increase its motor by 300cc..... you have my congratulations, your project was excellent.....

Hey Cesar, I am running the TUSK universal digital radiator fan kit from rocky mountain. I honestly can't recommend it. While the fan works the temperature sensor on mine failed. I ended up wiring it up too a simple switch on my bars so I can manually turn it on or off. This works well but isn't perfect. When I find a solution I really like Ill be sure to make a video.

Hey thanks for the video. I also have a 09 yz250 ride at carnegie as well. I have been hesitant on getting one of these after watching/reading some of the bad reviews. How has your system held up? Still worth it? Any lessons learned or failures of the system? Do you know if panthera has made a 2nd gen model for the yz? Thanks for your videos!
I have been meaning to make a follow up to this video…. The system ran nearly perfect for 18 months. Put over a hundred hours on it. I then started having some weird symptoms, i thought I blew up my motor. It turns out the bike wasn’t running because the stator pickup had debris on it. This was a big deal but at least it was fixed. The bike then ran perfect. I put about 5 hours on the bike, perfect. I then took it to a race, page AZ hard enduro. About 15 minutes into the race bike completely stopped. The stator had failed. I actually swapped back to all stock during the race and finished a single lap. I was very upset. I contacted panthera, and he wouldn’t help me because I was a few months out of warsnty. I would consider this a defect or a design flaw that is not acceptable. In any case the stator failed. If you do want this kit get the version without charging. It has its own isssue (you have to modify your flywheel permanently) but at least it will not leave your bike dead with absolutely NO way to fix it. Unless you have your whole stoke flywheel and stator. I think the company is cool, the idea is cool, the build quality seems high. But I think the design must have some issue. I will be getting a bike with a factory e start next, for now I will either ride without e start or use the kit without charging.
@@GoldenAppleGamers Devin thanks for all this pertinent info. Yeah I think the same that it is a great idea, but long term not there yet. In the middle of the desert or forest and the bike completely dead unable to start.....kinda a problem and with a one year warrant at that price, gonna keep on kicking and bump starting this machine until I do the same of buying a bike with e start from the factory. Also wanted to ask did you install an on off switch for your radiator fan?
I installed the tusk racing universal fan and attached it to a battery but I liked your idea of wiring in a on/off switch to your handlebars to manually turn it on and off.
Also what are your thoughts on a big bore 300 upgrade kit....have you installed or looked into getting one?
How has yamaha not made an E start for these bikes? You would think at least there would be an aftermarket kit that has been around for a while that has been proven to work

Couldn't quite hear you over the bike when it wouldn't start. Basically wont start cold on the e-start ?. Wonder if the 8 cell would be better cold ?? . Either way I'm looking forward to mine ! , don't mind kicking it cold anyway 👍
It wont turn the bike over quickly if your not "Trying to start it". This means fuel on, choke on, throttle cracked open like you are ready to go. I have cold started it a number of times now using this procedure and it comes straight to life. Once it has warmed up for a few minutes it starts instantly, but you still have to crack the throttle a touch like you normally would when kicking it. drop a subscription, I have a first ride video comming out with a tip on bending the clutch arm. Looks like I should pay more attention to my audio in the future.
@@GoldenAppleGamers that sounds promising then ! Even if it didn't start cold ,I would prefer the extra room afforded by the smaller battery . But since it does, even better 😃. Very nicely done btw 👍
So far so good with the smaller battery!🤙🏼 air filter change isn’t that bad with the 4 cell battery. thanks for watching and commenting!

No, it’s not the new enduro super weapon. It’s a great bike for what it is. Don’t waste time and money trying to make it some it’s not...it’ll save you lots of frustration.
It's all down t personal preference. I don't think the bike has any flaws after adding the electric start. Most fun bike I have ever owned!
Had many bikes, but the yz is just awesome.
I didn't know the swingarm is above the air box news to me I couldn't imagine putting a 1200 dollar starter on a 1200 dollar bike
Caught that too.. I'm sure he meant subframe.... I was going to comment, then I suddenly realized I wasn't a douche. Pretty sure a 2020 yz250x is worth more than 1200 especially in today's market and with an e-start, probably even more
Just kick start your bike FFS ! Or buy a ktm grandpa package.
Got it for racing hard enduros. Energy adds up in a longer race and time too. Otherwise I think kicking works great.
