What she says about the competitiveness is true and sounds as a logical explanation and very well may be the reason for what is going on in this Caitlin Clark situation, but the fact that we can't openly discuss the other possible reasons, such as racism is more evidence for one of the biggest issues in our society--people are afraid of openly discussing things for fear of being wrong or criticism or being taken the wrong way. Maybe it's racism and maybe it's not. We can never know the actual intentions for anyone's actions. Only that person truly knows their intentions. What we can do is not be afraid to weigh the logic of all sides of any scenario and use that to shape a current opinion and understand that opinion is maliable meaning it's not a conclusion. Just because people are openly discussing something doesn't necessarily mean that they've formed a conclusion one way or the other. When it comes to racism of any kind we should understand that it is difficult to nearly impossible to prove because of the dynamic of not being able to prove intentions. That being said, having a discussion should never be discouraged.
