Rhythmbox works, although i just copy and paste once converted into mp3. i use Sound Converter to do it.
Can you download music using the USB cable or do you have to take out the SD card to do it?

I believe that it can be done over the USB cable, but plugging the microsd card into your computer probably is best, as long as your computer is compatible with the filesystem and doesn't corrupt it. USB transfer over the cable can be slow.

i think you have the repeat mode turned to "intro". When playing a song, click menu and change the repeat mode to "normal"

..that's cause u somehow managed to change the way it's playing (forgot the name, but i mean it like shuffle, repeat etc) you've changed it to 'Intro' that's why

How is it with movies?
Well, you have to re-scale the movies into a smaller pixel format, 300ish, in order to get it to play correctly, and not eat up too much memory. The audio shouldn't be a problem.
