  • Hello, friends! Here is another super easy lettuce wrap recipe - perfect for a Paleo or Whole30 lifestyle. The amount that I make in the video would probably be good for four people (my husband and I had about half for lunch and then had leftovers the next day - it's ok as leftovers, but better right when you make it). You could also add in other veggies - maybe onions or bell peppers could be nice! Enjoy!

      THANK YOU!!! I have always been very, very careful with my teeth. I had braces when I was 11 and have always taken good care of them. (One of the worst days of my life, though, was when I accidentally chomped onto a fork and broke off a piece of one of my front teeth while eating a piece of broccoli - had to get the two big front teeth shaved down a bit to even it out. You can't see it from the front, but there is a tiny bit missing that's only visible if I bend forward and you really pay attention. Haha, so that's my tooth secret!)

    I stumbled on your kombucha video a couple days ago and it inspired me to make my own! I literally ordered a basic kit overnight, and assembled it yesterday. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

      Awesome! So excited for you and your brew! Where did you get the kit from?

      I got it from amazon, The Kombucha Shop. It has all the basic tools, and I figure I can upgrade to a larger brewing container after I use the one gallon size a couple of times, to get good! I did order another one gallon jar so I can flavor it but start a new one a bit sooner. Given the price of kombucha at the store, I seriously cannot wait! I got some on sale this week, got 4 bottles, and still spent nearly $15!!! I haven't even succeeded in making a batch yet but have already begun recommending home brewing to my friends who also enjoy kombucha, it is just so cost effective!

      Sounds great! So glad you are starting to brew your own and save money in the process - plus you will have a lot of fun figuring out which flavor combinations you like! Get yourself the Big Book of Kombucha, too - such an amazing resource (don't bother with other kombucha books - I have a couple and they're all just meh). Keep me posted!

      I ordered the book and found it super helpful, and it relieved a lot of my concerns about things going wrong! I have my first batch carbonating on the counter now, strawberry lemon flavored! I am thinking of doing a fruit with mint flavor for the batch brewing now. Thanks again for inspiring me and making me realize how easy this really is!

      Hey! Thanks for putting me in your blog, how cool! The photos wouldn't work for me, though - the photos for your other posts all worked, but not for the kombucha post. I'm so happy you are having fun with kombucha and that I could be a little source of inspiration!!! And girl, just wait until your brew is really cooking - I have kombucha (and jun) coming out of my ears right now - way too much for me to drink (starting to double up and have two bottles per day!)!

    Question! Could this mix be put into a storing container and used later, or will the avocado brown?

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  Před 4 lety

      Sometimes we have leftovers of this and it's usually still ok a day later (it's a little brown, but you just mix it up and it looks ok. Also, did you know that if you have a bunch of guacamole, you can put a couple avocado pits in it and it's meant to keep it from browning?

    If you haven't tried fresh Tuna then you need to. Get a tuna steak at your fav store and cook it up. You'll never eat the canned stuff again. The difference is amazing.
    I was invited to a friends fish bbq once, the host was a long range sport fisherman, and they were having fresh Tuna steaks. I had only had the canned stuff so I thought this was going to be totally gross but I went anyway. The tuna flavor of fresh tuna is delicate while the canned stuff is very pronounced.
    Anecdotally, there is such a difference in Tuna's altogether. I got to try Blue fin and Yellow fin tuna and they are great. Prior to this I have only caught and eaten Yellow Tail but the long range guys won't keep them as they don't like the taste.

      Oh gosh, for sure - the flavor of fresh tuna vs canned is so different! It's hard to believe it comes from the same creature. I don't often buy fresh tuna these days because I keep reading about how it has so much mercury in it (plus it's soooo pricey). Your friend's BBQ sounds incredible - how cool!

    can I use wrap

      You could definitely put this filling into a traditional flour wrap. I don't eat gluten, so I go with a lettuce wrap instead. :D
