Heard bass at 0:09.. This video is a failure.
normal rob is playing, not Jason
Actually, if you pay enough attention, you can hear the bass in the album at some parts, like in the beginning of one and in some parts in to live is to die.
ACtually you can hear the bass throughout the entire album if you have good speakers. It's just that the guitar is mixed very loud compared to the bass, so with "normal" speakers the bass is overwhelmed.
***** Yeah, that doesn't exist anywhere. The bass is there for you to listen to it.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
There's no bass... Sounds so real :'v
That was a good one!
Beat me to it. I was going to say "painstaking accuracy".
Sounds so grim, so true, so real!
I can actually hear the bass, but it blends with the guitar sound so it's hard to hear. Though the bass is clearly heard on the chorus.
No wah- bonus!
Really does it justice.. wait a minute..
pieter melkam Lady Justice has been raped, Truth assassin... Rolls of red tape seal your lips, now you're done in....yup...
pieter melkam ...And Justice For All
High fiiiive very niiiice!!!

4:20 - 4:25 - That's totally ...And Justice For All
Ho shit dude !
yeah, I'm proud I got this reference, that song's drum track is on my dna by now

If All Nightmare long was on ... And justice for All ??
This. Really interesting song to listen in the old tones.
oh fuck, PLEASE
to the top
Nehuen. hell yes!!
HELL YEAH!! That's already a great song, but with the AJFA mix it would sound insanely good!
This is absolutely spectacular. The accuracy in tone, technique, mixing... this sounds *exactly* like if Moth Into Flame was an AJFA song. Fucking good job dude.
I'm actually submitting this to Ultimate-Guitar!
why?
Hans Grouper Imho now it sounds literally like it was taken from AJFA. Not only the mix, but the song itself.
V'yell Gohl this just proves how awesome the song is.
Eazy E That's very true, my friend
1:02 Riff is genius, Hetfield is a monster. To play that and sing at the same time, amazing...
@@FartSniffer1 honestly battery is probably the most insane example of this
@@cillee997 Yep, Battery for sure. Though Creeping Death is a bitch to play and sing at the same time as well (source: someone who tried)
For me AJFA was really easy, but Master of puppets verse fucked with me.
That riff needs to be a main riff in a song
@@cillee997 same goes for That Was Just Your Life. That song is overlooked yet a monster song
You should be Metallica's new producer wtf this is sick
What? force Metallica to use a tone that they may not want to use and kill creativity as a result?.....
Piper at the Gates of dawn
@Dutch van der Linde No he isn't, idiot.
He some how has mastered even that one low frequency into the mix that drives everyone nuts.
@@daveskritterkingdom It's rerecorded clearly and you can get justice tone super easy with EQ large cut at 600-800 Hz low shelf or boost low end to about 200hz tops to bring out that woofy palm mute. Cut everything below 80hz and roll off highs around 6khz but that part totally depends on the particular gear used. Use a spectrum analyser on the guitar only tracks and you can get very close that's what I did have a justice plug in stack saved now
FUCK!!!!!!!!! 4:37 So straight off of Justice!
Dark Helmet Yeah! Sounded like the shortest straw :)
IKR fucking awesome!!
I died when i heard that! simpy awesome!
Dark Helmet dude if this was like a bonus track for the and justice album or just the regular track that would be awesome
The harmonizing at 2:16 is the most Justice thing ever!!
I wish we could see a video of lars or james reacting to this :D
Luís Borges FUCKING SAME dude. I would pay to see that. They need to realize that their old tones were better, and hopefully evolve in the right direction and make an awesome new one
Oh yasss!
Unfortunately, james has said he hates the way AJFA sounds, I'd rather se lars, since he is responsible for its tone anyway
I wish we could see kirk reacting
@@belliiahmed "WOW, GUYS!"
Well done man, I hear the effort you put in. Really badass
+LambChopper678 Thanks man! means a lot
LambChopper678 You should do something like this too since you got all the tones spot on!
All you need is Hetfileds voice from before he blew it out on the "Black Album" and you've got a masterpiece!
Sick cross over
Wow, its actually listenable now. 2 Large thumbs up.
It was fine originally
fuck no
Whoa there, you're so edgy I nearly cut myself.
Metallica fanboys are fucking dicks
holy shit! im dead laughing! lol
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!
AJFA is the most metal tone of all time!
That would be Ride the Lightning, but Justice is also good.
+Hélder Tiago shut the hell up
Rust in Peace had most metal tone m8
haha nice one
Quiet.
I've got chills like this was an unreleased demo from Justice.
Same here bro this is cool shit
J'attendais quand meme une certaine voix...
This is so unbelievable that's almost non-human! What this guy is doing is quite revolutionary. For the first time in music history, we, fans, are listening to an album the way WE want to hear it, not the way a band wants us to hear it. I must admit I've listened to this version way more times than the original version.
Amazing ain't it?
Daniel Oliveira this is pretty badass, i would like to hear a ride the lightning version though
entirely agree, Daniel Oliveira
Same here.
Same here.
Metallica needs to hear this!
It would be a dream come true if they see my videos!
Great job!
Nick Selig - it is clear that this tuning really makes it sound very fast. it make a lot of different ... good job man . im sure Metallica will. noticed this one day
Dude you are totally right. exactly what I was thinking about everything from st. anger to now... This has much more power behind it and sounds much more clear. the recording sound used for this album was superb with exception of no bass.
are you talking about this having more power than st anger? or than the real song? cause holy shit moth into flame and hardwired have more power than almost anything else lol (my opinion) the low guitars and loud bass are just so awesome on the new stuff! I love it so much!
now you gotta do 'Hardwired' on 'Ride The Lightning'
I prefer Hardwired with the Kill Em All tone
nope, Master of Puppets' sound because they use more double pedal than other albums
since Hardwired is basically Metal Militia 2 anyway
Yeah , It fits the album very well.
RTL and KEA are the best sounds they have!
The justice tone is just crushing... Love it
Bass is too loud. :P Lol just kidding. Great job!
didn't know you were a metallica fan
@@tknzero8027 same 💀
👌🙏🏼
hahaha I was about to comment that, I feels weird to hear an "AJFA" song with bass hitting my ears
When production changes the quality of the same song...
Newsted Head Only that some parts are slightly changed. :p
So, in conclusion: The Hardwired songs are like oldschool Metallica but only if fans make them sound like their old setup. Well, what does that tell us? I don't know. Anyone want a pizza roll?
trexation
I'll take one thx
funny thing is, its the same gear since MoP, just different EQ and mixing!
they are using same elements but different samples and mixing of it.
funny fact: james used eetfuk guitar on this album.
yes give me ten plz
i would kill for that fucking guitar
all the dislikes are from lars
lol
Trish Drew why would lars dislike this? His best performance was on the justice album
LMAO
*robert trujillo
Trish Drew from Mustaine
Who else can imagine hearing James singing with his justice era gravely voice???
dude, you're a genius! I want in! Did you film your parts?
Josh Steffen joshhh!!
Thanks!! Not filmed but I guess I can film a ''performance''
Josh and GuitarRazze, you two can make this happen!
GuitarRazze, Josh was asking if you'd like to do remainder of these videos of the rest of the Hardwired songs with him when the album is released, and it's a great idea. I just want to raise one finger for a thing that I believe many Metallica youtubers like, and that's the mix of the songs. Josh, I watched your videos and it would be great if you use triggers or something to edit your drum sounds to sound like the Lars' drums during the recording of the AJFA album for these videos, part of the enjoyment is to hear how the element of the drums complete these songs. Please try to make your drums sound more sterile, dry, clicky and "1988-y" if you are going to do this project.
Future regards, every Metallica fan on CZcams
If you could cop Hetfield's Bed Tracks, you could do some serious Damage.
Holy Shit!!! a wild josh has apear c:
Holy shit why does it sound better. Metallica needs to stop using modern recording technology lol. pull out the 80s gear!
yes
i only listen to this song on this version, new version sounds.....inferior to this one, and im the biggest metallica fan there is lol, oh well
They tried to do that with Death Magnetic and it ended up with terrible sound. Mainly cause they did it wrong.
Should do death Magnetic if it was Puppets or Ride the lightning.
they have been using the same gear the past 30 years
its just different mixing and EQ and you are all aware that people evolve and want new tones?
James even stated that this album's tone was the best tone they have ever achieved
wtf he literally plays the disposable heroes solo
Best examples I can think of: Halo on Fire is a failed sequel to Welcome Home, and Spit Out the Bone is Metal Militia, Fight Fire with Fire, or Damage, Inc.
@@sylvanias6475 the original solo to Moth Into Flame is nothing like this, he just played Disposable Heroes solo because who knows
Martín Garay because it fits
@@tomboomeronacrv Except that Halo on Fire is a great song
@@jto541 I don't think so, personally. I get the feeling it wants to be Welcome Home at some points but then stops for another. It doesn't feel right.
Drum fill at 4:33 is lifted from Frayed Ends of Sanity lol
sounds like you forgot the bass! oh wait..
hahaha
Metallica proved once and for all on this album that bass players & thrash metal are a dumbass mix. They don't need a bass player. Proper thrash metal doesn't need a bass player. Cliff was a unique exception.
listen to some megadeth songs and then try to imagine peace sells without bass.
HAHAHAHAHAHA, joke of the century! Comedy genius!
"proper thrash metal doesn't need a bass player"
Who the fuck are dave ellefson, frank bello, and greg christian. Go fuck yourself.
This is really awesome!! You need more views :D
So are you!
right on spot.ajfa pt 2
The lead harmony in the pre chorus is so good, I don’t understand why they didn’t do it. Awesome job.
Oh internet, do you ever stop giving?
actually it's better than the original
Great work, please add with James's voice version :)
Serhatoryum that'd be a lot harder.
If only it was that easy, lol.
ripa9 That'd be pretty cool, but I checked his channel and, although his voice is very good, and he sings in the same style James did, it's not really so similar that could be put over this and make it sound like James, which is the whole point of this video (he reminds me more of the guy from Disturbed actually, ahah).
ripa9 Cool dude, I'm looking forward to hear it, there's no denying he's great!
+rip9 - He's not bad, but he doesn't really sound like James to me. His vocal style isn't raspy and sharp enough, which are both the appealing traits of it and the most damaging to one's vocal chords to do anyway.
I am flattered by level of precision you have put into making this song. The Drums, Guitars and "Bass" sounds exactly the way it is on AJFA album. Cheers to you !
this is ridiculously close, wow you've captured the feel of it, making me think about how much tone and mix impacts a song
Sorry for my English... Did anyone noticed that this solo part from 4:01 to 4:10 is exactly the same as the solo in Disposable Heroes? (search for disposable heroes in youtube and find 5:05 minutes on the song). That happensa too in the original Moth In to the Flame song?¿
Kirk uses his licks in so many different songs , its his style :|
nah, it doesn't happen in the original solo!
i notice you hear stuff like that alot in the first 2 songs... you're like," I know I've heard this before in another Metallica song" but just different. but who cares? that's why I love Metallica, and I'm sure you guys to.. those first four records, anyway
You are right the solo sounds an awful lot like the one on Disposable heroes. Hammet is copying himself.
Small part of disposable was replicated by both james and kirk. Go and check the making of this song video. James mentions disposable heroes.
Finally, awesome it sounds just like AJFA I just wish we could put james vocals on top of this that would be epic.
Like .. Justice-era vocals.
Yeah, but also james normal moth into flame vocals just put his vocal track over this.
+nailspine definitely justice era vocals
Yea buts that's impossible
if he could find a good vocal cover of james in justice era
That snare roll back into the verse at 1:53 is so tight! I wish Lars had actually played that. It fits so well. Awesome job with these. They're all awesome
Incredible work! Now if you can magically rewind James' vocals back almost thirty years, I'd call you a miracle worker.

Nowadays we cam do it via AI... I AM WAITING FOR IT!
Boy do I have some news from the future…
Now we have voice AI, it is possible. Born too late to explore the world. Born too late to explore the universe. Born just in time to experience every Metallica song recreated in the style of their greatest albums!
At first I was like "Oh yawn... another one of these..." but then I was like... "Wow, actually OP delivered".
"mommy... where's fluffy?..."
that quick fade in at 4:36 was such a nice justice touch
0:00 Harvester Of Sorrow
This is astonishing! Better than the original moth song!
This is better than anything Metallica have released since and justice.. This is insane..
boog nish Bull...shit
My opinion is my opinion. The worst thing metallica ever did was Bob Rock.....
You can swallow Bob Rocks load for all I care. You have just proved your ignorant and oblivious to the point. Fuck you to Infinity and beyond dumpling felcher...
boog nish and you just proved that you think your opinion is all that matters. come on man you sound like you think thrash metal is all that matters. open your mind, theres way more than just what's before the black album.
I like how some parts of the drums were changed into groves and fills that you would find on the Justice record. Well done.
That's right folks! You can get that classic AJFA tone in three easy steps:
Step 1 - Set guitar mids to 0
Step 2 - Delete the bass track entirely
Step 3 - Turn the drums up too loud and remove all reverb.
Congratulations!
jonny j their bass was at like 1 1/2
Their 80hz slider was up however
So does that mean if I wanted “For Whom The Bell Tolls” or “Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)” done this way I would hear nothing in the intros of the song?
i never understood why metallica switched from this badass tone to their current shitty tone
Yeah fuck the newer shit. I'm gonna listen to Annihilator.
Conshe Tumare
The new album's gonna be pretty laughable, only a few decent songs now.
Bastard bitches will hate on the "haters".
Conshe Tumare
You are following a mass as well. The mass that accuses a band of "selling out" just because they want to change their look or style or music. The mass that expects a band to stay "true to their roots" by looking the same and playing the same fucking music for 30 years just to please their entitled asses.
Dave Bellamy
Why do you care about an opinion? No need for hostility lol.
*****
But it's as repetitive as the people who supposedly go out of their way to insult a band.
We need a full re-work of Load, Reload, St. Anger, and Death Magnetic using old tones...
Jack Tambour load and reload would sound bad with justice tone
Agree, he can do it!
Definitely Death Magnetic and possibly St. Anger. The original tones actually work in Load and ReLoad. Songs like Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Hero Of The Day, and Fixxxer would be ruined with Justice tones.
Jack Tambour Load and ReLoad are fine with it's own tones, but they sound fucking epic with the black album tone.
Check out the re-recording from 2015 by some guys of "St. Anger", it sounds really great and the singer sounds very much like James. I never could listen to "St. Anger" long time because this bullshit snare drum always gave me a headache after less minutes usually. But this re-recorded version sounds really good and is fun to listen to.
this is how the song should be written by metallica
with no bass?
for the bass purposes we have ...And justice for Jason, we know?
It's just showing an example of what the song would be like if it had the exact same sound as AJFA. You can always change levels during the mixing process.
I never used to like the tone of And Justice For All, but now that I'm older and have listened to these "what if?" videos, I have come to appreciate it more than I used to.
Of all the Justice "what if" tracks, this one sounds the most natural, like it fits that album seamlessly.
This video made news on the Metal Injection news page!! Awesome!
How did you do this? this is perfectly done.
garageband
+silent phantom callece
the only thing that comes in mind is bias amp match but i dont know if you cab find the isolated guitars from moth into flame
he only needs the guitar tone from and justice and then bias amp match with that tone. it is recorded from scratch you can hear that it's not 100% the same as some notes are different..
It's magic...
The reverse reverb fade after the solo had me dead LOL perfect. Great solo too. And more old school creative Lars fills than he ever does now.
This really puts in perspective how good their new shit is.
Dude the drums sound exactly like and justice for all. Same with the guitar. Awesome job. How did you get these tones? Can you do some other songs with these AJFA tones? Like some stuff off death magnetic or something?
I guess he did it with impulses to copy the eq of the album
and yet in another comment he says he did not
It's not that hard to copy tones from albums without any special tools. Guitars and drums are especially easy. Drum tones can even be copied directly as trigger samples. You can also do it with some tone matching tools (there's dozens of them). For the rhythm guitar, the first riff of Blackened is a perfect source for A/B matching and tone matching. Dyers Eve (0:57) is a perfect source for the toms. But you can also get them very easily from the Guitar Hero multitrack stems for the song And Justice for All.
its like a trigger aplication right? you can change tones at will, would love to hear it with the tone of spreding the disease
hahahaha
This sounds so much better. Maybe that's what they need, what I've been saying forever...They need their old tone and old producer Flemming Rasmussen back!
I love how perfect this is - right down to the Lars-isms in the drum track. Flawless work!
I am very thankful for this upload. Amazing!!
Fantastic. Tones are spot on. Love the added layered harmonies as well.
you wouldn't hear any bass....
Paolo Campanella nice stealth pinhead avatar man love puppet master!
yes, like and justice for all mix :)
exactly what I had in mind when I clicked on the video
Better than the original.
InfernalDreamGuitar I was just thinking that. Take every single sound from Justice including James's voice and apply it to this song. Holy shit! Then it becomes the hidden bonus song from 1988 that we never heard!
Much better
1:13 that opening was so annoying, but I lo es all the song
Wow, this is spot-on. Subscribed! Looking forward to more of this stuff.
Bad. Ass. You got all of the signatures in there.
Man, I'm impressed by your work! You really are talented, sir. Maybe you should think about music production or something as your future job? Of course if you're not doing it already.
I have thought about it but sadly it seems too hard to make a career out of it.
If you don't stop, one day you will be experienced and every market needs experienced people. Plus you're really talented. Never stop!
+Sm0key90 I completely agree. This is awesome
Dude, incredible. Good work.
3:40 - 4:06 sounds like Disposable heroes 🤔
Well this song is basically a spiritual successor to Disposable. The band references it several times in the Making Of video.
This proves that production plays a huge part in your song!!!! This is so much better!
will you be doing the full album in this style when it comes out
that's the plan
sounds fantastic cant wait
With vocals,P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!
He doesn't have access to the vocals.
let me do it
I love that you stole parts of the Disposable solo for this, because it was exactly what I imagined the solo would've been like had this been recorded in the 80s.
The addition of the fade in before the last verse, like the one in Shortest Straw, is awesome too.
And the small drum part from the song And justice for all @ 4:23
This is so incredibly well done. All the little things that went into this are amazing to hear. Really deserves millions of views. Excellent work!
So incredibly spot on. Amazing.
thats fucken cool, now just need to add James 80's vocals
Great work dude. It would be awesome to extract also the vocal track (maybe from a future 5.1 version of Hardwired) and add it to this. : )
Yeah! Hope they release one
I wish someone could extract Hetfield from the Justice era and make him sing this song
calling doc and marty
Miltiadis Kyvernitis yeah James did a great job on the vocals on Spit Out the Bone, gotta give credit where it is due!
Or you could get the guy from parasyche, he nails his impression of James
eff dude, you shred. this was an amazing breath of fresh air.
Amazing....simply, AMAZING! You've captured every tonal aspect of the guitars, not to mention the drum kit sound, from AJFA!! If I may, I'd like to do a vocal cover using this version for my channel. I would of course give every ounce of credit for this outstanding instrumental to you, and provide links to your channel as well. Keep up the kick ass work that you do!! \m/ (>
i have a question about the bias program cause i have no idea how they work exactly. would there be any way to hook up the bias program to a n actual guitar cab and play through it like any other amp or does it only work on a computer?
Same here.
lmao
WE NEED VOCALS HELP THIS GUY
CoverMan do you sound like 80's or early 90's james? If so i am 100% on board
This is fucking awesome. I wish they would go back to tones similiar to these. The guitar tones they use now are just crap. Don't know why they went that direction. I mean I get evolving the guitar tone and thats cool. But the new tones are so obviously inferior.
James has said the tone he got for HTSD is his favorite ever.
Guess thats the cool thing about guitar. It's all opinion. I just can't get on board with the current tones. Obviously the OP was my own opinion. Still think Moth is a great song and am excited for the new album
***** Hardwired To Self Destruct
Hardwired to self destruct
They had it perfected in Ride the Lightning. That's why RTL was sooooo fucking successful. 6x platinum... a 3-platinum jump from the last album... because Ride the Lightning had the BEST FUCKING TONES and every song was an amazing song.
This is a genuine work of art, you got the drums and guitar tones spot on!
This is insane. I'm blown away!
This is amazing. I've listened to it 10x today already.

Nice job man! Really nailed that Justice tone and feel. Song could actually fit on the album. Can even hear that bass with with all the mids and highs turned down lol. Only thing tho, I was waiting for James to starting singing with that Harvester of Sorrow style vocals. Man I miss James old voice!
Damn that was good, do a master of puppets, kill me all, and ride the lightning

FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!! How did you this? Blown away.....
intraveloxer type 1 software
Flux capacitor
O Lox it's actually pretty easy... I don't know why people are freaking out over this.
If by easy, you mean, re-recording rhythm and solo tracks (maybe bass?), programming drums, and making the production sound pretty much exactly like it sounded on AJFA, then yes, this is easy. It might be easy, but it's hard enough that Greg Fidelman can't do it....
explain then. if it's so easy. Unless he has the stems for the DI guitars.
This guy needs to do this for the whole album, put the vocal track on it and release ...And Hardwired for all
Amazing job!!! The sound is really accurate, love ...and justice for all. Congratulations!!
This is actually badass. Awesome job!
